For all those believers in Christ, this was a tear jerkier for me. Even though the movie was rated as good, the part of Paul touched my soul. It is amazing how knowing the Word and the presence of the Spirit can touch our being by just imagining the suffering that Paul bared in the name of Christ. Last part of the movie did it... I could not hold my tears as I watched a man that I believe truly loved the LORD.
I was similarly moved. Paul asks us to imitate him in his faith as he imitated Jesus. That kind of faith seems unreachable. It is certainly something to strive towards. What a powerful movie.
Yes, I feel the need to support not only my faith in the Lord, but also that I would like to see more similar films like this one in the future. My next film that would like to watch is" I can Only Imagine."
WOW! Ivan, you have brought tears 😭 to my eyes, knowing that there is hope for this world, people like you who believe in the Christ are the true children of GOD.
the dialogues in this movie are amazing. the writers manage to shoehorn what Paul told the churches he wrote to in his Epistles, into his words here later in his life--his exchanges with the warden here, his discussions with Luke about definition of love for example, as well as his mockery of the young men who came to break him out. heck even the minor character Publius has such compelling dialogue and role to persuade Mauritius to snitch on Paul, that doesnt feel inorganic or forced.
Luke says to Mauritius- "and what of the love of a sick daughter.. what does Rome offer her?" In the movie Mauritius' young daughter is dying despite the prayers and pleas to the Roman gods to heal her.
is no way in the world y'all going to tell me that's the centurion soldier going to have a general casual conversation with the almighty filled with the holy Ghost apostle Paul and not having some type of effect in his heart concerning the words that's coming out of Paul's mouth it is no way in the world that this movie can be any real than this
It did subconsciously have affect/effect on him. Sometimes the grace of The Holy Spirit is not felt right away. And not everyone chooses to accept the grace of The Holy Spirit.
Do you think or want to believe that I'll turn water into wine, or wake up the dead...or heal or cast out demons..do you think and wish that ... well I love your hollywood movies, I'll be watching movies...
"Men do not die for THINGS they DOUBT!"👍

James Faulkner gave an oscar-worthy performance of Paul
