I’m illiterate (my personal ethical stance please don’t argue) and have been squatting in this abandoned dacha in the middle of Siberia for 1.2607 generations and I still want to join the Royal Guard if the world ever gives feudalism another try 🤞
Maybe the mage's voice is his imagination. He though of her as a young mage in search of a hero.
The council orders the immediate discharge of a random trainee over the death of the king... Instead of the actual knight commanding the operation whose watch it happened under? Instead they've chosen to blame a single low ranking soldier? I get the distinct Sir Rainald simply threw you under the bus here to save his own skin.

I'm only 20 minutes into the video, but I already wish I could afford to buy this game right now. Also, if I ever make a game with echo-y letter reading voice acting, I think I need to make it a point to make at least one letter from a character you haven't met yet be read in a completely different voice to their actual voice, because you haven't met them yet. XD

"Hold down the fort" is from American English, dating to the 19th century. It combines "hold the fort" with the phrase "hold down", which means "to occupy a place".

14:36 Aavak, obviously Aurelia the mage is a beauty, who you as aspiring Royal Knight were able to see, and overhear, from a distance on at least one occasion. I am not saying that there was some love at first sight thing happening to you, but I am also not, not, saying that.
21:10 The reason for their stuff being on their roof is that the thieves that stole them all went in from the roof and wanted to leave the same way but fell and died or got injured badly enough they were unable to get the loot and you came and found it first. (Yes, ALL of them. That city's morgue was already full before the thing with the king happened.)
53:55 You got the Blueprint Arrow when you got the crafting pop up so it seems like you can get duplicate blueprints. Not sure if that is good or bad loot-wise.

That treasure hunter clearly had lost sight of the importance of leveraging shinies to get other nice stuff, like a decent house and some creature comforts. More shiny good, but happy and healthy people better enjoy shinies, are better at finding shinies, and live longer to hoard and enjoy more shinies. Every great loot goblin knows that they need just a little investment banker evil as spice to the _mostly harmless_ loot goblin greed for best results.
I would like to see much more of this game as a series. About 40 min in and I'm hooked, honestly thinking of getting it myself

My main issue with RPG lockpicks is this whole "breaking" concept.
I may fail to open a lock, but I have NEVER, EVER, even as a total amateur, broken a lockpick... they are usually made of spring steel
I'd much rather see a game tell you your chance based on your skill and the lock's construction, then just make every attempt take time.
The first thing Aavak does once he is out of the tutorial is to sell the best melee weapon he has…
Wooden sword and WORN sword are not the same thing! You didn’t have 2 wooden swords.
Definitely getting this the moment it goes on sale. I've needed a replacement for Skyrim (which sadly is no longer playable on my computer).
That's not really how Carcinization works. It's just convergent evolution, and the crab form factor is very very successful in certain ecological niches. Crustaceans keep evolving into crabs because the individuals who have more crab-like features are more successful (than other individuals exploiting the same niches) on average, so those traits become dominant in the population. It's not like dogs are going to become crabs in a few million years; those same traits that make successful crustaceans, would be a detrimental in a land-based social mammalian predator that heavily relies on a symbiotic relationship with the local apex predators.
I made it halfway through the video and had to stop. It was making me dizzy and then a headache started. It happens sometimes with games so.. I gave a like and commented to help your algy rythm. From what I saw the game looks fun and I really wanted to keep watching. If viewpoint can be switched I might try it after early access.
Is my math not mathing or isn't there a 25% chance for all arrows to be pointed the same direction when lockpicking?
I'm not a huge Skyrim fan, I don't know dragons dogma, but there are way too many Gothic references in this game for me to not buy it.

You can tell this is voiced by AI. Honestly it's not bad, but there's just something missing, lack of emotion in the voice maybe. The uncanny valley if you will.
Developer of the game here. I had professional voice actors for the game, but then I changed some lines and decided to use AI voices because it keeps things flexible and I already know the lines have to change again in the future. Maybe I will get back to professionals before the game fully releases and the dialog is final.
But on the other hand AI voices are so good nowadays and it would allow me to voice ALL dialog in multiple languages, which would otherwise be impossible.

Nah man, there's nothing that indicates AI voices to me. IN a discussion on Steam the dev even mentions the name of one of the voice actors.
