Well, me, Frodo Baggins existed before _I_ was born, but things were born before I existed, and there were egg laying species, that at one point, gave birth instead of laying an egg, so in that scenario, if I were the said Birthee, then I would have existed before birth.

I was looking through the comments section when I realized that people took a video about the old idea of "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?" and turned it into a religious debate in which everyone spews nonsense about things they know hardly anything about.

I see this issue in a wider scale, which is about the first egg ever laid. Since all organisms are a mutation and there’s really no line between them, I would go back since the first organism. The first cell reproduced cloning itself and in a way the egg is some sort of clone to the chicken, in this scenario the “chicken” came first since the egg is its “clone”

The original realization that god created reality is that without consciousness, there would be nothing. After all, the only reason why anything exists is because it is processed through our minds in order to exist in reality. That's what it means that god created everything. It's technically true. The truth is that we're not anything. Our sense of identity is an illusion. You have to get rid of the sense of self. You have to get rid of the ego. Your name, your nationality, your achievements, whatever it may be... it's a sense of identity. But deep deep down, far far in... none of those things actually define who you are.
So when you continue to remove all things not deeply true of who you are, what are you left with? You're left with nothing but observation. Preceding all thought... Just what you see in front of you is what is left. The only thing that exists is awareness. What you see, what you hear, what you feel. No past, no identity. Only the present moment with full consciousness. God is that experience.

God is, perhaps, experience itself, in the purest sense. It is the existence of reality. Without perception, there is lack of reality. There can be no reality without this underlying experience of existence.
There is a book called the Power of Now that calls it "Being." Oriental/Eastern philosophical outlooks call it by varying names. And the Hindus have countless delineations between different kinds of concepts for it. Point being, the westerner's idea of "god" is less fundamental in comparison to easterners'. To think that God is some supernatural entity somewhere external out there in the world... well, the concept is scientifically mute.

Pretty sure that’s wrong man, it’s a gene mutation between the same birds that happens to get passed down and selectively breed. Like the definition of a species is pretty much anything that can successfully mate together. I think there have been a few rare examples of sterile interspecies.

Which is why I don't like the question, since people will have long discussions about it, when in reality, it comes down to specifying different things from the question, in order to remove every bit of ambigious information.
And, as they mention in the video, there couldn't have been a point in history (based on our definitions) where two birds mated and it produced a new species. So, if we're going by "..the chicken or the (chicken)-egg", the chicken would've come first. That chicken would reproduce with another bird of its species, and so evolution would continue to evolve it to the chickens we have today.
