This video is a perfect example of why I value Jonah so much as a member of the gaming content-creating community. None of this click-baity hyperbolic crap about how a game is bad, from someone who only has a session of a few hours into the game. From Jonah when get a very real and balanced opinion based on real play, multiple characters and an understanding of the development process. Example, his evaluation of the combat in the context of how short a period of time they put it together after scrapping the previous system. It's mid, but here's the context. This is what I want. Couple notes on random things: -The movement shapeshift morphs also unlock buffs, as you unlock more and complete sets (same for Amitoi), and getting them all is a longterm project -The mob-based morphs allow you to avoid aggro from related mob types, getting all of those is also important -The gathering is a tiny bit more complex than it appears on the surface or than what you get in some other games as time of day and weather play a part -Only a portion of the overall map has been made accessible, and there is a lot of stuff yet to be unlocked, which includes new content types Bottom line is perfectly put in the video - it's been a while since we've had an MMO this well-made. For that reason alone, everyone who plays MMOs should try this one.
I haven't enjoyed an MMO this much in a while. Super immersive. I like the story and plot, that Quest story about Henry and wolves was like an old school Disney movie(Scene with the Deer god was beautiful). The graphics are amazing. Soundtrack is amazing(Witcher vibes). Combat is a little clunky, but is still fun, and gets much better if you move the keybinds around and get used to it. I don't understand all the hate this game is getting from everyone, especially content creators. It's bizzarre.
It's not getting hate from everyone, just the vocal minority (except in Korea). I don't agree with this video at all about diversity, appeal, etc. The combat in Korea was just revamped and is much better, and I don't agree the game is PVP focused. I also don't agree we need more PVP.
In the global version of the game you can get the battle pass and leveling pass with lucent, making it so that f2p players can get it as well. In Korea you can only get those passes with real money.
@@romangolob2279 no it is not, MMO is persistent whereas moba games reset after every match... you'd want persistent world affected by pvp, but pvp that would work without you having to grind PVE.. think of Planetside 2 or similar
haven't tried the game yet, but from what i have seen it is giving me some big early AION X BDO vibes, and that is a good sign, if they keep the p2w low and the end game dynamic and ballanced.
It looks okay, in general it’s a bang average game that will die off in a few years or drop to low player numbers. If you want a good MMO then wait for Ashes of Creation to show its hand and in the mean time play Guild Wars 2.
@@IsSalty Sure, but Guild Wars 2 is only for people who have been playing GW2, they do zero marketing and the game has no real progression I value as a PvPer. We jammed it for a couple weeks a while back and most people just aren't interested in how dated gw2 is, just the facts.
I haven't tried TNL yet but everyone keeps saying the combat is not very good and that's what makes or breaks an MMO for me. The lack of content/systems also has me worried, it takes time to develop those systems but will players give it that time?
The devs clearly went back on what they said, its very different then the KR version. If anyone is crying of p2w they are just going off word of mouth. Its clearly pay for convenience now. The game is designed for an old school MMO player tho, thats no lie. It won't explode in popularity right away due to streamers bashing it constantly but it will have a solid playerbase with quality people in it. The game is awesome in bringing back community and team work. Which sadly is not a thing in modern MMO's anymore. I just hope they keep to pumping out these awesome updates, and don't cave to the masses and completely change the concept they started with. I love old school MMOs and this fixes my itch for one!
if u you can swipe and buy gear its just firm p2w. End of the day like I said, I don't personally care. But most would say buying gear with irl money is p2w.
@@JonahVeilGaming if you can get the the same gear by playing the game that's available in the shop I don't consider that pay to win I consider that pay for convenience. I don't know if that is the case or you get substantially much better gear by swiping. I wonder if buying the game for 40 bucks will you get the same battle pass, auction, etc for the life of the game. Live service is not being received well lately
Thanks for the upload, dawg. I appreciate it. It was a good video. It was what one would constitute, as " Fair enough ". haha. You weren't being no ass-kiss, but you weren't bashing it, just for the sake of bashing it. haha. Like, I have heard ( only a handful, mind you ) claiming that this game is trash because it's "Graphical Fidelity " looks like a PS2 Game. It's like, huh? Apparently, you're not only blind, but you're a liar, too.
Eh, combat is very similar to WoW. And while I agree, tab target is boring, the rest of the game has a PvP focus, which is not boring. I'll eat some shit for some stuff I enjoy.
No, western players don't want more pvp. I want less of it. Only confined to optional zones. I want more good instanced PvE dungeons. I want ESO with modern graphics.
If you have the hard copy of the game, you can look up the private servers that you can play WildStar on. It's missing some content and they're always updating it but at least you get to experience it again
@@JonahVeilGaming hmmmm for a game focusing on PvP and grind… this combat is no where near good enough. It’s very mediocre. It would have been better if they would have even brought back their original combat from way back when the game was still called lineage eternal tbh . ( look up some vids on that combat - basically lost ark combat )

Didn't know that tbh, good to know the difference!
The big problem is that even for like people moving over from Albion.. you dont really want to grind pve again to be able to do pvp
What you mean bro that's the whole point of an mmo otherwise why wouldn't you just play a game like league or smite

I'm sure as the years go by, they will incorporate more stuff to do. I'm sure a few years from this now this will be entirely different game
Nice vid Jonah. Wish release was sooner.
nice vid Jonah. o/

Eh def not an average MMO. No mmo that's come out in recent memory has any real focused endgame on largescale PvP.
@@JonahVeilGaming Guild Wars 2 has 100 player PVP.
AOC probably won't be out until 2030 and I'm not even joking. By the time it comes out it will look and feel dated.

They need to add small scale pvp insentive

The combat seems so boring to me lol. I’ll definitely give it a shot once it’s truly out and free. But don’t see any reason to grind it hard.
I get that.
Fair and balanced review instead of just hating like the asmongold mob. Personally I enjoy the game and agree with most of your points!
Nice

oh ma ga so much talking ga damn ! 😁
there is no auto combat bro. this game is for hard core gamer only or jobless
gonna try it its free so why not
The prettiest mmo that gets rekt by its combat and boring gameplay

It was more so aimed at more than KR Players. We pvpers are well aware there is more PvErs than us lol
It'd be nice if WILDSTAR didn't die.. :( I loved that shit. haha. It brings back some fond memories of a much more simple time.

trash game
Meh Guild Wars 2 is better.
I mean that may end up being true, but TnL hasn't really launched yet. We can't judge them 1:1

So what's a 10/10 combat?
I really don't think the combat is that bad lol.
@JonahVeilGaming I don't either especially when you upgrade your skills, so I am asking him what a 10/10 combat or is considered
