Update: I got the suspension professionally tuned....omfg!!! What a difference! It is not the same bike! It turns sooooo much sharper and the bike just goes on the freeway. Right when u think things couldn't get any better....they do lol. I really really reAlly need to do a track day now. Ill probably do another video when I log some more miles.
+Taylor Livingston fore real!!! I agree 100%! I rode a 2016 Ducati 899, 2016 BMW s1000rr (fast!!!), 2014 R1, 2015 R6, 2012 675, 2007 GSXR 750 and a 2006 CBR 600rr. The 2014 636 is still my favorite bike!!! Its great for the commute and the track. It really is a perfect bike! I even beat the R1 and the 899 in a drag race lol! Go 636!!!! lol I even taught my buddy how to ride a motorcycle on it lol. I there anything this bike cant do?!?!?! 1.5 years and 18,000 miles later I have had zero problems and I have been beating the crap out this bike. Track days, and commute in heavy California traffic every day. Kawasaki has done the impossible. lol
It is a great 1st bike. Over 2.5 years of riding it and I am still not bored of the bike. Make sure you go at your own pace.....this bike can fuck you up if you ride outside your limits (trust me I know). But this bike can also take one hell of a beating! +25k miles on her and still going strong! Cheers!
Big props to you mate, love your review. Like where your coming from and the way you articulate yourself shows your educated and smart about your choices. Am a mature guy who just bought the ninja 650 2wks ago and just checking out what l would like to move to later. This sounds more like it for many reasons. Please stay safe to enjoy your labour.
Great bike. I have the same year bike. I put on a fender eliminator, M4 exhaust, frame sliders, tank gel pad, dyno jet power commander and Smoke Zero Velocity windscreen before my first 3 months with it.
Kawasaki needs to build it in red same goes for the 650R and 300. The color schemes are terrible but not as bad as Honda. I think Suzuki makes the best color schemes but that front headlight be killing me!
Rene G. Solis I not a big fan of red bikes and I love green. But More colors would be nice! I love Honda's Repsol bikes! :D I almost got a gsxr 600 cuz it was sooooo cheap but....I agree with you that head light was just nasty! And the 636 had good looks, nice color, great engine and cheap to maintain (Japanese bike). Plus TC and ABS are not needed for a 600 but it was nice to have for a 1st bike.
I see you have experience riding before getting the 636.Can a pure beginner start on this bike using the low power mode ? not sure if there's a big different between the F and L mode ..
desmond leow Before buying my 2014 636 I had about 12 hours of riding exp. 7 hours of which was on a 2006 636. I felt very comfortable on the 636 and was smart enough to control my throttle hand.If you feel you can control your need for speed and ride at your own pace (even in a group ride) then the new 636 is a great bike! In full power mode the bike make around 130HP to the flywheel at Low power mode it make 80% of that power. Therefor 130 x 80% = 104HP at the engine. For reference the Suzuki sv650 makes 74HP and the ninja 300 makes around 35HP. So even in low mode it still has more than enough power to put you on your ass! But what I did was keep in it level 3 traction control mode for about a month. Level 3 TC cut in way before I got into trouble or I even thought about doing something reckless. Base line, if you love the 636 and it’s the bike you really want and you are not breaking the bank then get the bike that makes have a raging hard on for it every time you ride it! Good luck!
It's such a great thing that you respect the bike considering like you stated you haven't spent so much time on it. You know most of the time people get a powerful bike like this and just take off and wreck it or something haha. It really makes me happy seeing a video like this, especially since thing is my ultimate dream bike as well. Sure I'm only 15 but I know what I want when I'm older. It's also great that I'm the same height as you and almost the same weight so I can put those factors in too, huh, even if I'm a girl lol. Thanks for the video man and respect that beauty!
Jacilyn Dough Thank you very much Jacilyn. Yes, you gotta respect this bikes people forget how much power they have. Most 600s can do the 1/4 mile in less than 11sec...that's faster than most supercars that cost over $200,000! Also I have seen tooooooo many people crash on the street from not respecting the bike and the bike fucked them up for it!!!! The 636 is a good dream bike to have! I saw this bike back in high school in 2006 and told myself I am getting this bike when I am done with college!!! 8 years later I got it! lol Hold on to your dream and don't let anyone talk you out of it! Its quite an awesome feeling to ride something you worked 8 years for! Here is a link to a track day I did last month on your dream bike! She was amazing and fast!!!!!!! At then end of the vid you can hear me scream like a little girl (no offence lol) because I dragged knee for the 1st time! CHeers!ua-cam.com/video/19l_BAql2sY/v-deo.html
Get the 636!!!!! You wont regret it! I Just did a track day on it and it was amazing!!!!!!!!!! Very confidence inspiring! Maybe too much confidence. lol
Great bike bro. My first bike was also an 06 636, but just recently picked up a a brand new 2014 zx10r abs. Ride safe and keep her clean. I bleed Green. Kawasaki FTW!!!
@@tellyshelton if you want something more aggressive fun cheap and won't get stolen (like my 636 did) I highly recommend the royal enfield continental gt! I have the royal enfield interceptor and I fucking love it! So much fun, cheap/easy to work on and I get compliments EVERYWHERE I go. 👍🏾
I’m a brand new rider and am think I need a ninja 650 but want something I can grow into so I’m slightly think of the ZX6R. I’m 39 years old so I’m over the fact of going fast simply for the sake of it. Maybe a twist of the throttle here or there but I think I’ll be a pretty tame rider in general. Your thoughts?
Yo I got a question? I'm 5'5 about 190 and I was wondering if your feet touch the ground on that bike. I'm very interested in getting the ninja zx6r 636 but not sure if my feet will touch the ground lol. So how does that work?
OJ Wilks So I am 5’5’’ about 135lbs and the balls on of my feet touch the ground where as the R6 I was on the tips of my toe nails lol If u need more of your foot on the ground then an easy fix is to shave some of the seat material. You can take the seat off and take it to a bike shop and have them take off some seat material it really makes a difference. My buddy with a 2013 636 did it and I was almost flat foot. Hope this helps!
You will have a blast on the 500! and 600s are super cheap now a days. You can upgrade no problem at all when you are ready. Enjoy the cheap running cost/tires of the 500.
i had a 2006 zx6r 4yrs ago, and the bike was so amazing, it may not be the beginners bike for other people but for me it just so prrfect, i stop riding then but now i bought a perfect condition 05 zx10r, it a big difference between zx6, no offense to the newer model, i just dont like all the edges, i kinda like roundy, but its all preference, nice bike buddy
The 05-06 636s are my 2nd favorite bike So beautiful and fast! U gotta ride the new 636 and I think you might start to like it more and more! Thanks BRO!
hey man looking at the ninja 300 for a beginner bike i road some 125 dirtbike 4 strokes and act but i don't wanna spend the money for a bike imma have for 6 months. I know the 636 has modes to it would that be recommended? also struggling more due to the fact I'm 5`5 at 115 pounds
You think I should get a Ninja 300 or this for my first bike after I get my license and take all the safety courses? I'm 6 foot and weigh 165 lbs. I have no experience with manual cars either if that matters at all.
M4miata "he 636 has power modes and u can drop the power to something similar to the 300." This is wrong. The lowest power mode makes it so that the bike has 80% of it's regular power and that's off the top end. Still just under 3X more HP than the 300
Why are you waiting for 2016? I don’t think Kawasaki is going to update the ZX6r anytime soon. It’s the most advanced 600 sport bike on the market. It has ABS, TC and power modes….most 600s don’t even got ABS yet lol And I am short guy at 5’5’’ and I feel great on it. I do have to tip toe it at stop lights. Good luck!
Just for aesthetic reasons. I don't like the 2014 or 2015 colours and no 13's are nearby. Just hoping Kawi comes out with a colour scheme I like (red pls) in 2016,
Thank you vey much! I cant wait either! I love the zx6r in white! I am still debating on what type of muffler do I wanna run. Do I wanna be loud, or very loud? Lol What do you got done to your bike? Cheers!
Great vid ,i was going to get a 300 but sense watching your vid i change my mind.Im 5.6 and i started on a dirt bike i brought from my local pawn shop.i've sat on a honda cbr 600,suzuki and a r6 the honda was the most comfort.im kind of a noob myself.my question is when does the friction start to kick in on the cluch travel.
Thanks Liquid! Have you sat on the a new zx6r 636? I am shorter than you and they feel amazing to me!!! Kawasaki design this bike more for the street than the track. In saying that, the clutch is the lightest of the japanese 600s. Dont believe me go to the dealer and feel the clutch...its almost like a small bike clutch. It also engages really early (maybe 2.5-3cm pull distance). The light clutch feel and the early engagement make it very suitable for daily riding. My clutch hand never gets tired in California traffic. Again I encourage you to go to the dealer and check one out. Also you have more riding experience than me and like I said in the vid I feel very comfortable with the bike and the power. I also met a couple of guys in my area who got the 300 but after a few weeks they wanted a bigger bike and since they financed it for two years they were kinda stuck with it. Get whatever bike makes you happy and whatever you can afford! Cheers! and Good luck!
M4miata Theirs a Kawasaki dealership near wear i stay at but they don't let you sit on the bikes because there afraid that the customers are going to drop them.you said you are 5.5ft are able to plant both feet on the ground or are you on your tippy toes. The 2013-2014 honda cbr 600 and the kawi 636 seats heights are about the same and when i was on the cbr 600 both of my feet was almost firmly planted on the ground. And i was wearing flipflops dat day.
liquid4304 WTH type of dealer is that!?!? That is what the kick stand is for! Anyway try to go to another dealer and sit on it. I am not flat footing my bike or the cbr, I am on the balls of my feet. But I still feel in control of the bike. Now the R6 I cant move the bike back while I am on it cuz it is sooo tall Lol just do your hw before you buy. Honda OEM parts and labor can be a little higher than Suzuki Kawasaki and Yamaha. At least in my area. Also with the cbr you wont get the extra mid range and traction control. I believe the cbr has the lowest hp out all the Japanese 600s. But it is a well balanced bike. Good luck!
good video and yes the best bike ever, you are very humble and respectful so you deserve it. I dat on a 2014 last week in the showroom and fell in love, tried an R6, nice but small for me im super tall, new Gsxr is yuk and this felt like family when i sat on the 636. Thanks for sharing.
thank you! Yes It is an awesome bike!!! Great for daily riding and canyon and track riding! I couldn't ask for a better first bike! Hope you get it soon!
planing to get the same bike. Btw, for Techspec snake skin tank grips, which one did you get? they seem to have a lot of different price range on ebay...
+Yunfeng ZhaO It is an awesome bike!! You will love it! I got the techspec snake skin tank grips. They have the most grip out of the techspec line. Really helps with track days. Good luck and ride safe! -M4
+M4miata I got it today!! However, theres one time when i am on the highway hitting around 70mph, my seat starts to shake, or the bike I would say. I don't know its my seat or the bike...do you have the same issue?>
+Yunfeng ZhaO no my bike doesn't have that issue. check the wheel alignment or see if the wheels are balanced right. also check the wheels and make sure they not lose on the bike. good luck! -m4
Thanks! You gotta have the Monster decal on the green and black Kawi! And yes Kawasaki made an excellent bike! Team Green 4o Life! And which two brothers do you have? I bet it sounds amazing! U should do a sounds vid!
Michael Hernandez I drop it once....right after I got the suspension retuned...it took me off guard. No regrets. Get your ecu flashed ASAP!!!!!! Makes all the difference in the world. Either than that I put 15k miles on her in one year and noooooooooo problems at all. GOOOOD LUCK!
hey bro you said you are too short for R6, can you tell me how tall you are exactly? Im about 5 8 I can barely have my toes on the ground when sitting on the R6 at the dealership, and for the zx6r I could put about 1/3 of my foot on the ground. You said the old 636 was your first bike? I really wanted to buy a used 600cc, am I too short to handle a 600? without any riding experience
Its best to take an MSF course if you have never rode, the things you learn in that course will really help you when you start riding. As for your height, thats weird because I am 5'8 and my feet touch the ground when I'm on my 09' zx6r. If you get a 600 that you like but its still a bit too tall for you, you can always have the dealership install some lowering links on the bike to lower the seat height.
Brapp_Attack I will definitely take the MSF first. most of my foot can touch the ground when I sat on GSXR and CBR, just not ZX6R and R6. When I sat on it I was kind of overwhelmed by the size and weight I was sitting on. Even the throttle and the clutch feels tighter than I expected. Will the 3 day MSF course be enough to guide me through how to ride a sportbike? at least in the safety aspect
I am 5'5'' I could not even push the R6 backwards while sitting on it on the showroom floor....therefor too short. Now for a track bike I will never need to push it back so I could totally ride an R6 for a track bike. Yes my first bike I rode/learned to ride on was a 06 636. It was great! I loved it. It made me get the 2014 636. If you feel that you can control yourself, more importantly your throttle hand, and you can resist showing off to your friends by doing wheelies and riding fast within a few weeks of riding then YES get the 600! It is honestly not as bad as everyone makes it seems. I know many girls who started on their Gixxer 600 and R6 and they love it! SO I say get whatever the FUCK makes you happy bro! GOOOOOOOOD LUCK! And always wear your gear!
M4miata hah thats very encouraging bro :) Im definitely a very cautious person on the road, it took me almost a year since I got my license to get on the freeway.
LID3439 Yeah I think the MSF course is enough dude. Personally I had no prior motorcycle experience before taking the MSF course. However I had ridden atv's since I was 12.... so from an early age I learned how to shift my weight and respect the machine. The MSF course is great but when I finally got my zx6r home the first day or so was a bit scary because in the MSF course you will most likely learn on a cruiser style bike, whereas on a sportbike your feet are located much futher back and your stance is much different. This takes some getting used to but once you get used to it, its not a problem. You'll be fine on a 600, my brother and friend both started on 750 Gixxer's lol. Just wear your gear and please take your time getting used to the bike. It WILL put you on your ass if you don't respect it. Just watch the throttle and if you can ride with someone who has been riding for awhile do so....I rode with my brother a lot when I started to gain confidence and this is how I confident enough to ride on city streets with cars. If you have any questions definitely hit me up dude!! Good Luck!!
On my trip down to L.A. on the freeway I would stop ever 100 miles to fuel up. When I looked I had just over a half tank left every time I stopped. But I usually get around 160-170 before the light comes on. And I average 40 mpg
hey man if you ever want an another opinion on this Bike don't be worried to ask me any question you want. This is my 1st bike too. don't knock the Ninja 300 though. That can is a different kind of Fast!! TRUST ME! It will put a bigger grin on you face then the 636 can in certain situations. Ask anything you want to know. I look forward to it! P/S mind is the same Green just from 2013 w/ ABS and I have nearly 14,000 miles on it in less then 1.5 years of owning it.
D Raymond That is awesome bro! I will let you know if I have any questions. And Damn 14k miles in 1.5 years that’s pretty damn good! I am at 8k in 6 months! Also you are right about the 300 but, I will have to ride the 300 to get a full understanding of it. I got my ass handled to me by a ninja 250 on the track so I can image a 300 lol But I love the perfect balance of power and nimbleness of our bikes. Also get your ECU flashed it will make a biiiiiig difference in power and response plus it was just $100. I did a vid review of it ua-cam.com/video/ZJokcvycw_4/v-deo.html Cheers! M4
Good choice man i made the mistake of buying a ninja 250 and man i out grew that bike in about 6 months and upgraded to a 05 636 i like the looks of the bike cant wait till upgrade to the newer versions however i do like the zed x 10!
Thanks! Nice, I love the 06 636! That was the first bike I have ever ridden! Loved every second of it! I saw a couple really really good riders pass up 600s on their 250s at the track lol. But yes the zed X 10 is sexy fast bike! Get what makes you happy! :)
redneckon2wheels lol I surely didn't out grow this bike. I will probably never master or out grow the bike. I got my ass handed to me by a really good rider on ninja 250 at the track. I have a new found respect for 250s...would I buy one? Hell fucking no!!!!!
If you just want to ride on the rode and you do a lot of highway riding a 250 might not be a good option anyone can start on a modern 600 with traction control and abs you can jam the brakes the wheels won't lock up and can give it to much gas in the corners you won't low side because of traction control maybe a modern day 600 is the perfect beginner bike I race 2 stroke 125cc and I can pas people on 600 or even 1000 in corners but once we hit a straight away I get dusted
Hey Sir, this was a year ago, I weight 133 and my height is 5'6 I'm a small guy too so i can relate haha, should i get it as a first bike? I saw the video and I'm convinced but I need to hear it from you it's been a year, what'do you think about the bike now that it's been a year?
hey bro. its your money your bike your happiness. get the bike that gives u the biggest hard on. lol in saying that this bike was the best 1st bike!!! over a year later I am still n love with my bike ever time i ride it. good luck! -m4
@@billmurray7721 yes the 300 is an excellent 1st bike! Cheap fun reliable and you can sale it when your done with it and recover most of your $$$$. I had a lot of fun riding my buddy's 300 around. Remember it is more fun to ride a "slow" bike fast than a "fast" bike slow. I would also recommend looking at the fz07 and the royal enfield interceptor 650 (my new bike). These are very fun bikes for less than half the price of my old ninja. At the end of the day get the bike that gives you a ranging hard-on every time you go out to ride it! Lol good luck!
@@M4miata thank you for responding so quick, really appreciate you giving me a greatly detailed response helping me decide on a first bike. If I may ask one more thing, why did you get rid of the Ninja 636?
Yooo how you been dude?!? Tell me why I was searching reviews on a 2021 Vulcan s for my wife and this popped up and was like holy shit I know this guy! Lol
congratulations! you will love your bike! reliable, fast and cheap parts everywhere. make sure u do a track day as soon as possible! it will improve your riding skill significantly but also allow u to really open her up! and u can realize just how fast the 636 really is! lol plus nothing is more fun than fucking up Japanese 1000s and Ducatis (Du-dookies) on the track with the 636! :) good luck!
Good review on the bike, i went the route of the 300 first. its a great little bike. But yes, i do want more power! and i got comfortable on a bike quick. i also ride everyday and love the gas mileage of it.
Yes, they are great bikes! A really really good rider on a 300 passed us up at the track in the turns! We were all on 600s. We couldn’t believe our eyes lol Glad you are enjoying the baby Ninja! :)
Yes. U will be fine! The great thing about the zx6r is power modes. So there is alot of bike to grow into. Start off on low power then when u ballzy switch to full power!
Your welcome . Some other budget bike ideas are: 600 sport bikes that have been converted to naked bikes Ninja 300/250 Dual sport with street tires (very fun bikes) Suzuki Sv 650 (another fun and cheap bike! I rode my friends SV and it was blast to ride and sounds like a Ducati)
had to come back here ONE more time just because I agree 100% with everything you've said in this review. Just last year I took home my second bike 2013ninja with low miles. All I have to say is----------------JOLLY BALL SACKS it's one hell of a drug-imean BIKE!
Robert Smith I love the 675r but u cant beat how cheap the 636 is. plus for a track and street bike the 636 does a good job :) but if I crash my 636 my next bike will be a 675r
+hypebeast111 don't worry. still a good price for the best 600 class bike! congrats on the new bike! make sure u get your $12,000 worth and ride that shit everyday! I put 20k miles in 1.5 years lol and that includes track days and road trips and daily commuting lol so ride the hell out the thing. it loves it! also get the ecu flashed! it will complete transform the bike into a monster! best $100 spent yet
+M4miata No doubt will do, its my first bike as well. I live in Canada so im waiting for the spring rainy weather to pass. I'll get around to posting a video sometime in May. Thx for responding
O nice!!! Great 1st bike!! Also I am doing a road trip to Vancouver for the 1st time in May with my lady. Any must do things? We only got 2 nights there.
250 crap is for people with no self control my first was a 98zx6r no accidents 2nd 03 cbr600rr down 1 time hid ballast came off side mount and blocked forks from turning ran myself off road at 50mph current 2015zx14r safest bike ive had yet Any of these bikes with self control are fine. 250 or 14r going down at 80 will hurt the same
hahhahah I agree its all about the self control! a 250 n the hands of a reckless rider is just as dangerous as being on 600s. thats why I tell people to get the bike they want but control that right hand of yours! cheer bro and safe riding!
You will be fine! I weigh the same as you do and there is a video of me crashing and picking the bike back up by myself. The video is on my channel. You will love the bike!
hahah! It is an awesome bike! Tough as nails!! 25k miles later and still going strong at the track and daily commutes! More than enough power to kick ass on the track and plenty for "on the way to work" wheelies! ;)
Update: I got the suspension professionally tuned....omfg!!! What a difference! It is not the same bike! It turns sooooo much sharper and the bike just goes on the freeway. Right when u think things couldn't get any better....they do lol. I really really reAlly need to do a track day now. Ill probably do another video when I log some more miles.
damn relaly? haha i need to tune that suspension then! how much did it costs to tune it up? btw check out my videos! i have the 2011 zx6r
2cool0 it was $40. U can get it done at a local track day. I had dave moss here at in California tune it.
M4miata whaaaat? that's it 40$? man ishould have done it long time ago haha
Yep! your bike will handle sooo damn good! Cuz it will be tuned for your weight.
M4miata loved the review. Drive safe m8.
There's are reason this thing wins so many awards, It's the best modern Supersport on the market. Kawi has really outdone themselves.
Go 636!!!! lol
I even taught my buddy how to ride a motorcycle on it lol. I there anything this bike cant do?!?!?!
1.5 years and 18,000 miles later I have had zero problems and I have been beating the crap out this bike. Track days, and commute in heavy California traffic every day.
Kawasaki has done the impossible. lol
M4miata best reply ever!!
just upgraded to a 636...i have no words to describe how awesome it is.
Just wait until u get a slip on and k&n filter...omg!
Never rode or driven a motorcycle but I really want to learn as I'm am really interested in bikes now. Especially the ZX6R LOVE IT.
Glad to hear you are wearing your gear man. Not everyone does and they don't realize you absolutely need it.
Thank you! I always wear the gear! I like having skin on my arms lol ;)
Good 4 you ... For getting a 600cc as a first bike, I did the same.
+Rameshan Sivapalan Thanks! It has been an awesome bike! I love it! 1 year later I am still excited to ride it! :)
ABOUT A WEEK AGO!!!!!!!!!!
Thinking about get a 2017 zx6 pretty soon & I am a beginner your video encouraged me to go for it bro as long as u got self control thanks man
How is that bike now ?
Dude i started with R6 and respected that bike. Even though Im 5'5 height i love riding it. Ride safe always man!
Was on the fence about getting the 636 as my first bike, but I am definitely going to get it thanks to your video! Cant wait to pick it up!
I almost got a gsxr 600 cuz it was sooooo cheap but....I agree with you that head light was just nasty!
And the 636 had good looks, nice color, great engine and cheap to maintain (Japanese bike). Plus TC and ABS are not needed for a 600 but it was nice to have for a 1st bike.
Just bought mine yesterday first bike for me
good buy! Ride safe bro and please take your time! Ride at your pace!
Cheers!
jimmiehorn17 How do you like it?
Congrats!! Awesome motorbike, Ninjas are such great looking bikes
+Bcn Rocks They really are the best right now!
I see you have experience riding before getting the 636.Can a pure beginner start on this bike using the low power mode ? not sure if there's a big different between the F and L mode ..
desmond leow
Before buying my 2014 636 I had about 12 hours of riding
exp. 7 hours of which was on a 2006 636. I felt very comfortable on the 636 and
was smart enough to control my throttle hand.If you feel you can control your need for speed and ride at
your own pace (even in a group ride) then the new 636 is a great bike!
In full power mode the bike make around 130HP to the flywheel
at Low power mode it make 80% of that power. Therefor 130 x 80% = 104HP at the engine. For reference the Suzuki sv650 makes 74HP and the ninja 300 makes around 35HP. So even in low mode it still has more than enough power to put you on your ass!
But what I did was keep in it level 3 traction control mode for
about a month. Level 3 TC cut in way before I got into trouble or I even thought
about doing something reckless.
Base line, if you love the 636 and it’s the bike you really
want and you are not breaking the bank then get the bike that makes have a raging
hard on for it every time you ride it!
Started on a 300 as my 1st bike ever, thinking about jumping up to 636, but I dunno
Nice!! I love the zx10r! Beautiful bike! Get that ecu flashed to really bring out that power!
BLEED BLUE YAMAHAAAAAAAAAA
ih8momjokes1 Go team GREEN! KAWI!!!!!!!!!! lol
M4miata hahaha ignore the kawi that i have on profile pic lol
Started with a 650 a few weeks ago I want this now
The 650 is a great bike for the city and more practical than a 165mph 636. Lol save up tor a 636 track bike!
@@M4miata definitely comfortable i want sum a lil more aggressive
OJ Wilks
So I am 5’5’’ about 135lbs and the balls on of my feet touch the ground
where as the R6 I was on the tips of my toe nails lol If u need more of your foot on the ground then an easy
fix is to shave some of the seat material. You can take the seat off and take
it to a bike shop and have them take off some seat material it really makes a
difference. My buddy with a 2013 636 did it and I was almost flat foot. Hope this helps!
Helps a lot thanks!
Like the bike. I was scheduled for the BRC class this month but it's on hold. I bought a Ninja 500 to practice on. I like the 636.
You will have a blast on the 500! and 600s are super cheap now a days. You can upgrade no problem at all when you are ready. Enjoy the cheap running cost/tires of the 500.
@@M4miata thank you. I like the Harley Lowrider S but very expensive and probably not the best to begin on. I definitely want to upgrade from the 500.
@@M4miata you gave me confidence to buy my first bike I was thinking about the zx6r also. And this is not my first time riding but my first purchase
i had a 2006 zx6r 4yrs ago, and the bike was so amazing, it may not be the beginners bike for other people but for me it just so prrfect, i stop riding then but now i bought a perfect condition 05 zx10r, it a big difference between zx6, no offense to the newer model, i just dont like all the edges, i kinda like roundy, but its all preference, nice bike buddy
Still just under 3X more HP than the 300
Ya thats true lol still bettet than full ass out power!
How tall are you if you don't mind me asking. 6'2 and looking to upgrade to a 636 as soon as the 2016's come out. Little worried about being too tall
Why are you waiting for 2016? I don’t think Kawasaki is going to update the ZX6r anytime soon. It’s the most advanced 600 sport bike on the market. It has ABS, TC and power modes….most 600s don’t even got ABS yet lol
And I am short guy at 5’5’’ and I feel great on it. I do have to tip toe it at stop lights.
Good luck!
Just for aesthetic reasons. I don't like the 2014 or 2015 colours and no 13's are nearby. Just hoping Kawi comes out with a colour scheme I like (red pls) in 2016,
nice bike, got the same! can you tell me where you get your side tank pads?
my dad doesn't want me to get a bike. is there anything i can say to convince him to let me buy one?
congrats on the awesome bike! I also got a 2014 zx6r but got the white, can't wait to see what your gonna do with your bike! Subbed!
Good luck!
Hey man is your insurance high on this bike??
I really want one of these but I'm concerned of the insurance :/
Is that a parking pass to "hornets" University?
good video and yes the best bike ever, you are very humble and respectful so you deserve it.
+Yunfeng ZhaO no my bike doesn't have that issue. check the wheel alignment or see if the wheels are balanced right. also check the wheels and make sure they not lose on the bike.
good luck!
-m4
Its a overall great looking bike, comfortable and sounds great especially with a two brothers. Monster decals ftw
Thanks! You gotta have the Monster decal on the green and black Kawi! And yes Kawasaki made an excellent bike! Team Green 4o Life! And which two brothers do you have? I bet it sounds amazing! U should do a sounds vid!
M4miata I have two brothers black series. I have some videos
Thanks for the video! I'm looking at getting the same bike as my first bike. Curious, have you dropped it yet? Any regrets?
Michael Hernandez I drop it once....right after I got the suspension retuned...it took me off guard. No regrets. Get your ecu flashed ASAP!!!!!! Makes all the difference in the world. Either than that I put 15k miles on her in one year and noooooooooo problems at all. GOOOOD LUCK!
What kind of visor is that on your helmet?
hey bro you said you are too short for R6, can you tell me how tall you are exactly?
Brapp_Attack
I will definitely take the MSF first. most of my foot can touch the ground when I sat on GSXR and CBR, just not ZX6R and R6.
M4miata
hah thats very encouraging bro :) Im definitely a very cautious person on the road, it took me almost a year since I got my license to get on the freeway.
Good Luck!!
I love this bike its just the color options for me. The green is cool and ok but id like that shit in red white black or like a hrc color way.
Ryan Tebow your money your bike. You can always pant it or dip the fairings.
M4miata you're 100% correct.
lol thanks! That is one of the many reasons I love motorcycles. Not a lot of parts to paint if you wanna change the look of your ride ;)
Great review! Btw, is that a csus parking permit?
I happy for you! Drive safe! Buy away, how miles on full tank?
On my trip down to L.A. on the freeway I would stop ever 100 miles to fuel up. When I looked I had just over a half tank left every time I stopped.
But I usually get around 160-170 before the light comes on. And I average 40 mpg
M4miata that's amazing, thanks.
Bought a 300 this year, zx6r next I'm pumped
How much are you paying a month?
Is the r6 taller then this bike???
hey man if you ever want an another opinion on this Bike don't be worried to ask me any question you want.
I did a vid review of it ua-cam.com/video/ZJokcvycw_4/v-deo.html
Cheers!

You say you out grew it no you out grew the straight line speed you can't ride a 250 to it's limit on a track
redneckon2wheels lol I surely didn't out grow this bike.
I'm moving up to. 600cc this next season though
Hey Sir, this was a year ago, I weight 133 and my height is 5'6 I'm a small guy too so i can relate haha, should i get it as a first bike? I saw the video and I'm convinced but I need to hear it from you it's been a year, what'do you think about the bike now that it's been a year?
hey bro. its your money your bike your happiness. get the bike that gives u the biggest hard on. lol
in saying that this bike was the best 1st bike!!! over a year later I am still n love with my bike ever time i ride it. good luck!

Flip your camera horizontal... FOR CHRISTS SAKE!!!
Sweet bike though.
lol ya I fucked up this one....but ny other vids came out good.
IT DOES WHAT ITS TOLD!
great bike man! I've had my 300 a little less than a year but i may trade it for the 636 on sunday haha
+Alex Hines nice!! I bet you love that extra power. And the 636 still handles like a dream!
@@M4miata would you recommend starting on a 300 just to gain more skill before getting that extra power from the 636??
Lol
Hell yeah i just got my 2016 ZX-6r krt edition and it is my first bike and i'm a beginner its a GREAT BIKE
congratulations! you will love your bike! reliable, fast and cheap parts everywhere.
make sure u do a track day as soon as possible! it will improve your riding skill significantly but also allow u to really open her up! and u can realize just how fast the 636 really is! lol
plus nothing is more fun than fucking up Japanese 1000s and Ducatis (Du-dookies) on the track with the 636! :) good luck!
sick bike dude!
thank you!!! :)
beautiful bike man! Ride safe out there.
M4miata Yep, i agree. subscribed too
How tall are you?
5'5" 135lbs....Moto GP size ;)
this over the 650r for a novice rider?
Yes, this has more power and a higher top speed and more acceleration than the 650r
im used to my motard. easy to learn you think?
Yes. U will be fine! The great thing about the zx6r is power modes. So there is alot of bike to grow into. Start off on low power then when u ballzy switch to full power!
alright man! you really helped out! i am about to look into an 04 zx6r. since thats what i can afford at 17 years of age haha.
Your welcome .
Some other budget bike ideas are:
600 sport bikes that have been converted to naked bikes
Ninja 300/250
Dual sport with street tires (very fun bikes)
Suzuki Sv 650 (another fun and cheap bike! I rode my friends SV and it was blast to ride and sounds like a Ducati)
had to come back here ONE more time just because I agree 100% with everything you've said in this review. Just last year I took home my second bike 2013ninja with low miles. All I have to say is----------------JOLLY BALL SACKS it's one hell of a drug-imean BIKE!
how tall are you? nice bike btw!
5'5'' 135lbs
i'm quite short too :( do you have any tips on when stopping at a curb before entering the street, on uphills and downhills and crowns etc??
Ya lean to one side and stop the bike before the Dip and frame sliders lol
much appreciated!
Mupkid New vid up hope this helps you out! ua-cam.com/video/ZJokcvycw_4/v-deo.html
Nice bike bro.... But you made a big mistake passing on the Daytona 675.
Robert Smith I love the 675r but u cant beat how cheap the 636 is. plus for a track and street bike the 636 does a good job :) but if I crash my 636 my next bike will be a 675r
hey bro is there a fuel gauge
no but u really dont need one. u will use the slipper clutch and traction control more than a fuel gauge. lol
-m4
Thanks for the video I'm looking to buy the same as you.. Really helpful!
Shihab Jiddawi No problem! Good luck!
i love it, gonna be my 1st bike to :)
You will love it!! Such a bad ass bike!! Ride at your own peace tho!
-M4
how much did you buy it for?
its a 2014 zx6r and back in mid 2014 I got it for 12k out the door.
+M4miata nice, i just bought a 2015 zx6r today i think i overpayed by a couple hundred. I picked mine up for 12.3k
And i don't like power modes if I give it full throttle I want full throttle all the time but I love the bike though this is my dream bike
I love the power modes when its raining in the middle of the Fall with wet leafs alllll over the road....I don't want full power then lol
i'm pretty sure you have the track or sport mode which is pretty much full power all the time just like how it would be without the power control
250 crap is for people with no self control
my first was a 98zx6r no accidents
2nd 03 cbr600rr down 1 time hid ballast came off side mount and blocked forks from turning ran myself off road at 50mph
current 2015zx14r safest bike ive had yet
Any of these bikes with self control are fine. 250 or 14r going down at 80 will hurt the same
hahhahah I agree its all about the self control! a 250 n the hands of a reckless rider is just as dangerous as being on 600s. thats why I tell people to get the bike they want but control that right hand of yours!
cheer bro and safe riding!
Aye bro message back, I'm 5:10 and 135 lbs lol your sure it isnt to heavy?
You will be fine! I weigh the same as you do and there is a video of me crashing and picking the bike back up by myself. The video is on my channel. You will love the bike!
Reproductive organs I love how you said that lol
awesome vid glad to see more folls go to 600cc as first bike. i to atarted on one. but is no where near 140 bph sheesh lol
hahah! It is an awesome bike! Tough as nails!! 25k miles later and still going strong at the track and daily commutes! More than enough power to kick ass on the track and plenty for "on the way to work" wheelies! ;)
ABOUT A WEEK AGOOOOOO! !!
Tony Latigo thought the same thing
Fuck the haters man good for u!
I personally hate traction control and abs I wouldn't start on a bike with it, it will make you a worse rider in the long run
I love it for the peace of mind and added safety. But u don't need it.
Saying you where good at the msf douse not mean your a good rider they pass every one its impossible to fail
I am no means an expert rider. I am just very comfortable on my sportbike ;)
Vertical Peasant
lol I got you better to have those instead huh
don't ride it in the snow please lol
carnafillian113 I agree. I draw the line at snow. but if I had super moto or dual sport I would! lol
M4miata bro if I had a dual sport my life would be different lol. But I'll have only a street bike until I graduate college ($). U still have the 636?
Bruuhhhhh. Couldn't take my eyes off your helmet on the ground. Unless your heads in it and your on ya back.....it should never be on the ground.
how tall are you?
5'5'' and I fit very comfortably on the bike :)
