- I’ve be searching to an in-dash pocket sleeve to replace my old CD Changer, but they don’t make one for my year. So I decided to do it myself.

I have a 2005 Escalade and I took that same trim bezel apart. I pulled the cd changer out then I cut out the clock and small compartment beside it. Then I built in an iPad tablet in there hooked up to a USB through the inside directly to my alpine stereo. Now I can watch movies in my truck, Netflix, HBO max, prime video, UA-cam, I also have tons of music stored in it!
That sounds like a dope set-up!

That’s dope! I been wanting to remove mine and this gave me an idea. I’m going to put a wireless charging pad in that space to charge the phones instead of messing with the cords. Thx for the video. Liked and subscribed.
Awesome man! Glad it helped. I know a company makes a charging pad that installs in the center console top door. It’s pretty slick, you can set your phone on top. I can’t remember the company’s name tho. Thanks for subscribing! More car content to come...

Man, i wonder if you could wire in an aux bluetooth through the cd changer wire harness
They do sell universal aux plugs. I thought about that as well.
@MrGriffin23 it would seem there is a power source and signal wires right there. And just use the CD button on the factory head unit.

I believe that should would. Depending on volts required to run it.

Hey do you have a double din stereo in it??? Can u just replace the bezel dash with a 03 Escalade and should work??
Unfortunately not. It’s only big enough for 1.5 Din on these years. I think 05 you can do Double Din, but honestly not 💯 on that.
Hey I cant figure out how to get the middle cup part off. I saw you told someone else that it pops off but where exactly lol I'm lost as to where to start
That entire center section where the cupholders are should just pop off if I remember correctly. They are ok there tight, but should be just clipped in. You might have to un-screw the arm rest portion and take off the console face where changer is first (I cant remember), then can pop off easier.
Does the stereo sound change at all if cd changer removed??

Hmm... quite possibly. The opening might be a lil’ narrow
I added a double din have no use for the cd changer. Figured I’d try and get a flip out in there might look pretty cool I’ll let u know how this goes lol

@@MrGriffin23 Seems I was mistaken, I had a burnt out ignition fuse the day after taking out the cd changer, just ironic timing probably not related.

Appreciate the feedback. Everything is old on this truck including the CD changer as it’s outdated and doesn’t work. This storage is more useful.
