Hi sorry to resurrect an old thread but you just popped up. I have a 2000 ML430 and find it interesting that many components can cause the ESP warning lights etc and beeping. What code did you find or was it simply live data read out. My ABS goes out and I consistently get C1300. I have tried various fixes including my last change of the ESP module with a used one. I was good for two days and now back to every time I drive. The only test its failed is no power across 2.46 and 2.23 in the connector. No describes this test throughly so I don’t know if key on, connector off is valid or it has to be plugged in. I of course replaced the relay K25 and F22 looks good. I have gotten an intermittent C1314 but also seems to point to lost contact to ESP control module, any thoughts? The only independent tech I trust does not work with after market parts which is all that is possible on my older ML
This was a long time ago but I remember that there were many codes related to the stability system. Think this fixed them all but there are several other sensors that could likely cause similar codes. Probably worth the diagnostic if you don't have the equipment to do it your self. Good luck
w163 can't move forward when one wheel on the same axle goes free, brakes apply, same situation, on muddy ground, the brakes lock, can't move forward, malfunction lamp does not come on, what could be the problem?
The scanner is the newest Snap-on brand scanner. Most of our dealers in the US are mobile trucks that go from shop to shop. Honestly, I jumped the gun a little when I bought it. I love it but there are other significantly less expensive scanners that will do much of the same thing. In addition you have to pay yearly to keep active software. I would look at the Bosch if I where going to buy another.
Great video. I'm a car guy. I have these codes. C1140-8 C1142 C1022 Light goes on and off. 1999 ML 320 140,000 miles. Car is in great condition and very well maintained otherwise. Any ideas? Thanks
Sorry, but I am not %100 sure. I know that you will indeed have lights on and that you traction control will surely be disabled, and it may mess with your braking.... But I can not confirm if the car will still operate without the sensor in place. Never had a reason to try... Responded before Thanksgiving even!

Aloha Don, when they go into "limp mode" they flash like every light on the dash. It shut them all down.
