- Our weekend in Westport, Washington didn't go as planned, but we still had a relaxing trip nonetheless. We stayed at LOGE, a hotel catered to surfers.

Yes the PNW is beautiful! The area is known for Dungeness crab which typically runs from late fall and into early spring I believe. And yes Aloha Alabama was interesting indeed. The town doesn’t have a lot of options but their food was good.

At least you both tried. Under those kinds of conditions, your best bet is the third spot known as "Fingers" (the place with the number of small jetties). Hit Fingers when the tied is low. Fingers is pretty decent whenever West Haven "The Jetty" beach and the other spot "The Cove" are no good.

Love your videos! The first spot you stopped at is a skim boarding area. With waves are really big on the other side then you should stop there and paddle out. On rare occasions a longboarding swell will come through. It is worth a shot when the waves look like and you feel like you got out into the water while practicing your paddling.
Another good beginner spot is up in Port Angeles, Washington. It is usually much smaller there. Good luck and keep up the vlogging.
Thanks for the heads up! We went to Westport back in October when the conditions were more favorable, maybe we’ll try again this summer. I’m on the Washington surf Facebook group where they post daily videos for the spot in Port Angeles. Definitely on my list to check out. Thanks again so much for following our journey!

And you have to paddle out a ways to get to the even waves
We were very much beginners at this time but now that we’ve progressed we’ll give it a better shot next time we go!
