🥚Jackie and Shadow are letting go of their unhatched eggs and continue their incubation withdrawal process. On 4/11, one egg was broken and disappeared in the bowl. It is unclear if there was any development inside. On 4/13, Jackie consumed at least one remaining egg (no signs of development). The last (third) egg may or may not still remain in the nest (hidden in fluff).
We have no way of knowing why the egg did not hatch. It could be environmental, such as temperatures, humidity percentages, oxygen levels at high altitude, etc. It could be biological with something just being off at the time the eggs were created. It is very unlikely that either Jackie or Shadow are infertile since they have already had 2 sets of chicks together - in 2019 and 2022.

What a wonderful and sweet surprise to see them both in the nest again! They were both ready for their close ups! The ending of this video was beyond heart warming. I'm glad they're getting to spend time together now, after all they've been through. J & S are much more resilient than most of us gave them credit for. This made my day. ❤🦅❤️🦅

One thing we can count on. Jackie seeing S on way to nest with a fish--and she knows who it's for. Her delightful cries ring out from her on the fly to the nest--something,it seems, many never tire of hearing Eggs come and go--some hatch into Eaglets and fledge into beautiful adult Eagles, but closer to something being eternal is Shadow's love for his mate and her heartfelt expression for it by a simple act of bringing a fish to the Nest. Years to go in a Nest Life--and many adventures before them to experience in that time. Thanks for Posting Cali.

@@hherroyal05 Both look great and healthy to be fair! I know absolutely nothing about eagles birds in general as just stumbled on these 2 about 7 8 weeks. Does look like a great area plenty water fish & looks to me away from other predators but yep Jackie likes her food lol 💯🦅🦅👌👍
@@hherroyal05it is too late, but I’m grateful to watch these two before they leave the nest. November-March is when she is fertile, so I’m glad we’re still able to see them on the nest-soon they will leave til next season.

My heart weeps for them, nothing is guaranteed in this world. Here in Colorado, the eagles are suffering due to hunters killing the prairie dogs off with no understanding that their killing off our resident population of golden eagles via starvation... ignorance. The life cycle is breaking on the western slope..my heart is sad. Hope everyone figures it out sooner than later...

I love to hear the sound of the wind and the beautiful views , and even though the eggs are gone I still have it streaming in my background while i go about my day. This is my 3rd hatching season. I was thrilled to experience Spirit in my 1st season. I remain thrilled to watch Jackie & Shadow for the story to continue. Three eggs was an excitement!! The eagle pairs' devotion & fidelity is precious to watch!! Seeing the real life nature of J & S, the nest, and their behaviors is AMAZING!! I need joy in my life. Watching the J & S videos regularly and seeing all the neighbor critters "visit" is immeasurable JOY!!❤ Thank you Cali & all the FOBBV people for all the giggles, smiles, laughs, & tears that have permanently stored Joy in my heart!❤ God Bless us all!!❤ AMEN!!❤

I am so happy our local tv channel reported on Jackie and shadows egg watch and even though sadly their eggs did not hatch it has been a blessing to so many people on these comments to watch their journey and in some way unites us with love for them and that is Gods blessing for us all . I have seen other eagle cams and by far this one has the best clarity , color and glorifies the beauty of Jackie and shadow and makes you feel like your watching it right it front of you not filmed …
I only saw one video of Sprite, but I fell in love with her. She will be a warrior just like Jacki. I hope that she has the compassion of Shadow.
They are so adorable and strong. I haven't been paying much attention to these two lately. What 'eagle time ' i had, i devoted towards more local nests where their babies hatched etc....coming back to this nest....I'm struck once again by the MASSIVE size of Jackie. She's a big bird ! These two will carry on, and are a devoted team !
Shadow!!!!!!! So amazing. It’s hard not to attribute human emotions onto them or personify them but he’s such a wonderful mate! Jackie is precious and together they are the Best! I love them so much❤ I’m fascinated by their lives and relationship.
It’s ok to feel emotions and apply them! As humans, it’s how we connect with nature! When we connect with our hearts, we care more about our world,all of it’s inhabitants and the responsibility we have to make space for them❤️

Awww those fish chortles are so adorable! I love how she gently always takes it from him. She's so nice about it. She takes it slowly and never snatches it no matter how hungry she is. She always kinda waits for him to say it's ok.

Thank you for this beautiful video and update. Jackie and Shadow’s beaks seem to be more orange in color than other eagles I have seen, do you know what causes the variation of color in Eagles’s beaks? I read these two mostly eat fish…I wonder if that has anything to do with it? Thank you 🙏

Jackie came very quickly for the fish. Dusting of snow and the pine cone stand in. They were letting everyone know who rules that area afterwards.
Yeah, taking a look at them, you can see that Shadow’s crop is bulging - which means it’s full of food - whereas Jackie’s does not. Even after eating, Jackie looks like she could do with another fish or two.
I’m wondering if that stiffness in her right claw is impeding her ability to catch food for herself. 🤔

🦅 there might be an updraft pushing more cold wind up under the nest, so the eggs could have been made cold on the underside, perhaps the nest could be more insulated in the center by Shadow and Jackie keeping busy building their nest with each other 🐣

Contrary to abandoning the nest for awhile & doing their own thing after egg loss ,they return to nest ,isn't this rather unique to do this. In some sections of country even cams r shut off until mating season begins again. Thank u cali condor for these continuing videos. Such an amazing couple❤🦅🦅
