I think that it is wonderful that Shadow is staying busy by stockpiling sticks or attempting to build another nest even if it is just for the beauty in trying to do so. I think that Jackie watches him and even if a stick falls, she still thanks her lucky feathers for finding such a wonderful eagle to be with.
HGTV should give Shadow his own show lol
I remember feeling quite shaken when we first were able to view our branch manager trying to build a nest in the SDS. 😅

It's curious how instinct draws them to that crook in the snag depot branches, but… it's doubtful it could ever be a decent nest -not like the one they've already got.

Great video Cali of their shenanigans, like you mentioned. So humorous to watch both of them. All the questions we have about it all,us just being the observer right? Is he actually trying to build another nest? Is he just seeing if it will work? He is just stock piling to have a nice supply of sticks just in case he needs one in a moment’s notice? Is it just for practice or just for fun? I think last night you mentioned that is not a great location to try and build a nest. It’s all definitely entertaining for us, we love them so much! They both have quite the personalities! Thanks again! XO

There were different nests used by the previous eagles. Jackie and Shadow only have one nest. They have also been teasing this location for years. 😊
