I think they included just enough of Michael's dance moves to show that yes, that was an iconic part of the original video and they respect it and won't disappoint the viewers who were waiting for it, without going through the entire routine and pointedly proving that they're not Michael Jackson. (No shame in that--there can be only one.) Layne's carrot is a long-running in-joke; he's known as the Carrot Lord, and you'll see it pop up in a bunch of their videos if you watch for it.
VoicePlay is always great! Thanks. Geoff did a great job overseeing and arranging this one; like always. Did you know that VoicePlay is being considered for Grammy nominations for two songs ("Hellfire" and "The Way You Make Me Feel")? Hoping that they get the recognition that they deserve for their excellence. With J. None around, Layne must have a carrot!
Great reaction! You are right, they pay homage to the original but never do copy car versions. Carrots are a running gag with Layne, you will see them periodically.
Someone far more clever than I said that in the original it was Vincent Price, and in this one it’s Geoff Priceless. (If you’re the person who originally said that give yourself credit because I stole it from you.) Geoff’s wife Kathy was not only production manager but also the “floor zombie”. The “stunt zombie” was played by Gruesome Greta from the Halloween store. Rick Underwood, the make up artist, airbrushed her so she more closely resembled Kathy’s makeup. (It’s not like she had a close-up, but they are the masters of a small details. 🤣) I love the part that where J is trying to get out through the door, similar to the original Michael Jackson video. I love how his voice is so tremulous like he’s really scared that the guys are going to get him. Oooops! They did!🤣 🧟😳🎃🥕🤧👻😱🧟♂️ (And thank you for the thoughtful words about how they approached the cover, honoring MJ, and still making their own. On another thread, I read a few comments that said that they should not “tamper” with this song because it’s such a classic. 🤯. So I appreciate the fact that you understand that more than one artist can perform a song in more than one way and still be valid.)
SPOOKY!! Halloween is here folks! VP killed this performance. Such respect to Michael, but yet pure VP flare. Will be watching for years to come.

It’s Geoff with the laughter

Especially if J is with them.

Layne is the carrot lord and has to torture jnone with carrots. Running joke
You definitely looked like you enjoyed this one.
De lo mejor del video:
1) La voz de Geoff como Vincent Price.
2) El maquillaje progresivo
3) Las uñas de César.
