Great story; I took a break to go walk my daughter's dog, and I swear the feeling of impending isolation, desolation and invasion hung over me in a mild, nagging kinda way throughout my walk. The reader is transformed to the plight and situation of the young Americans!! Thank you, Mr. Medbury!!☆☆•°
The same thing happened to me! I'm a chef and the rush started just as things started in this book. It was all I could do to cook all night and rush home to hear what happened.
I cant find many that are believable and without Zombies So i loved this series will just listen again. Thanks for helping some of us poorer folks be able to escape in stories for awhile.

My only complaint would be that America's nuclear arsenal would have been used as soon as the virus was declared a biological weapon. The launch silos and nuclear subs would have been safe from the virus and China would be a glowing afterthought after that.
i was thinking the same exact thing like we also have bases all over the world war ships off shores nuclear submarine bases like come on you think we couldn’t still defend our country
Yup, nuclear would have been on the table once it was a confirmed act of war. A companion mini series on the executive, intelligence and military response would be interesting!

Bro, this series has been on YT for about 5 years and it is written for an audiobook format by Scott Medbury. It is kinda funny because Medbury is an Englishman, writing about an attack on the U.S. He gives us two English characters, the twins Brooke and Ben, who happened to be visiting their grandparents in Rhode Island for Christmas when the Chinese attacked with the bio-weapon, killing everyone under about 16 yrs. old, before the tibia and fibula bones fuse together. It is worth the time Randy. The narration and story are amazing and so brilliantly new and different than every other post apocalyptic books ever written before. Give it a shot man.... I promise it gets better and better by the chapter.

I love this book for all but one thing… there is no thing as an assault rifle! That’s not what AR stands for! It stands for ArmaLight rifle.
Not true assault rifles are a real thing AR-15s just aren’t considered assault rifles. Assault rifles must be capable of automatic fire to be considered an assault rifle.
Assault rifle has been a real term for decades. Stop drinking the kool aid, dumdum.
I’m impressed with the way the author has been able to get the story straight with the way he has written it
I’m only 1 hour in and I’m hooked it’s amazing I hope it becomes a movie it would be the best one out there

i have been listening to this audiobook to go to sleep for the past week or two and after finally listening to it , over the past days i love this audiobook , i’m going to start listening to the rest of the series after finding it through your youtube channel, i’m glad i found these books and the audio version makes it 10x better
This book gives me a strong "Red Dawn" vibe, but reimagined. I think some stories deserve to be told in several guises. And this is one of them. Kudos to you Scott Medbury. Thank you for sharing your art with the World.

This has been very well written and somewhat unnerving given the climate and geopolitics of 2023. There is a terrifying chance that this sort of horror is not fully impossible, however unlikely. A sign of good post-apocalyptic fiction. It's been a good listen.the author does a great job with the story, and the narration is very good as well.
Stumbled on this doing a search for audiobooks i do enjoy post apocalyptic themed stories. So far, it has not disappointed and I'm enjoying the narrator very much, which is a tall order for picky ol' me. I'm reminded a little of The Stand, updated for a more modern era. I'm curious and excited to see what the series holds.

I was listening to this straight through building a new Dental office (I’m a Technition) and was just buzzing along all day. When it was done I didn’t realize where I even was! I was so enthralled with this story that my body went on autopilot and my mind was with these two kids. Amazing story.

While well written and exciting, it also brings up real world dangers, like race specific bioweapons for one example.

I love the simplistic but thrilling approach of story telling here, the author paints a picture and keeps us pulled in. I’m not easily entertained enough to stay focused on a story and I finished book 1 here in two nights before bed, My son listened with me and is really into it as well!

Bicycles are the better way to travel . 10 times more efficient . After all they just have back packs . Some rope you can put sleap rolls on the packs

During WWII many people used bicycles for transporting their possessions. Carefully balanced, you can move hundreds of pounds, just walking beside it and pushing. Someone clever and handy could hook two together and build a lightweight cart that could carry huge amounts. Those big, slim wheels work wonders.
