Wonderful How To video! Explained very well !
Easy!!
I think I have this exact thermostat.
Nest smoke and CO alarms can shut off the furnace with the nest thermostat if CO is detected
How do u know which color wire goes to which one??
Blue is 24 v common (c)
White is heat (w1)
Red is power (R)
Green is fan option (g)
Yellow is cooling (y1)
If you have a two stage HVAC system you will need to wire up W2 with any color that matches the the furnace and wire up y2 with the same color that the furnace has to communicate properly Hope this helps.
@@Bopperspaniel you legend!
Take a picture of the wires before removing them from the old thermostat.
Cuz she is a pro clearly
You don’t it’s in god’s hands
Mine only have red and white
Old thermostat had one wire to RH and one wire to W/B and a jumper from RH to RC (but I don't have air conditioning. The new thermostate has B, O, G, T, W, Not Used, R ad RC. So, where do I put the wires? I'm assuming I would put the RH into the R and the W/B into the W. Is that correct? And I would think I would just not use the jumper, since I don't have air conditioning. Help!
Did your assumptions work out? I've a verybold one to replace also.
Most of the time the letter represent the color of wire that goes there. RH means red hot. W/B means white blue. Guessing the wire was white with blue strip or it could be that either the white or blue can go to that terminal. If you took a pic it would help determine the correct answer
I have a question maybe someone can help answer?
Some landlords control the heat directly themselves ,not the Tenants in some apartment complexes. What is the reason for this? Is it a deal they have with the energy provider and they receive efficiency credits back? I think most people like the ability to control their own Thermostat. I am aware of the warranty laws that the landlord must follow.
They keep it cheap, not comfortable is why.
Agreed! Get yourself a space heater. I prefer the register models vs the ones with exposed coils.
She left out the part about all the different wires you may need to run depending on what you had installed before.
just like the republican party leaving out the facts and science when it comes to politics. X'D

Yeah, it's "easy" if you have the basic knowledge of what to look for in the first place. I just had my old thermostat replaced with a WiFi brand. I utilized the two items in my toolbox that can fix anything from the crack of dawn to a broken heart. A credit card and a phone.
This video actually sucks because it assumes you know which wires are, as the host says, “appropriate.” The colors don’t always correspond between various models nor do all models, especially older ones, use the same wiring pattern. Mine has 7 screws and 4 wire colored while the instruction for my new one uses no screws and shows how to transfer from a 5 screw device.
Going to downgrade the smart Nest thermostat that came with my house to the cheapest nonprogrammable honeywell thermostat I can find. The Nest broke within a year of purchase, first the wifi stopped receiving and then the internal battery stopped holding charge, even after I dismounted it and charged it with the usb. It also had a lot of weird behaviors, even after I turned off the smart features and calendar and stuff. Google told me to just buy a new one. Why would I spend 200$ replacing a piece of garbage that will break in another year when I could just get a simple 20$ one that will probably last forever?
I'm not necessarily adverse to a smart thermostat my Google Nest experience has really made me lose trust in the concept. They are too expensive for how many vectors of failure there are. And I barely ever found myself using it over wifi.
Sorry to hear that. Was thinking of getting a nest.
Now let’s see a video without the old existing thermostat?
Why would I need to adjust my thermostat while I'm away? Turn it off when you leave. Turn it on when you get home.
Pets
In the cold weather areas of the north, pipes can burst from extreme cold.
Please I'm need to know
Rentals with tenants
If you live somewhere that gets below freezing then you need to run the thermostat to prevent the pipes from bursting.

😂😅I busted out laughing , fuck bro.
What if I dont want a straight thermostat? What if I want a gay thermostat?
Then put a stick on shaft
After watching, i have no information from your video! Important is color code! You just plug and plug without any information. Yours having multi cable. But mine has 2 cables? Color code? Useless video
If they showed colour coding and someone had a different coloured wiring and wired as shown they could sue.
It's up to the buyer to read literature that comes with products and wire in as instructed.
