I finally got my hands on one of the new Harley Davidson Sportster S 1250 and it was pretty cool! Over all I liked many of the HD Sportster S styling cues, but there are a few items that would need to be addressed before I would consider purchasing one. The issues may not be issues, I only rode the bike for a little bit. If you can get to the dealer to try one, I encourage you to do so!

Just picked-up mine, but fyi, it does NOT come with standard heated grips, although the button is there for it.
Its such a beautiful bike i love mine it has just over 500 miles and its been amazing so far i cant wait til they put out more parts for it !!

What is the actual real world mpg on it? Is it like the claimed 34mpg or better?

Good first attempt by Harley but I'm glad I opted for the Fat Bob.
*belly pan. Not a skid plate. Traditionally used to catch oil while on race tracks. Probably a necessary feature on a Harley.
Driven it before. Nice bike. My only complain is that the handles are too low. Might be uncomfortable on long distances. Air resistance is quite high as well.

Like you said "SPORT-STER" why do they keep choking the model out on hp? There's a huge market of aging sportbike riders (myself incuded) that want to wean themselves off the jockey riding position but still want the hp.
The case can clearly handle 150hp because they're doing it with the Pan America. Paying an extra $1500-$7000 for the stage kits on a new bike is dumb imo and you still come up short in hp for the group they're targeting. It's a beautiful bike and I'd buy one immediately if it left the showroom with the power I expect.
I was told it was for weight to HP ratio but there's only 40lb difference between them
I might've got one, but that forever reveal made me lose all interest......I doubt I could have more fun on SS than my vrod
Check out my review . I plan to fit the quick shifter some risers drag bars and swap out the standard exhaust .. Also swap out the rear shock and spring . Cheers Billy

I love mine but the staples in the front of the seat digs into the tank and chips the paint
I got a tank protector decal and taped up the staples. Problem solved.
It does NOT come with heated grips!! Believe me. They don't tell you that until you get it home...
Was interested in this bike but after viewing it I opted for the current Fat Bob👍

fugly and what is with the fat front tire and 1 inch suspension?
The idea behind the fat tires is to keep the bike more stable and give you a smoother ride at heigher speeds. Not sure what you're complaining about on the suspension.

They kicked out Night Rood and Muscle promoting new garbage.
I’ve always been for Harley but since they stopped with Night Rod I’ve switched to other manufacturers.
That dealership needs to stretch out there test ride...blink your eyes and you are back...Damn.

Yeah like take the whole highway ride behind the tractor trailer that held you up on the entrance ramp. Really got to see that down tuned motor perform.

Not much effort cosmetically on the left side of the bike, too much cheap looking plastic tubes, radiator etc. Hardly any suspension travel, single disc on a performance bike not a good idea. Seems a slightly rushed out model.
