    I purchased the Midnight Crimson with forward controls ; have the wind-screen , tank lock , tail bag , heated grips and engine guard back-ordered for it. I love this bike !
    Don't get me wrong, I still love my Heritage Springer Softail (2003) antique; but, my Sportster S is going to be my go-to bike , totally dudes !
    Harley-Davison has hit a home run with this motorcycle ; love it !

      I've been away from my channel for a spell. Are you still loving your Sporty?

      @@thatoneguymoto , I loved it right up to the day I traded it for a 2023 Pan America Special... and I love that one more !
      The SportsterS was a fab ride, no doubt, no lie; awesome. But I needed it to go off-road... so the Pan America has all the same power plant (only more power) and all the same tech; more comfortable ride and larger gas tank. So, all-in-all I'm happier with the PA RA1250S now !

    Unlike other Harleys, the clutch and brake levers are fully and easily adjustable !

    Its not as comfortable as my Heritage Springer; however, its not a touring cruiser. This is a very comfortable sport cruiser! I can ride mine for a couple of hours without numb butt, nor numb plums.

    Riders 5'11" and taller will want the forward controls totally.
    I am 6'1" and the mid controls puts my legs up way to high, too high against the tank.

    This is the NEW sound of Harley. Yeah, it sounds like your grandmother's sewing machine !
    And that's a good thing... you can play music in your helmet and actually hear it ! This cleaned up bike is not only green and efficient, its quiet and trim; and all the neighbors are going to like that!

      It sounds better with a pipe. Almost identical to the V-rod

    good job on the review man! I just did one myself and mannnn this thing moves! Faster than any M8 softails (stock) or sportsters I have ridden! Took me awhile to get used to the clutch and shifter tho. Cheers!

      I've been told by an "S" owner that the clutch is adjustable, so that's good to know because nearly killed it at a few stops on the one with forward controls.

    It DOES have auto-cancelling turn indicators. They time out differently under varying conditions.

    For some reason I get the feeling that Suzuki came out with this bike in 1997 with the TL 1000.

      Your grandma rides? COOL! 😎 There was a route for the ride and I am rule follower, so I did not make it to the highway. I'd love to take one out and get the full experience, for sure!

    Test road one a while back. And as a sport bike/sport naked bike rider it was a whiff for me. The motor and performance are there. But the ergos are all wrong and it’s to low. This this should come standard with mids or preferably rear sets. And needs to be 2-3inches taller for clearance. I scraped easy on this bike. They should have gone ergonomically closer to something like the FTR1200 which is it’s closest competitor. Hopefully they address this in the future if they still won’t give us the Bronx

      @thatoneguymoto  2 роки тому +1

      I've been holding out hope that with the Pan America and the Sportster S seeing some success that they'd reconsider the Bronx. I believe that was the bike that would've been a direct competitor with the FTR 1200. This bike is definitely better suited for a shorter/smaller rider, hence why I enjoyed so much, but I can definitely see you're point of view. Appreciate you sharing. ✌🏽

    With the wind-screen you don't want the display any higher.

    I'll have to wait to see how reliable these are before going through with getting one.

      That's fair. It's definitely on my short list of Harley's I'd consider buying.

    My last 3 bikes, 2 V-Rods, one Breakout. At first, this bike appealed to me! But the more I look, the less I like. Which is why I just bought a new 2019 Ducati Monster 821 in red. The V-Rods I liked, because it wasn't a typical low reving, air-cooled Harley. (Porsche was involved in the engineering, which is what I liked) I don't like the big front tire, obviously this bike won't corner or handle that great. And it's good on a smooth road; just don't hit a pothole! Just not for me, great engine though!

    • @thatoneguymoto
      @thatoneguymoto  2 роки тому +1

      I was just talking to someone yesterday about the Breakout being canned. The Monster is a fun bike, and I'm sure you can attest to that.
      Thinking back on this ride, I hope they don't settle on this design and make some tweaks (some you mentioned) along the way. It seems that the new CEO won't be satisfied for HD to sit on their laurels, so hopefully the means keeping existing models in dev to refine them. Especially since the plan is to reduce how many models their offering.

    Funny, all of the "nice features" that many riders highlight on many bikes (smooth shifting, smooth ride, feature laden, etc) in contradiction to "bare bones" XL Sportsters, are to me the very things that detract from the ride experience. To me, the XL Sportsters (and pre-2018 Softails and Dynas) best represent the unique HD ride experience that many HD owners seek.

    • @thatoneguymoto
      @thatoneguymoto  2 роки тому +2

      Every rider is unique and as someone who grew up loving muscle cars and big V-twin cruisers, I tend to gravitate towards more bare bones motorcycles, as well. But, I'm also a tech guy and appreciate the "features" on new bikes (and cars, too).
      Die-hard H-D riders have scoffed at the the 'S', but it's turning heads and garnering attention from a much wider demographic. I'm curious to see if the big reveal coming up next month is a bagger built on the Revolution Max platform.

    • @bernardlesperance742
      @bernardlesperance742 2 роки тому

      @@thatoneguymoto Like some others, I'm thinking the 'big reveal' might be a 'West Coast' style Low Rider S with hard bags and fairing as a total package. But a Bagger on a Revolution Max platform is also a possibility.

    I hear it has a heater grip switch but it does not work. How is my girlfriend going to sit on the back with that seat, and what about the 90 year old lady driving behind me is she going to b able to see the back tail light but the engine is ok run forever and will out live U

    • @thatoneguymoto
      @thatoneguymoto  Рік тому

      I've heard that all bikes have the same switches, even though they're not all equipped with the options (heated grips, cruise control, etc). Kind of a big oversight, IMO. 🤷🏽‍♂️

      @@thatoneguymoto no most bikes don't have heated grips switches u can have heated grips put on , lots of people put them on the Kawasaki 900 but make Shure u always get tubless tires so u can plug them if u get a nail and keep going I have plug my back tire twice and put in some fix a flat
      Stop at a station to bring up the air and two years later I'm still driving on the same tires would have got new one but saving to by a Harley that has windshield to cross country ride with lots of crome
      Girls will jump right on the back plus a fake engine part to stash my weed I'm ready to go

Close call never will I ever wear thick gloves or have head cloth under my helmet
