- 1965 VW Beetle Sunroof Coupe with Very Rare Options For Sale
While all VW Beetles may look somewhat the same, among collectors and experts, the chrome bumper cars are considered the most desirable and the sunroof cars are especially sought after, commanding at least a 10-15% higher price.
Besides having a sunroof, this particular Beetle is loaded with genuine (rare) options, such as the fitted luggage racks both on the roof and engine compartment, a package tray under the dash, chrome dress-up trim on the door panels and sills, seat belts front and rear, and more.
Most important is the quality of the restoration. Beginning as a 3- owner, rust-free example, this car has received all new paint, interior, carpets, headliner, etc.
It retains its originality with all original door glass and sheet metal, and every aspect of the restoration has been done with correctness in mind. The mechanicals have been gone through thoroughly and everything works as it should. She drives, stops and handles perfectly.
You will look long and hard to find a better equipped, finer example.

When I was a kid I had this same green '65 bug with sunroof, clipped off the hub cap clips and reversed the rims to look wider. I look back and think what a young, dummy I was.
Cool classic car.. wish I had one..
Nice car, but find the most fascinating thing about the video is that an engineer from BNL spent 600 dollars to rebuild a simple AM radio.
I don't recall hearing that he himself rebuilt it. I recently sent my Blaupunkt am radio from my '65 off to New York for repair at a cost for $400, so we're talking vintage repair cost here.
My late father was certificate Volkswagen mechanic and service manager at dealership western Pennsylvania but he also worked for Packard dealerships that bought them 1953 through Hoffman a importer that inported them before Volkswagen of America started direct shipping them he worked on the old split window s he left vw late 1969. He said 1965 beatle out the door 1600$ taxes included.
I had this exact VW beetle. Did not have luggage rack or sunroof. But my other 65 did.
The German car that was as American as apple pie! ☺
It was actually more popular in the US than in Germany.
That loveable bug.
wow that is one special car
Tighten your fan belt! Growing up in So. Calif when these were new and EVERYWHERE I have to say I NEVER EVER saw one with a roof rack or an engine rack! To me, they add about as much value as those floor mats!
There's lots of controversy in the VW community over those. Scratch / dent damage for one.
I got 66 with sunroof too
Hello!! Love it! Whats the price for this amazing vw 65 bug?..
Those vent window deflectors are terrible because the metal clips scar up the window frames. And they don’t do very much.
They pull air out. Makes the heater work better and keeps the windshield from fogging. They work fantastic.
beautiful car but why is the V-belt jumping so much.
You jack in the trunk. is upside-down!!!
Where is the spare tire?
How about listing the price for vids like these... instead of people having to contact you first?
Its best to look at our website because prices are subject to change...
nosaj selrauq, ronzor7, Rusty Dusty : your comments are quite silly. Have a look at an original beetle, unrestored at ua-cam.com/video/7cPkvQ5KI88/v-deo.html Jay Leno's. The beetle was a true Volkswagen, a People's Car for families with a couple of kids and a lot of luggage on the roof. Those racks were quite common. The car looks nice, but there are issues with the painting (undiscovered rust ?) and the seats. There is a lot of make-up which might cover som serious problems.
You both know absolutely nothing
Stupid comment.
Never use that junk fuel pump or that junk dist. Get the VW vac advance and Pierburg pump. Lose the fuel filter there is a built in filter in the stock pump. Reliability is the key.
