- Local Coin Shop Pickup (Collection Dump) and a Junk Silver Hunt!
Since I have had several requests for me to do a local coin shop (LCS) pickup video, as well as a junk silver purchase and hunt, I decided to go back to my Local Coin Shop and this time I came in at the right time and picked up a TON of early Silver Dimes, Quarters and Half Dollars!
Hopefully you all enjoy this video as I ended up picking up some really cool coins from a BIG BAG of junk silver - which ended up having some really good coins and a few semi-key date coins, including some Barber Half Dollars, Barber Quarters, Standing Liberty Quarters, Barber Dimes and EVEN some Seated Liberty Dimes!
I may also hit up some pawn shops and thrift stores to see if there are any hidden treasures hanging out in there too!
As always - Happy Hunting and Thanks for Watching AND keep Stacking that silver my friends!!!
PS - My Stacking Silver Hunting Mats are now ready and are listed on eBay, if you want to check them out:

Rob tou should download the pcgs price guide...they update their prices everyday.... You never know if the prices will go up or down
Imagine if you got an 1894 s Barber dime
Does your dealer search through the coins for key dates?
i guess Im asking the wrong place but does anyone know of a tool to log back into an instagram account..?
I was stupid lost my login password. I love any assistance you can offer me!
@Jason Nixon Instablaster =)
It's crazy how much silver coins have went up in 3 years 😳
And now in 5 years, 😂
They are? I have a lot of silver coins from mexico
You give out better details on the coins than everyone else. That's why I love watching your channel. Thank you, Mr. Rob.
a *LITTLE* purchase
And yes, looks like F-12 on that 1903-S barber. That's a great coin. Some light cleaning, hairline marks and a small ding. But still probably worth a solid $40 or so!
First thing that ever got me started collecting is finding a 1891 seated dime in very good condition back in my change
Wow! That’s awesome!
Chase V woah
I first got into collecting when I got a 1922 silver eagle dollar but in poor condition non the less it is a very neat coin
Figured I'd add my story. My collecting began with the holy grail of pennies. When I was a kid, maybe 11 or 12, I actually found a 1931S in my father's change. I didnt know what I had, so when my mom made me throw it back into the change jar, I just kinda did. Ever since, I've been hunting it down. 9 years later and no luck. Happy hunting everyone!
My dad got a buffalo nickel out of a vending machine and he gets a bunch of those out of there are used to get a bunch of those out of the parking meters that he used to have to do for work so that’s what got me into it
My best pull ever was from a pound bag of old foreign coins that I picked up for ten bucks. One was a British penny that probably has been here since the American Revolution: the only letters you can make out on it are "-GIUS III" which can only be George III, and the date appears to be 1780-something. Amazingly, it's in slightly better shape than the 1839 dime.
So I’m sitting here rewatching old videos while I go through a penny box. You started talking about the Franklin dates you want to find and my brain started tingling at me. I stopped what I was doing and grabbed the junk silver halves I got the other day. Of the 13 halves I got, 3 are franklins. A 1949-S, a 1948-D, and a 1954-S. Now I know why my brain was tingling lol
You got a great deal on all of that! Some nice ones there! I wish I had a local coin shop. The only place near me is a pawnshop. The guys there charge way to much!
That 43 walking liberty is gorgeous. Great find.
Wow, that was an awesome amount of old silver Rob, congrats & can't wait for the other videos to come out 👍
Cool post - contributes to my education! Thanks!
Hi Rob, the second slick seated dime is actually an 1837P. Since they were only minted out of Philadelphia in 1837, it is an 1837 No Stars Large Date. The shape and font of the digits in the date and the way they are curved guarantees it's an 1837. If it were an 1877, it would have stars or the legend. Could be worth as much as $40. Super early first year Seated dime find. 602,000 minted!
That 1903 Barber Half, definitely was at least a solid 10, if not a nice 12. 😄👍
Amazing haul Rob! You stole the coins at those prices. Haha. Also, I'm confirming as someone else said, your 1877 dime is 1837. You're estimating the grades a tad high on the dimes, but still a great job on this video! Albums are looking good. :) Keep it up! On the 1900 barber quarter, that shiny/yellow toned look generally is from an old cleaning that has tarnished over from being exposed to the air for a long time afterward. It's common on worn barber coins.
I love me some "junk" silver bins at the coin shops. So much fun to pick through!
Awesome haul RobFindsTreasure !
“1897 S is not a bad coin,” rob it’s not just a good coin it’s great, any silver is great in my book😅👍
WOW!!! 😮😮😮 Awesome score Rob!!
Lakehousebeach Thank you!!!
This popped up in my feed tonight and I had to do a double take on the price you paid. Excellent job grabbing these when you did! I really enjoy your videos. I love your enthusiasm!
Thank you!
Awesome score. Thanks for sharing.
I love that Canadian maple leaf. Next time I go to the coin store I'm going to pick up the proof one in the original box. I can't wait.
That 1903 s half dollar has a fingerprint. I love to find coins like that, gives them personality.
FLORIN FLORINC I have a 1884 o Morgan in a slab with a older looking finger print on it
Little junk silver purchase? I think that's a pretty good size
N/A Reactions 😂 Yeah... it was a fun find for sure! Hard to leave what I left but I couldn’t spend any more!
"Size matters not." JK Rob love the video!
Awesome pickups Rob. My last coin shop purchase was the same idea but was mostly Barber Quarters & 1929 & earlier Mercury dimes (along with a few Barber dimes & halves and a couple Walkers & Benji's). I bought all they had but it only came to $11.85 face. Thanks for sharing this with us. Happy hunting, happy stacking.
Congrats on the Silver Score thanks for sharing
I love those Barbers :)
Jamie coin hunter Me too!!
A little big pick up AWESOME, congrats my friend and HAPPY HUNTING MY FRIEND
Augie Contreras Thanks Angie!!
Watching this in 24 makes me wish I would have been i to this hobby even 5 years ago. $5.50 for a barber is unheard of
Those junk silver bags make great gifts for kids to get them into the hobby
That "1877" dime is really a 1837 Rob, pretty rare
Love the old stuff, great pickup

Cool! Just found my first buffalo nickel in a roll! Possible 1915, and has a D mintmark!
lotsobutter nice find!!
Awesome Rob, At my coin shop they have a lot of junk silver as well.
COOL COINS
this is my favorite kind of video of yours to watch
Nice silver pickups Rob! I bought a big bag of junk silver Roosevelts once from APMEX and there was a toasty 1890 Seated Liberty dime in the bag. My first! I will have to see how much APMEX sells Barbers and Seated Liberty's for... I think they sell those separately.
Herbert Susmann how can you afford that? They’re so expensive!
Rob! You got such a good deal! Wish I got that buy!
You do good things for people Rob, so God rewards you. Nice score!! You need to carry a want list on your phone. I started doing that after I started buying duplicates that I didn't need.
What a great score Rob...congrats! Love the 90%...thanks for sharing!
When I find a coin that has scratches and other damage, I usually would consider it at least one grade lower than the rest of the coin for values.
Love the video Rob, I hope you do more of these
$34.80 face value, I'll give $35 for it lol.
Great score!!! A lot of very nice coins in there. That 43 Walker has to be MS60 or better. Congrats man.
Oscar's Collection I agree! It’s ridiculous!
What a score!...brother you can definitely find those treasures 👍
Au_ rockn Thank you brother!
holy crap! what the heck. Your luck is unbelievable smh
Enjoyed the video, thanks😁

Didnt think itd be so easy
Thank you so much
Mashfiq Mahadi Awesome!!!!
God !! Wow Great purchase Rob! I wish I was that lucky
Nice Score
I love standing liberty quarters! So much detail in them
Man imagine your dealer had people pay $5.50 a piece for 90% halves today, he'd be a mighty popular man. That would be dirt cheap in 2022.
Sweet pick ups man!! GL and HH!
I'm going to say that barber half is a fine-12. According to the NGC price guide in that condition its worth about $70.
Halo02 Definitely a good find for sure!
I just realized that one of my Benjis is a 53p, one of the dates on your mat. I also have a Slabbed, uncirculated 62p and it is one beautiful coin.
Just started collecting, and stacking this summer (2023). Heard you say those prices and Im mad I didnt start sooner lol
Great video. I went to a yard sale and made off with a 1963 red seal $5, a whole tube of no date V nickels and about 15 rolls of wheats all for $30
GA Coin Collector Great score!
I pick up seated Liberty dimes for $2 at the flea market
Woah nice. I paid like 10$ for a seated liberty half dime
K O R i G A N I need to find flea markets!
AWESOME PICKUP!
Hey Rob, on those Barbers, you got to have at least three letters of liberty on the headband for it to be a VG, and a Fine needs to have all letters of liberty visible even though some of them may be weak.
Cool
I like this a lot Rob. I didn't even notice that it was long at all.
Sweet pickups.
Love LCS Pickups ! You found some treasures
Nice
Great finds. We need to make a trip to our LCS.
Thank you for sharing
That 1900-P looks polished to me...
great finds you did really well
Hey, I just found this video today, so I know this comment is coming a bit late, but I found something you may not have noticed. The "1877" seated liberty dime at 14:53 is not an 1877. That right there is an 1837 "large date" variety seated liberty dime, which was the first year the seated liberty dime was ever minted. Considering the condition of the coin, it may not change the value too much, but still and interesting difference in my opinion.
wow good video
Definitely nice additions to anyone's collection.
You asked how many times do we found Seated Liberty Dimes in that condition in a junk sliver bin.
I've gone to my LCS for almost 4 years now and I have found only 3 LIBERTY DIMES & those were put in by accident!! I'd freak if I got a Seated in a purchase!!
Have a Great Day My Friend!!!
Great video rob
You refer to the RED BOOK prices often, but remind viewers that the Red Book is what dealers normally SELL for (or higher), but if you had a BLUE BOOK then viewers would have a better idea for what dealers would BUY them for. A coin is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
I enjoy watching your videos, which shows the good points of the hobby, and also the so-called SKUNK side of finding silver.
I always say, it's the THRILL OF THE HUNT to find a coin in the wild, in circulation, rather than buying at a LCS. Keek up the videos, enjoy watching them.
I’m doing good I’m in los Vegas but your awesome
Yo Hooie Thank you!
Las vegas*
pretty beautiful
using the coin books and the pics on my phone has helped me to fill many empty slots in them. NICE!
Nice finds your albums will be full before ya know it!!! Thanks for sharing really enjoyed watching
The so-called 1877 Seated Liberty dime is actually a first year minted 1837 as some had the square top three in the date, the first year minted Seated Liberty dime with "no stars" and of course Philly minted as the first O mints didn't came out until 1838. Another tell-tale sign is the "No Drapery" variety and you can see both of them side by side in comparison!
Great find RFT i love these videos its so crazy what you can get I'm blown away crazy cool brother
You would have to sell them on ebay to sell them at that price plus pay the fees. They are in the junk silver bin at a coin shop for a reason.
Save Dat Money Agreed. However, I am not buying to resell. I’m buying to stack and collect - of course I will always pick through junk silver bins in hopes of great scores or awesome additions to my collection too.
I found a cc dollar in a dealer common dollar lot. I couldn't believe it and I never said a word. I bought a few so he wouldn't catch it and he didn't even look. Just thought I'd share that dealers make mistakes sometimes.like watching your videos.
Rob! More LCS pickups! Please!
Luke Webster Yes sir! For sure!
Dam that's at least double in Silver you have there.
Lucky 🍀 You!!!! I haven’t even tried to pick up any of the older coins. I would if I could get the kind of deal you got. 👍👍👍👍
If that is a 1915p half it is probably the most valuable half you pulled that day.
Silver is worth it they should not make it junk! Rob awesome seated dimes !
Diana Arbelo Thank you Diana! I agree!
Great score Rob!!!
cool silver Rob!!!
I decided to sent you box of mixed foreign coins and Bill's should get it Tuesday or Wednesday. I enjoyed your videos.
Great finds rob like always. Btw i found 2 silvers in 10 dime rolls
Very nice!
