The singer of FT ISLAND (Lee Hong Ki) also made a solo song featuring the singer from NFLYING (Yoo Hwe Seung) called "Still love you", which is in my opinion one of the most vocally challenging male ballads out there AND IT'S SO GOOD. I think you might like it
FT Island has a lot of Rock ballad songs. Here are some of them: 1. Wind (composed by the vocalist Honggi) 2. Heaven (old song and mv but you may get affected by the mv. it's....sad.) 3. Madly 4. Distance (japanese song) 5. Love sick (their debut but you can listen to the other one which featured a female singer Kim Na Young) 6. Still love (Honggi with another vocalist in a band name Yoo Hwe Sung) Some good vibe songs after the sad songs. 1. Summer Nights Dreams 2. I hope (it's old but can make you smile) 3. I wish 4. Like Birds
Paradise,, Tornado, Crying in the Rain, Fish, Falling Star, Morning Coffee, Last Love Song, Arigato, Flower Rock, Hope, Bad Woman, Shadows, Break Free, into the light, more...
F.T. Island actually means "Five Treasure Island" (although now only 3 members remained lol). Also They are under FNC entertainment, home to a lot of famous bands and idol groups. FTISLAND and their labelmates CNBlue and N.Flying form the acronym FNC. In the Severely MV the actress was Seoulhyun from AOA, another labelmate. You commented on Hongki's (the vocalist) nails, he is very into nailart, frequently goes to nail salon and I believe he even tried to get a license himself. He also is into fashion. The bassist Jaejin has also an incredible voice and he sometimes sings in the songs so if you explore more of them, you will hear it. The drummer Minhwan is very talented, they called him a "genius" in Japan apparently. He also is married to former Laboum member and they have 3 kids currently together ^_^.
FT Island have very good songs, Lee HongGi's voice stands out among Korean vocalists. I've always liked his albums. You have to listen to the single they released on their last comeback 'Unthinkable', I'm fascinated with that song.
Some suggestions: 1. Like you already said you should check out "wind" 2. The song called "pray" is a rock classic 3. An emotional song like "lovesick" 4. "Missing you" is also one of my favs 5. "Insensible" is also very emotional
OMG. FTIsland. They're so underrated. FT Island is just one of the best bands to come out of 2nd gen kpop. They're one of my most favorite kpop groups along with Victon and Monsta X but my ult is Monsta X. Hehe. Lee Hong Ki's vocals should be treated as a national treasure. Seriously UNMATCHED. Some of my favorites from them are from their Japanese releases 1. Mitaiken no Future 2. Orange Days 3. Flower Rock 4. Black Chocolate (maybe my favorite from them) 5. Wind 6. I wish 7. I hope I hope you check out more from them.
I´m a Shawol that used to listen to all 2nd gen groups, back then FT Island was one of my favs... This makes me feel so nostaltig and I love love love Hongkis voice. He´ll give me goosebumps forever ♥ "Don´t love" always gets me! They have an awesome japanese discography btw! "Raining" for example, gosh
As you saw, F.T. Island (Five Treasure Island) used to be a 5 member Kpop Rock band under FNC Entertainment. They debuted in 2007 and they are still active today. However, 2 members left the group in 2019, so they currently only have 3 members. The main singer of F.T. Island, HongKi, is known for having one of the best rock vocals in the industry. He debuted when he was only 16 years old, and before that he was a child actor since the age of about 10, so he has been in the business for a very long time. He is known for his powerful vocals and for having a vocal range that is out of this world. Fun fact: he is also known for his nail art and for the fact that he has a regular appointment at the nail salon, so his nail designs are always changing. Current members: Lee HongKi is the main vocal, Choi Minhwan is the drummer and Lee Jaejin is the bass guitarist. Former members Song Seunghyun and Choi Jonghoon were the guitar players. (When F.T. Island had their recent comeback in December with their song "Unthinkable" and held a mini concert, etc. they used session guitarists to make up for the missing guitar players in their songs.) The story in their "Severely" MV is that HongKi keeps rewinding time trying to stop the girl from dying, but every time he tries it always ends up the same way. Until, as you see, the final try he ends up dying instead. In the beginning you see Hongki at her funeral praying that there is a way to bring her back. When he steps outside he runs into the girl that he thought was dead, which is why he is so shocked. He discovers that time has been rewound. However, the first few times he tries to save her time is rewound to a point where she doesn't know him, which is why she pushes him away when he hugs her or tries to hold her hand, etc. Other times, time is rewound to a point where they are in love and in a relationship. In the end you see her in the church with the time travel watch praying for things to turn out different. So you're supposed to guess that she may be trying do the same thing that he was trying to do in order to bring him back. Yes, "You Don't Know Who I Am" is one of F.T. Island's Japanese songs. They are super famous in Japan. Most second generation Kpop bands actually got their start in Japan. Being a band in the Kpop industry is considered a niche market and in the early days it was really hard for bands to find acceptance in the Kpop industry. However, bands are a big deal in Japan, so a lot of Korean bands first got their start and become famous in Japan. Then once they gain a following, they come back to Korea and build a career in Korea as well. Although K-bands are different than a traditional Kpop group, I still consider bands like F.T. Island to be part of Kpop, because they are under a Kpop company. Plus, K-Pop stands for Korean popular music, so any style or genre of music that is popular with the mainstream public, and is produced by a Korean company, would be considered part of Kpop. Pop music is short for popular music. Therefore, if in America we were to label our music in the same way, we would call it Apop (American pop music) or Wpop (Western pop music), and this title would encapsulate all music that is popular with the mainstream public. Now just like western music, there are different categories under the Kpop umbrella, such as K-hip-hop, K-rock, K-Jazz, K-R&B, Trot (which I think of as most closely resembling a combination of cabaret and western country music), etc. You should check out some more of F.T. Island's songs to see their wide range of styles. Also, if you like bands, you should discover some other bands such as TraxX which was SM Entertainment's band. Trax debuted with SM in 2004 and they were under SM until they disbanded in 2019. Trax originally was a 4 member band. However, 2 of the members left the band in 2007 and Trax became a duo band. And then in 2018 they rebranded themselves and became a EDM band by adding DJ GinJo to the band. Although, they only had one comeback as an EDM band. Fun fact: Trax was the reason Chanyeol from EXO decided to audition for SM because he originally wanted to be a member of a rock band. (Which is one reason why he plays so many instruments.) Or, CNBlue (Code Name Blue) who are currently a 3 member band also under FNC Entertainment, who are also super famous in Japan. And, as you may know, Day6 who is under JYP Entertainment. Each of the mainstream Kpop bands fill their own niche. For example, Day6 is more of a pop band, CNBlue is a classic singer/songwriter band, F.T. Island is more of a Rock band and TraxX was one of the first in the industry, so they have covered a lot of different genres over the years. But just like all Kpop groups, they all cover many different styles of music with their songs -- from ballad to pop to traditional rock, etc.
I’ve seen FTIsland live and they’re my number 1 favourite concert I’ve been to. It was just like hanging out with friends. They even drank beer on stage hahaha. The first time I saw them was at KCON in Paris and they actually brought all fandoms together and it felt like it was their concert. Second time I went legit to their concert and was front row. It was honestly amazing! And they did sing Puppy live lol it was so fun. One member left cause of…. some terrible stuff he did. Another one left to focus on an acting career so they’re only 3 now sadly.
Lee Hong Ki is just amazing. Japanese Shadows is such a great song. Ft island does rock. They are not dark but since Lee Hong Ki, JaeJin and Seunghyun are actors they did drama MVs at the beginning.
It's really hard to explain FTIsland's sound because it's kind of complicated. FTIsland was like, the first "idol" band so they had to really like gain favor with the public and their label really tried to push them to be more commercial friendly. So they had to balance this gaining favor with the public (Korea is not really into rock music haha) by adding rock elements at the beginning but not being too rock. Also, their Japanese releases tend to be more heavy as Japan loves rock music. In Korea, they release a lot of absolutely stunning ballads such as Wind and Unthinkable. If you like "Take Me Now," I'd recommend their album "Where's the Truth." Also, Seungkwan is a HUGE fan of FTIsland which is how they ended up doing that duet. Boo-Seok-Soon, the Seventeen subunit appeared on Hongki's radio show (Hongkira) to promote and they did it there. That clip really shows how amazing Hongki is. Also, you have to find the one where it shows Hoshi and DK reacting on the side because their faces are hilarious. They are STUNNED by Hongki's live vocals.
FT Island is my number one, in k-music. But I always watch the live videos, music videos are weird most of the time xD And Hongki (the singer) has one of the most powerful voices in the music industry. The bassist (Jaejin) also sings, he has a sweet voice
FTIsland's last album 'Lock Up' has been on my playlist since it was released last December and the lead single 'Unthinkable' was one of my favourite songs of last year. They were on hiatus for a while due to enlistment so this was their first comeback after. Actually, that Spotify music taste analyser thing says I have an unhealthy obsession with the band, and it may well be right given how much time I spend listening to them 😂. I really do think Lee Hong Ki has one of the best voices ever, he gives me shivers whenever I hear him. He's also a good friend of Kyungsoo's - they were enlisted at the same time (they were in that musical and they and Xiumin were in a promo video together) and play golf a lot. You should also check out label-mates N.Flying if you want more rock-style music as they are excellent. BTW FTIsland are doing a live concert on 15 May which will be on and offline - I can't wait!
Wind is iconic it is their ten anniversary song. Memory... FTisland members, Lee Jae Jin, bassist lyricist and vocals, Lee Hong Ki vocals and lyrics he has a writing and composing company Hong Tower, actor, Minhwhan singer drummer and actor. Former members Seunghyun guitarist and Jonhoon guitar.
please Seungri has nothing to do with the shit Jonhoon did, all the chat shit and the worst was done alongside JJY. Seungri didn't participate in any of this.
@@Lupita311 I know for a while they were friends. But I believe that if in a situation like this (the reasons that led Hoon to prison) if you bring the name of a person who is NOT involved in the case you confuse people who don't know about the case. Seungri's situation is not the same as Hoon's situation, Seungri didn't participate or even knew about what Hoon was doing (in the same way that the FTIsland members didn't know either). In short, I think you should be careful when telling this story, there is already a lot of false information on the internet and we are talking about a person.
@@Camila-contas all I said is best friends and we know what happened. It was a fallout that happened at the same time and both ended ul where they are. That is all I meant. Explaining has become tiring and I'm exhausted so all I say is both there. People know that S is in there so by saying we know what happened in my mind means both are there, even saying that hurts me. If I really explained how I feel, well it got me in trouble in the past so no. But you are right they should be separated and I should edit my post, when I do let's delete this, fans should not fight it is time for healing.
My first introduction to Hongki was his drama role in Korean Odyssey 😂 But I love FT Island's music now, they have so many different styles and latest album with Unthinkable is so good! (Also Hongki and Kyungsoo are military musical buddies and still hang out sometimes!)
100% recommend FTisland wind, their latest comeback song unthinkable and pray. I promiae you wont regret checking into them. Wind and Unthinkable will put you in your feelings and the vocals slay.
They debuted in 2007 before SHINEE and they are close to each other. They have many hit songs and one of the KPOP pioneer. They have various discography in both Japanese and Korea. Recommend (Kor) - Pray, I hope, I wish, hello hello and lovesick( their debut song and still a hit in Korea after 10 years) Japan : theory of happiness, beautiful, shadow, flower rock ‘Hongki’ the lead vocalist is one of the best vocalist in Kpop and Korean loves his voice so much. His famous song are still, as ever (you’re beautiful OST) and l’m saying ( the heir OST) And many solo song. their concert and live performances are AMAZING. Their stage presences are NO JOKE. They will have an online concert on May 15
FTISLAND is the first Korean idol band, and it is precisely because of the great success of FTISLAND that FNC entertainment exists. FNC entertainment now has idol groups such as FTISLAND,CNBLUE,AOA,N.FLYING,SF9,cherrybullet,P1HARMONY.
there's actually a video of Hong ki(f.t. island vocalist) and Seungkwan singing one of their song called wind. Check it out, promise you won't regret. It's a showcase of their vocals 😉
OMG FTISLAND ARE ONE OF MY FAVS I LOVE YOUR REACTIONS AND YOURE REACTING TO MY FAVS OMG. HONGKI IS SUCH A AMAZING SINGER. They were on my top Spotify artists last month and now
You are right, Hongki in 2011-2013 was really handsome. Well he still is handome but it was his peak era. 5:12 a fun fact: He is one of the first male idols in kpop that did nail arts. He even has a published book about nail arts. 21:44 Right!! Seunghyun is really handsome but FNC couldn't use his face well enough unfortunately. Take Me Now is a masterpiece. It's still one of my top3 FT Island song. The other 2 are Memory and Beautiful (the Japanese one). I recommend you to check them out as well. 33:30 If i describe FT Island's music simply, it's like %40 of Take Me Now, %40 of Severely, %19 of You Don't Know Who I Am and %1 of Puppy. 😄
in the Severely MV. she died. At the church his grief caused time to go back so when he bumped into her ouside she didn't know him because they hadn't met yet. He knew what day her accident was going to happen so he was trying to prevent it from happening. The rest, you saw
My favorite FT Island song is Don't Love. It made me cry just from listening to it and I had no idea what hongki was singing about but the emotion in his voice in that song made me sob. I had no idea who they were before that either. I also recommend Jaejoong's Breaking Dawn, Mine, Just Another Girl and basically any of his live performances. For another sad drama like MV I'd say JYJ's In Heaven.
OMG I love FTisland!! they were my gateway to kpop back in 2012 and Hongki's voice is iconic, so unique, emotive and powerful! They became immediately popular with their debut song "love sick" and are still iconic. I got to see them live back in 2017 and they were AMAZING!! People have already recommended a lot of amazing songs to check out but if you are interested I will definitely recommend checking out some live performances in the future too!!
From my understanding (correct me if I’m wrong). In the beginning of ftisland’s career, the company didn’t allow them to do the kind of music they wanted to do- they made them be very pop/pop rock but once they’ve been out for awhile the company allowed them to express themselves and that’s when we started getting the heavier/dark concepts because that’s what they liked to do. “Pray, Wind, hold the moon” - I think you’ll definitely like. “I hope” is one of their early early songs and they are very young and cute and it’s probably my most guilty pleasure song from them. “Do you know why?” Is probably my favorite bside tract and you get to here jaejin sing the verses. He does sing as well. ❤️❤️❤️
Ah, they have so many classic K-rock and J-rock songs. 💖 So, based on your taste: Wind, Pray, Shadows (Jp), Hello hello, To the light (Jp, title track), Crying in the rain (Jp, not title track, emotional but powerful) , Shiawa theory (Jp) , Identity (japanese, not title track), Just Do It. Another ones that I personally love: Madly, Love sick, I hope, I wish, Love love love, Bad woman.
FT Island is more on the hard rock and rock ballad side. But they are always trying out different genres and that's one of the things I love about them. There's always something new. You can listen next to WIND (ballad), PRAY (rock), Unthinkable (ballad, latest release), Paradise (has the same vibe with You Don't Know Who I Am), God Bless You (J-rock). There's a lot more since they've been in the industry since 2007 😂 thanks for giving so much time for FTISLAND! 💛
Crying in the Rain, Future, all live are the ones I recommend. Korea is Karaoke mad as you know and all the men young and old love doing Hong Ki songs. Lee Jae=jin is the bassist and has a great voice too (his song Love like the Movies is to die for cause it is so catchy and the video with the N Flying guys being his band is so cute). The one you kept thinking was hot is Song Seung -hyun, sadly he has left to pursue his acting. Hong Ki is a great actor too. You will adore the video with Seungkwan. Its on Hong Ki's radio show and you can see how much Seungkwan loves him, I think its Hoshi and DK ( I haven't dived into my Seventeen yet) are there too and are fanboying big time. You will have to watch it a few times to be able to see all their excitement. I could go on. I can get a bit carried away.
Omg yess, i didnt know i needed a reaction of yours of FTISLAND until this notif came up. I'm so happy you reacted to them, they are amazing. I think you'll love also "unthinkable" and "wind" from them, their ballads are just incredible. Also their vocalist, Lee Hongki, have one of the most incredible ballads i have ever heard with N.flying vocalist, Yoo Hweseung, called "still love you", knowing you like amazing vocalist you'll be shocked
Thank you for reacting to FTISLAND. I'm a fan from day one and I'm always so happy when someone else finds them. I would recommend their songs "Pray", "Wind", "Madly", "Quit" and their newest song "Unthinkable". Lee Hongki also has an amazing Japanese solo song called "Pathfinder"
I actually got introduced to Kpop through Hongki. Back in 2014 he was in a drama called “Modern Farmer”. And one day I was watching Hulu and wanted to watch Modern Family, and accidentally clicked on “Modern Farmer” instead. And it was so funny that I automatically got hooked. Then I checked out Hongki’s band and got super into their music too. They have some really amazing stuff. My favourite is their song Pray, and that entire album is actually really good. The band has been through some rough times lately. Jonghoon turned out to be a real scumbag. He actually just got out of jail. So that was hard on the rest since they’ve known him since they were kids. They debuted when they were teens and were trainees before then. And then Seunghyun left the group. So now it’s just Hongki, Jaejin, and Minhwan. Minhwan is married to Yulhee who used to be in Laboum. They have three kids.
Omg just came from your Beast video and you also reacted to FT ISLAND!!!!! 😭😭😭 back in 2012, my little fangirl heart only listened to BEAST and FT ISLAND ahhhhh They don't do as many ballads as they used to. sadly. Lee Hong Ki wanted more rock, so they slowly transitioned their sound to more rock. but his voice is sooo well suited for ballads. Their Japanese albums are more hardcore rock. I had the hugest crush on Jaejin, his voice is lovely btw~
omg FTISLAND my most favourite band! Thanks for reacting to them 😍😍😍😍😍 Since you like Take Me Now the most, I’ve listed down some of their songs with similar energy + my fav b-sides : [KR] - *Pray / Out of Love / No Better Days / Sight of Ring [JP] - *Beautiful / *To the Light / *Shiawa Theory / *Shadows / Aqua / Shinin’ On / Hourglass / Identity / Crying in the rain / Tornado / Cycle / 1234 * MV I love their discography there are many more 🥺 You should watch their live performances too! Try to give them a listen, guess you’ll like it 😉🥰💛💛💛
My favorite boyband ever! I'm Primadonna since 2011 and I definitely really enjoy seeing more people know about this talented band. P.s.: One of the ex-members, the ex-leader is now the unmentionable for the fandom and the group. He did horrible things and was sentenced. So our fandom prefers to just focus on the three guys who are still in the band (Another member retired a while ago, now there are only three left)
WOOOWWW!!! Thank you for find our treasures. Its really rare to find FTISLAND music reaction now. I'll recommend you some their song. I see you like more rock genre, I suggest to hear BE FREE, GOD BLESS YOU, PRAY, SHADOWS, FADE OUT, BLACK CHOCOLATE, TO THE LIGHT. They are just comeback at December 2021 with UNTHINKABLE and you should hear the whole of album LOCK UP. Please check out another their album like : - I WILL - WHERE'S THE TRUTH - OVER TEN YEARS Yeaahhh!!! PROUD TO BE PRIMADONNA (FTISLAND fandom name) DO YOU KNOW FTISLAND? DO YOU KNOW PRIMADONNA? Okay, I'm done :)
I'm so glad you liked them, FTIsland are my ult kpop band, & Lee Hongki is in my top 3 male vocalists of all time, when they debuted they were the first band concept group put together for the kpop market and were very much an experiment from their company, and when it worked they pumped out more bands like CNBlue and Being a 2nd gen group there was a break for enlistments, and actually Hongki was in that video Kyungsoo and Mini did for the government right before they got out, and are now 4 members since losing 1 to that huge scandal
Omg! I'm so happy you reacted to them, they are like my ult group. I recommended some of their lives on twitter forever ago, their discography is incredible and covers a lot of sounds, their hard rock songs are amazing and they're ballads are incredible though some of their more pop ish tracks have a hold on me as well. Songs like Take Me Now would be What U Want, The Night, 1234, Pray, and Shadows. Hongki is a korean vocal legend, not many can stand up to him in regards to vocal power and all the members can sing which is why I highly recommend their live performances. Also if you want a cool comparison of Hongki's voice vs another kpop artist he did a little collab with Seungkwan from seventeen where they sang FT Island's song Wind. I do hope you'll be able to react to them more in the future, they just came back in December after military hiatus with a ballad but I think are planning on an album or another comeback within the year to celebrate their 15th anniversary.
Ahhhhh!!!!! FT Island!!! The one you thought was handsome in You Don't Know Who I Am is my bias Seunghyun! Unfortunately he's not with the group anymore. So when I first got into Kpop around 2010 FT Island was #1 on my list for YEARS. Literally. Now they aren't as active but my original list was always FT Island #1, SS501 #2, and Infinite #3. The 4th and 5th spots would change here and there but it was usually kept by U-Kiss or Highlight or Super Junior. The bass player Jaejin actually has a really good, clear voice too! I love it when he sings on their tracks b/c it complements Hongki's richness/huskiness.
Love seeing more people getting into FT. If you plan to react to more of their stuff, you should check out any of their Falling Star live performances, it's such a fun and comforting song and them performing it is a great pick me up. Loved the video! ♥
Woah, I was not expecting you to react to F T Island :o They actually lead me into discovering k-pop back in the day, love them, so glad you reacted to them and enjoy their music.
Lee Hong Ki did one of the ivonic dramas sort of like Boys over flowets, with Park Shin Hye, you are beautiful. He is a child actor, an actor, singer, nail artist (no joke, he has a book on nail art), he has a clothes line, skull hong, variety shows, theater actor he does musicals now he is doing Mata Hari,. My favorite Ftisland songs, Aqua, memory rovk version, Wind, Paradise.
Tbh me too, when people asks me what genre of song i dislike the most i'd say rock and all of its elements such as metal or punk, but when asked who was my very first kpop artist that i stanned, the answer is ft island. When my friends got to know them they are almost wearing the same expression lol 😅 they got so confused that i dislike rock but i stan ft island. My answer would probably like you, not a fan of rock but their energy is just different! It's worth to listen to their songs, trust me, they're not rock 100%-ly like the entire of their songs are rock, some bsides are also in pop genre too! And also some ballad! My personal recommendations for you are : 1. Wind 2. I wish (you might not a fan of this song? but try to react to it too) 3. Pray 4. Theory of Happiness (it has 2 version but original one is Japanese) 5. Flower Rock (also 2 version, original is japanese) 6. Love Love Love 7. Summer Night Dream For bsides, my fav all the time is : Girls Don't Know, this song idk why but very hooked on me. Also, Distance this is rock ballad and it's in Japanese but the lyrics are so sad 😭
Some other amazing kbands are n.flying, cnblue, th rose and lucy. People thend to overlook the korean band scene, and i'm so sad about it, bc it is amazing and really diverse
Austin you have made my day. I am an ELF, EXO_L, Shawol, but these guys are the bomb. Hong Ki has the best voice in Korea ( ok Baekhyun Yesung and Onew sorry). I am so happy. These are not the songs I would have picked for you but hey its a start.
Yessss FT Island! I like that they have a bit of everything for everyone to enjoy, personally, I like their heavier music but some ballads are bangers too. Some other heavy rock songs I like are Pray (more aggressive than Take Me Now but understandably since the lyrics are about the Sewol Ferry tragedy), The Night, What U Want, and Save Me (more orchestrated than rock but still incredible)
it's been a while since somebody actually react to FT Island! thank you for this :) i suggest you to listen (or watch their MV) - Beautiful, Pray, Shadow and their latest number Unthinkable. enjoy!
Wooo I'm glad you reacted to F.T. Island! I personally find their japanese releases more to my taste, but pray and take me now were up there too. I love loooove severely but I'm such a sucker for big super dramatic songs with male voices that can go high lol. Since you mentioned AFI at one point. I'd be very curious to know your opinion in Davey's voice!! He's one of my favorites but I've always felt his technique or lack of has really damaged a uniquely naturally amazing and versatile voice. Also the change of music style ofc but I don't think he has it in him anymore to produce vocals like in the sing the sorrow era. Would love seeing you react to more rock bands in the future. Have an awesome day 😁
The one you said is handsome is Lee Hong Ki, the main vocalist. I first knew him through his acting in k-dramas then discovered he was in a group. There are only 3 members in the group now, Hongki, Jaejin, and Minhwan. Check out their song Unthinkable.
@@ELmayberry The first thing I saw him in was the drama, A Korean Odyssey. After that it was Bride of the Century, Modern Farmer, and I Hate You Juliet. I haven’t seen You’re Beautiful. I just checked and it’s on a K-drama app that I have. I’ll add it to my watchlist because I’ve enjoyed everything else I’ve seen him in.
Thank you so much for the reaction! Severely is one of my favorite sings. One of the saddest things is that the k-pop world wasn't equipped to deal with a boy group that actually paid instruments so the guys would have to pretend to play the instruments. They received a lot of criticism that maybe they didn't know how to play. LOL Hongki started the nail art craze in k-pop. He even has a book on nail art. He's not the typical boy idol. He started as a child actor and still acts today. He was in a musical with Kyung Soo while they were in the army. Here's a video of hongki singing this song live by himself. ua-cam.com/video/Am45pkoW7ek/v-deo.html Take care!
FT Island (together with CNBlue) are 2nd generation kpop bands. They're really really populair in South-Korea. The main vocalist of FT Island (Hong Ki) actually played in a Kdrama together with the main vocalist of CNBlue (Yonghwa). The Kdrama is 'You're beautiful'. It's one of the drama's that started the Korean wave regarding TV in other countries. They sang together in that drama. If you want to see a fun live performance of that song please go watch: ua-cam.com/video/gHu6Ul5i1Ng/v-deo.html
Thank you for this great reaction! I first heard the main singer Lee HongKi’s voice in a kdrama and so I looked in to their music and fell in love. They are the reason I started listening to korean music. Take Me Know is one of my favorite songs of theirs.
FT ISland is one of the best Kpop bands out there..not to overwhelm you but you can also listen to another band CN Blue w/c is also a group under the same company as FT Island
Take me now is my favorite ft island song too! Wind is incredible as well. They also have some great b-side's. Also I would love for you to do more k-bands! Some of my favorites are Onewe, LUCY, The Rose, N.flying and Hoppipolla. Every single one has incredible vocals, and great music.
Hello. I love your reaction. I have a feeling you would love a lot of kband. I don’t know much about FTISLAND, but “Wind” is a banger. Also you should check out N.flying under the same company, they had a cover of Taeyon’s “I”
The singer of FT ISLAND (Lee Hong Ki) also made a solo song featuring the singer from NFLYING (Yoo Hwe Seung) called "Still love you", which is in my opinion one of the most vocally challenging male ballads out there AND IT'S SO GOOD. I think you might like it
austin NEED to hear this song
Any of Ftisland/Hongki songs are challenging period ,the guy is constantly belting F#4-Bb4 lol not everyone got the technique to handle that range
AGREED!! I can already imagine Austin's face hearing this song
Lee Hongki will forever be one of the legendary voices of kpop/kmusic
yesss 🥰
true
Amen!
FT Island has a lot of Rock ballad songs. Here are some of them:
1. Wind (composed by the vocalist Honggi)
2. Heaven (old song and mv but you may get affected by the mv. it's....sad.)
3. Madly
4. Distance (japanese song)
5. Love sick (their debut but you can listen to the other one which featured a female singer Kim Na Young)
6. Still love (Honggi with another vocalist in a band name Yoo Hwe Sung)
Some good vibe songs after the sad songs.
1. Summer Nights Dreams
2. I hope (it's old but can make you smile)
3. I wish
4. Like Birds
Paradise,, Tornado, Crying in the Rain, Fish, Falling Star, Morning Coffee, Last Love Song, Arigato, Flower Rock, Hope, Bad Woman, Shadows, Break Free, into the light, more...
Honki is also a great actor and well known for his nail art!
Unthinkable by ftisland is one of my favs and it's a ballad
Some suggestions:
1. Like you already said you should check out "wind"
2. The song called "pray" is a rock classic
3. An emotional song like "lovesick"
4. "Missing you" is also one of my favs
5. "Insensible" is also very emotional
OMG. FTIsland. They're so underrated. FT Island is just one of the best bands to come out of 2nd gen kpop. They're one of my most favorite kpop groups along with Victon and Monsta X but my ult is Monsta X. Hehe. Lee Hong Ki's vocals should be treated as a national treasure. Seriously UNMATCHED.
Some of my favorites from them are from their Japanese releases
1. Mitaiken no Future
2. Orange Days
3. Flower Rock
4. Black Chocolate (maybe my favorite from them)
5. Wind
6. I wish
7. I hope
I hope you check out more from them.
Current members: Lee HongKi is the main vocal, Choi Minhwan is the drummer and
Lee Jaejin is the bass guitarist. Former members Song Seunghyun and Choi Jonghoon were the guitar players. (When F.T. Island had their recent comeback in December with their song "Unthinkable" and held a mini concert, etc. they used session guitarists to make up for the missing guitar players in their songs.)
The story in their "Severely" MV is that HongKi keeps rewinding time trying to stop the girl from dying, but every time he tries it always ends up the same way.
(Which is one reason why he plays so many instruments.)
Or, CNBlue (Code Name Blue) who are currently a 3 member band also under FNC Entertainment, who are also super famous in Japan.
Thanks for your reaction. Please watch more FT Island MV since 2007. All their song are masterpiece.
Lee Hongki, DO and Xiumin were in the same musical in the military.
Lee Hong Ki is just amazing. Japanese Shadows is such a great song. Ft island does rock. They are not dark but since Lee Hong Ki, JaeJin and Seunghyun are actors they did drama MVs at the beginning.
F.T Island cuz it stands for Five Treasure Island. Yeeey. I just love your recent new bg 2nd gen reactions.
FT Island is such a treasure! Hongki's voice is one of my top favorites in the world!
Former members Seunghyun guitarist and Jonhoon guitar.
i love Wind so much!
please Seungri has nothing to do with the shit Jonhoon did, all the chat shit and the worst was done alongside JJY.

OMG!!! About time! I love them! Please listen to VIXX next
YES FTISLAND!!!!!!! I'm glad seeing you react to more 2nd gen.
Lee Hongki voice is AMAZING!
My first introduction to Hongki was his drama role in Korean Odyssey 😂 But I love FT Island's music now, they have so many different styles and latest album with Unthinkable is so good! (Also Hongki and Kyungsoo are military musical buddies and still hang out sometimes!)
Their lives are a must watch... 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Recommend (Kor) - Pray, I hope, I wish, hello hello and lovesick( their debut song and still a hit in Korea after 10 years)
Japan : theory of happiness, beautiful, shadow, flower rock
‘Hongki’ the lead vocalist is one of the best vocalist in Kpop and Korean loves his voice so much. His famous song are still, as ever (you’re beautiful OST) and l’m saying ( the heir OST)
And many solo song.
their concert and live performances are AMAZING.
FT Island started out with a brighter pop rock sound but once they were allowed to have more control of their music they make harder and intense rock.
I used to have a giant poster of Lee Hong Ki the lead singer when I was younger 🤣 I was so obsessed with his voice!
Please do more FT Island reactions
Their album, "Where's the Truth?", where the song 'Take Me Now' is from is one of my favourite korean albums!
Their albums I WILL, THE MOOD, and THANKS TO are all filled with hits! Peak FTISLAND imo. Highly recommend giving them a go. 😊
in the Severely MV.
Lee Hong ki one of the best voices out there definitely listen to Wind it’s beautiful
So, based on your taste: Wind, Pray, Shadows (Jp), Hello hello, To the light (Jp, title track), Crying in the rain (Jp, not title track, emotional but powerful) , Shiawa theory (Jp) , Identity (japanese, not title track), Just Do It.
Please do more FTIsland reaction!
Definitely recommend any and all live stages by them, they are AMAZING
Omg yess, i didnt know i needed a reaction of yours of FTISLAND until this notif came up. I'm so happy you reacted to them, they are amazing. I think you'll love also "unthinkable" and "wind" from them, their ballads are just incredible. Also their vocalist, Lee Hongki, have one of the most incredible ballads i have ever heard with N.flying vocalist, Yoo Hweseung, called "still love you", knowing you like amazing vocalist you'll be shocked
Ftisland
Thank you for reacting to FTISLAND. I'm a fan from day one and I'm always so happy when someone else finds them. I would recommend their songs "Pray", "Wind", "Madly", "Quit" and their newest song "Unthinkable". Lee Hongki also has an amazing Japanese solo song called "Pathfinder"
Lee HongGi is my favorite Kpop vocalist!!!!!!!!!
Really good actor also.
🥺 my first Korean band, my first love. Hongki’s vocals and stage performance is always top notch. They’re all very talented
Thanks for reacting to them 😍😍😍😍😍 Since you like Take Me Now the most, I’ve listed down some of their songs with similar energy + my fav b-sides :
[KR] - *Pray / Out of Love / No Better Days / Sight of Ring
[JP] - *Beautiful / *To the Light / *Shiawa Theory / *Shadows / Aqua / Shinin’ On / Hourglass / Identity / Crying in the rain / Tornado / Cycle / 1234
* MV
I love their discography there are many more 🥺 You should watch their live performances too!
Please check out another their album like :
- I WILL
- WHERE'S THE TRUTH
- OVER TEN YEARS
Yeaahhh!!!
PROUD TO BE PRIMADONNA (FTISLAND fandom name)
DO YOU KNOW FTISLAND?
DO YOU KNOW PRIMADONNA?
Okay, I'm done :)
More FTISLAND please. Their live performances are top notch
Finallyyyyyy!!! I love FT Island!! I hope you enjoy it!! 💞💓💞💓💞💓
Requesting for a live performances reaction 😍
OMG!! thank you so much for this reaction! best k-rock group ever
Omg I've never thought you would react to my second favourite group! Hongki brought me into K-pop and I still love him!
Thank you for your reaction
I love them so much
They’re legends
Lee Hong Ki's voice is amazing. I love his
solo song "Monologue" 🤩
Woah, I was not expecting you to react to F T Island :o
They actually lead me into discovering k-pop back in the day, love them, so glad you reacted to them and enjoy their music.
Sincerely my favorite
ahh, severely is my first FTISLAND song 😢... 1 really love hongki's voice, and he is so funny 🤣🤣🤣
2023 Still Love FTISLAND 💛💛💛
My personal recommendations for you are :
1. Wind
2. I wish (you might not a fan of this song? but try to react to it too)
3. Pray
4. Theory of Happiness (it has 2 version but original one is Japanese)
5. Flower Rock (also 2 version, original is japanese)
6. Love Love Love
7. Summer Night Dream
For bsides, my fav all the time is : Girls Don't Know, this song idk why but very hooked on me. Also, Distance this is rock ballad and it's in Japanese but the lyrics are so sad 😭
How did I miss this? I love FTISLAND. I recommend “Falling Star” live.
Can’t wait for you to react to wind and the video with Seungkwan
Some other amazing kbands are n.flying, cnblue, th rose and lucy. People thend to overlook the korean band scene, and i'm so sad about it, bc it is amazing and really diverse
Austin you have made my day. I am an ELF, EXO_L, Shawol, but these guys are the bomb. Hong Ki has the best voice in Korea ( ok Baekhyun Yesung and Onew sorry). I am so happy. These are not the songs I would have picked for you but hey its a start.
You need to watch their live performances. Hong ki has an amazing voice.
Yessss FT Island! I like that they have a bit of everything for everyone to enjoy, personally, I like their heavier music but some ballads are bangers too. Some other heavy rock songs I like are Pray (more aggressive than Take Me Now but understandably since the lyrics are about the Sewol Ferry tragedy), The Night, What U Want, and Save Me (more orchestrated than rock but still incredible)
it's been a while since somebody actually react to FT Island! thank you for this :) i suggest you to listen (or watch their MV) - Beautiful, Pray, Shadow and their latest number Unthinkable. enjoy!
hong ki is my favorite vocalist ever. you need to listen to their songs "wind" and "pray" and his colab song "still love you"
Oohhh, thank you so much for reacting them
Wooo I'm glad you reacted to F.T.
Check out their song Unthinkable.
ooh.. really.
which drama.. was Your Beautiful, where he plays as Jeremy. had be crying 😭
@@Paper-Heart nice.. have fun watching.
yess it seems it's a 2nd gen's gems marathon
OMG! Sir Austin decided to react one of my favorite kpop group/ band 😍😍
FT ISland is one of the best Kpop bands out there..not to overwhelm you but you can also listen to another band CN Blue w/c is also a group under the same company as FT Island
please more ft island!! ♥
Thank you for reacting to FTIsland (T^T)
Just realised I only know one FT island song... love sick. It never gets old!
I'm so glad you reacted to them ! :D
23:10 if you want more black lipstick: 'be free' (by ftisland) has it, it's a japanese song
shadows is also a song where other members sing, also japanese
Hello. I love your reaction. I have a feeling you would love a lot of kband. I don’t know much about FTISLAND, but “Wind” is a banger. Also you should check out N.flying under the same company, they had a cover of Taeyon’s “I”
Unthinkable is one of my favorites from them and it's also their most recent. One of my favorite voices in and outside of kpop.
Nice Nice FTIsland 😍
Oh, btw Hongki and KyungSoo were besties in military service. 🤭
