    Thank you so much for this tutorial and for staying with us throughout the whole pattern. So nice to listen to you say each upcoming stitch out loud, so I can crochet without looking. I’m going to cover a pillow insert with my squares. Thanks again and looking forward to more content. ❤

      I block the hearts by dampening them with water and pinning them to foam board grid. I usually need to pin the corners and the sides to make sure it's perfectly square : )

  • @micheleeller1145
    @micheleeller1145 18 днів тому

    Round 4, I get 16 double crochets on the beginning row. The count is chain 2, 5 dble crochet (total of 6 stitches) and at the end of the round 6 dble crochets. Thats 12 between each corner. There's only 11 stitches between each corner on the 3 sides. 🤔

    • @OhMeOhMyCrochet
      @OhMeOhMyCrochet  18 днів тому

      The ch 2 does not count as a stitch - so slip stitch to the first dc to join when you finish round 4. 😁

    If I’m making it for a tall 4 year old… how do I calculate?

    • @OhMeOhMyCrochet
      @OhMeOhMyCrochet  9 місяців тому

      Measure her shoulder width & length from top of shoulder to waist. If you're using cotton yarn be generous with size. Better a little big since the child will be growing : ) For example: if her shoulder width is 12", you'll need 3 - 4" squares across for the back; depending how long you want it 3 or 4 - 4" squares. I have a post on Instagram @ohmeohmy_crochet that shows how I made mine.

    What does block your square mean? (How?)

    • @OhMeOhMyCrochet
      @OhMeOhMyCrochet  3 місяці тому

      Block your square means : 1) dampen your square by spraying water on it
      2) lay the square on a foam board or something similar
      3) place pins in the corners of the square adjusting your square a bit if needed to achieve a consistent size - my foam boards have a grid on them that helps ensure a nice consistent size square
      4) allow the squares to dry - sometimes I use a fan to help the process along
      Blocking can make all the difference, especially with squares : )

    What is blocking the square?

    • @OhMeOhMyCrochet
      @OhMeOhMyCrochet  9 місяців тому

      Blocking is a way to make sure your squares are all the same size with straight edges. I usually spray mine with water and then pin it to a foam blocking board and let it dry.
