- Inkscape 1.2 step-by-step beginner, intermediate tutorial showing how to make designs made up of many smaller objects. Follow along this free course as I show you how to create a main image using basic Inkscape tools, how to import PNG images and easily convert them to vector objects using the Trace Bitmap Tool. I'll also cover the Spray Tool, Clipping, and Arrange settings to utilize the best method to create this complicated design easily.
📱 What screen recorder am I using?
I use Camtasia to make all my videos. From my experience it's the best screen recorder available, and I like the built in video editor and cursor effects. Check it out here: techsmith.z6rjha.net/ba9x0M

like a pearl diver you bring out something beautiful from the sea of Inkscape. Thank you Rick!
Thank you so much. I love that analogy!
Once again, you've found things buried in context menus that are incredibly useful!
Thanks! I love digging around.
Thanks again Rick. Your time and effort in making such interesting videos that extend my Inkscape ability are much appreciated.
Thanks so much. I love how we can always explore more. And, it's fun to see where that takes us.
Another brilliant tutorial! I love your tutorials, they're always on point, well rehearsed, super clean, easy to follow and packed with useful nuggets!! Excellent, well done & thank you.
Thank you so much! I love doing these, and I'll keep at it.
Thanks, GOD bless you.
Many thanks! I am very grateful.
As always, great tutorial..
Thanks so much!
It is perfect! You are cool!
Haha- thanks!!
That was fun to watch, and gave me lots of ideas to get started!❇
Thank you!! Have fun!
Another awesome creation! Get well soon!
Thanks! I think I caught something the kids brought home from school. On the mend though!
"I don't like how big the Moon is" did me in lol
Haha. That moon.
This is like a computer game I have where there is a picture, say a turtle with smaller objects to make up the bigger picture and then the smaller ones are things like find 7 ice creams 5 cats 3 fruits. I wanted to take that idea and make it into a colouring book page somehow, but I have never used Inkscape, so no idea how to begin. Subscribed to your channel so will hopefully learn something.
I love this. I think it will be a base for a t-shirt design.
Thanks!! Could definitely be used for shirt designs.
This was great. I am new to Inkscape, but I am going to try this! Your videos are great! Thank you.
Thank you!!
I am giving IS another try based on your videos, excellent presentation and content is fantastic. Keep it up!
Thanks so much! Just saw this, and I really appreciate the encouragement. I'll keep at it!
thank you so much
Thank you!
I've been watching your tutorials for over a week and man is it new info every video. Absolutely amazing. Love the intro words and music honestly. Keep it up and get well soon.
PS: I don't see the grid tab in Align and Distribute menu in my system. Is that a plugin perhaps?
Thanks so much! Just saw this now, but still wanted to respond. The grid tab is new to Inkscape 1.2. Have you moved to the latest version? Thanks again!
Sir, I learned a lot from your Inscape videos. They are very enjoyable and educational. Thank you very much for that, also a request; Please make a video of the Inkscape Animations (if available in Inkscape). Many people like me would benefit from this.
Thank you!
Phoooh, I followed along your steps, feel like ran 100 miles. Too much for my small brain!!!!
Haha. Well, it took me over a week for my noggin to figure it out, so I'm right there with you.
Hi Rick, I really enjoy your tutorials. Have you ever considered making one for the eraser tool. I think it might be a more powerful tool than most people realize. Thanks a lot and keep up the great work!!!
Thanks so much! I just uploaded a new Quickstart Guide and it has a quick section on Eraser. I could go more in depth on a dedicated tutorial if I could make it more interesting.
nice tutorial. Offtopic zou can improve canvas panning performance bz disabling rullers (ctrl+R)
Thanks Adam! I'll try that. Editing a long video going up Monday, and I mention one of your tutorials.
@@IronEchoDesign nice thanks !
Wonderfl idea again ! And something diffirant on your voice?! お大事に。いつもありがとうございます。
Thank you so much!! I think I caught a cold my daughter brought home from school. But, getting better!
Great tutorial as usual 🙂👍🏼
But it sounds like you had a cold or bronchitis. Please do take care of yourself (hot teas, vitamins, etc.)! 🙏🏼
Thank you!! And yes, I think I caught something my daughter brought home from school. I also filmed this after overdoing it at pickup B-ball. Ha.
@@IronEchoDesign oh dear. Yes, get well soon. Inkscape tuts can wait, health first 😁
Thanks so much. Jasmine tea for me tonight.
I have used the selecting feature using alt key, but it never crashed. I faced crashing issues when I turned on the grids.
If you can use Alt + selection, that's the way to go. Mine kept crashing so I had to do regular way.
Talk that fa Jin movement
You’re Ricky Lee
Nice. Thanks!
Can any one tell me why inkscape 1.2.1 is so laggy when ti was not running on the same hard wear What are the system requirements for Inkcape 1.2 on windows 10
Great question. Whatever the requirements are, my computer must just barely meet them.
Could you have created a font out of the objects then just enveloped them in to the object shape you wanted?
That's an awesome idea actually. I haven't created a custom font set before. Is it something that can be done in Inkscape? Or is there a good program to do that?
@@IronEchoDesign yeah there’s an SVG font editor in Inkscape under the Text/font menu.
Here’s a quick vid on it.

Question. I liked your video on using text to create half a cat. Is there a way to do it with out a black background? (Like the cat with a transparent background with the other half of text that completes the cat with a transparent background too)
Someone has been busy...
Haha. I got really into this one. I don't know why, but I just had to figure it out.
@@IronEchoDesign don't you just hate the OCD nature ?! Haha
Yes, haha. What got me is Illustrator has an extension that automates this process. I was obsessed with making sure Inkscape could do it too.
