    Once again you are serving most complex design principles in simple terms. I'm using Inkscape for more than 10 years and never was so easy to learn so simple of advanced concepts. Thanks for your works!!

    Nice tutorial Rick. Thank you.
    You are great in explaining things in simple and understandable way.
    We would love to know more about you like what do you do, your past projects, clent experiences, career advice, tips, suggestions, tools etc. ( Something like Chris Do does on thefutur UA-cam channel).

      Thank you so much! I love the Futur channel and that would be a dream of mine to add more business-side videos. I went to school for design and graduated with an architectural degree, but my career took me a different direction. Mystery! (kidding, everything is on LinkedIn). I started this channel a year ago for fun and to connect with the community, only after years of planning to start but never pushing record. Now I'm hooked. The only real client that has approached me so far is HBO Max. They are using 2 of my designs in a new series coming out this year. That could be a fun video, sharing the footage, design process and how the business side of things unfolded. You've got me thinking- I could add case study videos (if I get more opportunities) Would people watch that?

    Hello Rick, you are an Inkscape expert, I follow all your projects with admiration. I couldn't find a source on how to make optical illusion with Inkscape. When you look at the optical illusion image, it looks like it's moving.

    • @IronEchoDesign
      @IronEchoDesign  Рік тому

      Thank you so much! I've played around with a few optical illusion projects in Inkscape. Its hard to get right, but if I can solve it, it would make a great video. Is there an example you had in mind?

    Out of curiosity, have you had a chance to test InkScape 1.2 Alpha yet, and would you do a video (review or general run through the features)?

      @@IronEchoDesign looking forward to that! And glad I could suggest something hopefully useful! 😁 I think I already like the new gradient stop bar, which gives you more control on adding/removing gradient nodes. Double clicking on the gradient path has oftentimes been temperamental, closing the tool rather than adding nodes! 😐

    • @IronEchoDesign
      @IronEchoDesign  7 місяців тому

      Thanks! Haven't done a high security design yet. This type of fine line geometric pattern could work well. Best way to move to illustrator would be to save as an SVG. You could also export as a PNG if thats preferred.

    Can I apply few LPE to one path? Or I need duplicate the path and apply specific LPE and after combine paths?

    • @IronEchoDesign
      @IronEchoDesign  Рік тому +1

      Great question. Most of the time, yes. I show a couple examples of layering LPE on paths in the Mandala videos on this channel. Mirror Symmetry + Rotate Copies. Experimenting with different combos will reveal some LPE play well with others and others cause crashing or unintended outcomes.

    Figured it out in the View tab for tool bars.

    Help.. Older vsn of inkscape Stacked open tool tabs in a tile on the right side. The newer vsn wants to create the open tools in a TABBED manner across the top of a expanding tile on the right side. Is the older style available? How?

    • @IronEchoDesign
      @IronEchoDesign  2 роки тому

      Good question. I'll open up Inkscape now and see if there is a solution. Can you give an example of which tool is doing the tabbed manner?

    • @jcbigdaddy9901
      @jcbigdaddy9901 2 роки тому

      Old vsn created a window with a horizontal tab stack. Tabs such as Align, Fill and Stroke, Trace, etc. New vsn creates tabs across the top of the window like a browser.

      Interesting. I actually was messaging one of the Inkscape developers yesterday and he recommended I try out version 1.2. I try to make the tutorial videos using the latest official release and 1.2 is still in production, not totally official yet. I wonder how it will be stacking the menus. Whatever they keep or change, I'll roll with it.

    None of these are spirograph curves, though. They are discrete ellipses, instead of one continuous spiral (hypocycloid or whatever it is called)...

    • @IronEchoDesign
      @IronEchoDesign  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks, and I was waiting for this comment! You are correct. I made the artistic choice to use vernacular. You can isolate each copy and connect them with the bezier pen if mathematically pure nomenclature is preferred.
