Hi Trev, Great video as always and lots of common sense. My first visit to Pattaya was 1991, I'm not a big drinker, never have been. I've never had a problem with any of the bars or workers by just having a coke or whatever. The only people who (in my experience) seem to have a problem with this is farangs who, are either already ~issed or well on the way to it. The girls couldn't give a toss as long as you're paying for their drinks.
Thanks for the information Trevor.I remember one time in a bar off Walking st. and a group of newbie’s were in there having a great time, I could see this fella looking at the bell and he didn’t know what it was for. Well he rang it, the chime hadn’t even finished and the girls were giving everyone a drink, people even stepped in off the street for a free drink.
And the twerp who rang the bell will whinge and whine about 'Thailand/Pattaya becoming too expensive' and will begrudge paying a paltry THB300 (US9/GBP6.50!) to enter the country, despite it being the same price as a pint in London.
Great advice. without discipline of sorts in Pattaya you will not last long. I never forget about 15 years ago sitting in the Pig and Whistle in Soi 7 having my breakfast and there was a guy on the table next to me - thin as a rake and had obviously been on a bender all night (and probably the previous night as well!). He could only eat a mouthful of his breakfast and then saliva started coming out of his mouth into his food. It was one of the worst things I have ever seen, and has stayed with me as a warning of losing control of alcohol ever since.
First time in Bangkok in my mid-20s I was surprised how bad my hangover was. Especially as I drink pints at home but only relatively little bottles in TH. However I then realised it was partially because bottles are easy to lose count of, but mainly because I was rather dehydrated as I wasn't physically accustomed to the heat and sweated pints of water out of my system. Great story. Same here. On one of my trips as a young and dumb fella, I had a two week trip plan. First few nights in Bangkok, me and my mates were drinking rum straight from the bottle. Paid for it for a few days. Hahaha. Then we went down to Pattaya and did it all again. Then rested up and did the same in Ko Samui!!! Bahaja. Slept for a week when I finally got back to the world.
Great video Trev! In my first few trips to Pattaya I was wondering how these girls can drink so much! Why are they constantly working me for a drink? The answer is guys that they make a good little amount off each drink... between 25-50B... not to mention the extra cash for the bar! That can add up! Rest assured that as long as you're somewhat generous with the lady drinks (without going overboard) you'll always be welcomed in the bar! I just spent the month of December in Pattaya and I'm a sober alcoholic (sober 4 1/2 years). Did not drink any alcohol at all. If you are an alcoholic and you come here and drink...you just might be in for a tough ride! Like Trev said...you'll drink EVERY minute! I did throughout the entire times I was here in the past and drinking!
I have seen many girls drinking 'Tequila shots'--only that most of the time ---they are not! The drink you see them taking is from a water bottle that once contained Tequila! Price still the say though! Beware! * A clue could be after '18 shots' she is still standing???
@@jasenwright1178 Why beware? I'd rather they don't get too hammered...I've had Thai girls pass out in my hotel rooms too many times! Several years ago I was in a Pattaya gogo on soi post office having a good time. Just me and a friend the only customers. It was a slow night so I decided to be a nice guy and buy all the girls a drink. Suddenly the girls from the club across the street were also there for a drink. I hadn't planned on being that nice. Fortunately I always have a hidden stash 💸 for occasions when I do stupid things. Which apparently is often enough for me to carry a hidden stash😣. Anyway helping young girls through college is a good cause. With my help there are probably a few doctors out there somewhere. You're welcome😇.
A few years ago my friends and I just stopped babysitting a few guys in our group when we went out . They were becoming to much trouble. Always getting to drunk . I don't want to get beat up or end up in jail . This is even more dangerous if you are in a different country.
I’m lucky in that of my over 40 visits to Pattaya I only got done once, I was stone cold sober and had my first beer of the day funnily enough down the bottom of soi six, so I was completely sober. I remember it well, I bought a bottle of beer, Gave the barmaid a 500 baht note and she gave me change from 100. I argued with her and the boss came over who was a big nasty burly Dutch biker, who sided with her, so I thought what the hell , for the sake of 400 baht I’m not getting in trouble here….they’re the stupid ones, because I never went to that bar ever again, so the real losers were them
You're smarter than my former travel buddy. After making a few non bar girls uncomfortable and almost getting both our butts beat, I decided to travel solo.
Another issue is if you see an accident, even one you are not implicated in, do not get involved, do not try to help. I have not done/seen this myself but I've heard it more than once that people do try to help, the person they help is seriously injured or dies, and suddenly the helper is blamed for the outcome. Hospital bills and/or compensation for the deceased. Maybe you could do a talk/video about this Trev.
Friend of mine was stabbed to death while intervening/protecting girl being abused by aggressive male. Mexico, or some bullshit place like that. Best to mind your own business.
You picked a nice topic Trevor and by doing so you have already saved someone from a lot of troubles no matter what others think about it. In the end, we are all humans and we do get overboard once in a while. Hence, it is nice to be reminded occasionally. Well done mate, keep it up ! 👍👍🙏
Might have been worth mentioning 'Spiked Drinks' and also leaving open drinks on the counter when going to the toilet .... may sound petty but I often order next drinks when just back from a pee ..... it's all in the timing. Also was in a Nana bar once with a mate who was buying tequila shots for a couple of girls .... and I said to him that they were knocking those back like they were water .... check the next ones .... and they were water. I often ask the girls if I can have a sip of their drink ..... often their rum & coke is just a coke. The moral of that story is that it helps to have regular drinking spots (I'm in Chiangmai) where everyone knows your name .... Cheers
Great advice Trev as usual 👍 i wish i saw youtube and your vlogs before the first time i went to Pattaya 😊 ive been to Thailand 7x including pattaya, ive experienced a few situations where young super fit guys show disrespect to either me or thai people working in the bars, ive just ignored them and ive even paid the cost of the beer cooler holder thing they stole to stop them fighting. ive been bin padded a few times but when ive complained they just gave me more beers😬😂 i was lucky , but normally id just pay it anyway. The main thing ive learnt is always be polite in any situation 😀👍 i have more stories but its long enough already 😂👍
It’s kind of an irony that everything in Pattaya revolves around drinking and girls yet the local people also expect reserved passive behaviour. One night I was walking down beach road at about 8pm and noticed two feet protruding from a curbside bush. Yep, the rest of his body was hidden inside… drenched in sweat. When the cops stepped in you could see in his eyes he knew he was in deep doodoo but he was too obliterated to even articulate a coherent sentence or stand upright. I found drama on one occasion when my drink WAS SPIKED but won’t embarrass myself too much with the details. Let’s just say it wasn’t much better. Like the video suggests, drink to your own pace, space out drinks with a water each hour, or only drink for a max of 4 hours etc. It’s a more enjoyable experience to talk about stuff from your day exploring than just sulking about news topics or things you miss back home. I’d also recommend buying sealed drinks in bottles to avoid ingesting harmful ingredients (seriously).
Hi Trevor thanks for the fatherly advice 20 years ago I experienced an English gentleman on Walkingstreet who was beaten up like that by 20 Thai men he made problems in a bar next to P20 or maybe the bar was part of it. bar were not happy and I still wonder if that person survived. Indeed it is not worth making trouble in Pattaya. if you know yourself that you are like that when you've been drinking just don't come to thailand.
Great advice mate. I stopped drinking 2 years ago,my liver was shot,. It was either that or I would meet the grim reaper, I still have a great time in bars over there,I drink manow manow,,,Schweppes lemon.
10:52 In Thai, the letter 'L' at the end of a word gets pronounced as an 'N'. That's why the 'BILL' is called a 'BIN' - it's not because the small wooden pot looks like a little bin.
Apologies if I've got that wrong but it was my understanding that 'บิล' (bin) was a borrowed word from the English 'bill'. Lor Ling becomes an 'N' at the end of a syllable because there are no Thai words (or syllables) that end in 'L' (like the letter 'S')
I think RESPECT is the key word here. You're in they're country at the end of the day, and even if your'e an expat, Thai's brains are wired up totally differently from our privileged Ferrang ones. I am ex Navy and am lucky to have been conditioned to be able to drink large quantities of alcohol and not get violent or angsty in any way. When I see others unable to hold they're drink and kick off back in blighty I'm the first to step in and try to calm the situation down . Fuck that in Thailand, not my problem, like I've said you're in they're country and if you try to intervene you're opening a whole can of worms for yourself. As for Ladyboys.... well I've had a few near misses over the 10 years I've been coming to Thailand. Dont get angry, buy them a drink as you say Mai owl kkap, kub knun khap and get out of the situation without a stiletto in you head. My best memory of this is I saw a beautiful girl(?) In Bangkok on my way back to my hotel and she asked me if I wanted boom boom, I thought ok yeah and we went back to the 2 bedroom hotel suite I had rented for the night with my mate before we headed back to the UK. So we sat in the lounge and had a couple of beers and in the light of the room I could see that all was was as it not appeared to be, I asked her if she was a lady boy and she said yes I am, and do you want me, I said no, but you're here now, do you want to get pissed. He did and he asked if it was ok for him to take his cock tape off and hang free, I was like yeah, go for it. We sat drinkining and watched Batman and the Hulk for a couple of hours then i gave him 1000 baht and sent him on his way. Funny thing was he left his hairy cocktape on the floor outside my mates bedroom door, when he got up it was stuck to his foot, and he jumped around the room trying to peel in off. What the fuck Is this he cried. It's a lady boys cocktape and no I didnt was my reply." Yeah right" was his . Sorry that was a long post, hopefully it gave you a laugh, but just remember...... its theyre country guys, show respect to all, dont kick off, back down. If your in trouble. Ka tord na krup, kub knun Krup and walk away, doing the dow. (Excuse me I'm sorry)
Sorry It means " I dont want it but thank you any way., The salespeople on bikes trying to sell you sunglasses and anything else will leave you alone with that phrase xx
Love the video layovers during the sit and talks. Great topic Trev. Very helpful to future visitors. I streamed you up on the 80 inch this time, let me tell you.....that was a lot of TK buddy! 🤣
THANK YOU, Trev ! Yeah, people are super excited when they arrive and a lot tend to overdo it with the booze. I plan ahead and pick 1 day a week when I tell myself I am going to get drunk. I make sure the bar is as close as possible to my hotel. So I can walk safely home or the cab will not be a big expense. I am a quiet drunk and I will remember if the bin is more Baht than I thought I will still just walk away.
Hi Trev another great chat. One of my best mates doesn’t drink and he has a great time in patts. I enjoy a drink but I very rarely get hammered. Girls really get pissed off if they’re stuck with a complete drunk.
there are som videos about foreigners doing crazy stuff after take meth (yaba), definitely you must to avoid that, and be aware of your drinks, maybe someone can put something inside
The problem is ‘too much’ you can do pretty much everything in moderation. There are many functioning, working Heroin addicts. Too much Sugar, Salt or MSG is bad. Its the word ‘too’ is the problem without moderation. Of course too much alcohol is bad and has bad consequences
Yeah almost got in trouble at one of the clubs. Was plastered and started to dance with one of the waitresses. The club staff was not amused. Thankfully, they just gave me a warning saying no more beer for you and told me I need to calm down. Was alright but definitely dampened the night.
As a young man getting a shit faced was a right of passage. As a middle aged man drunk is not good. NEVER!. I will be visiting Pattaya with my nephew as soon as the town reopens. See ya soon 🙂
First trip to Pattaya I was sittin with a cockney guy in a bar soi 7. He was lamenting how he met a Thai girl in England, Married her and came to Thailand to start a landscaping business with her. Then he realised how easy it was to get girls here and wishes he wasnt married. Anyway a large Scot came up to us and said you look like a pair of Poofters with the oo from room. The Brit said dont worry about him Scots can be like that when they're drunk so i calmed down. Later we was barhopping walking down soi 7 and saw the big oath lying stone cold on the road blood dripping down his shirt. Obviously someone was not so happy with his opinions ! 🤣
Great advice Buzz, you cannot beat experience, I have been there a lot and if ever I take someone new over there I always try to give them the same advice and to do a bit of homework.
The problems is a lot of people who come to live here don't have a job they have a lot of free time and nothing to do so they get boring for not doing nothing and start visit the bar more often and start drinking to much You need to find a hobby like fishing or what ever make you feel good you don't need to go only to the bar to have fun there are alot of other places to have a good time Back home you normally don't go out every night and drink build your self a day time routine
Never a truer word spoken or greater advice Trev. Met many aggressive and drunk tourists in Thailand and I always just walk away and leave the bar. Only ever fight back if it is a survival situation also and avoid drunken arguments. Met a nice UK guy and his wife once in phuket and he was saying he would never take crap from anyone. I told him some stories about how it will Only turn out bad no matter how in the right he was. He got the message and changed his attitude... especially for Thailand
I do not think Trevor can make it any more clearer in his posts about the pitfalls of Thailand & dangers to avoid , as well as showing us how lovely & beautiful the place can be. Clear sensible down to earth advice that you would be a fool to ignore when visiting there. I think after watching " Banged up in Bangkok " most UK men understand what happens when you step out of line over there. I have never been to Thailand ( yet ) but common sense dictates if the is a problem out there you back off, speak to the volunteer Tourist Police, or wipe your mouth and put it down to experience. Or simply make your way to the new " Buzzin Bar " and drown your sorrows in what I am sure will be a fantastic atmosphere a safe environment.
Good vid trev. I had gone over the top there too many times but always managed to respect locals and know when to eat humble pie to defuse any situation. There had been a couple of near misses in the past whereas I could have easily got a kick in though. Either the sheer size of me or my generosity throughout the night must have saved me lol
Excellent advice, presented in your customary highly professional manner. Having spent about 18 months in Thailand in the past 10 years, I'd have to say that the only people I have seen drunk and behaving aggressively in and around the clubs and bars, have been Europeans.
Well done mate good advice I don’t drink no more but I wish I had someone to tell me 20 years ago things to look out for great video keep them coming specially the walk around mate.🙏
I drink10 to 12 beers a day, mainly Singha light, I am in Pattaya to have fun and socialize. sounds alot but that is spread over the whole day. I love my beer , but I am there to enjoy myself, not to get drunk. As soon as I struggle to walk between bars, I know its time for bed. But I do get shitty, when the bar does not sell it
Hi, Thanks for all the info supplied on the channel, am looking to come out in a year or two, [ That's come out to Pattaya, not come out in the other sense ;];];]. Always look forward to the videos, great way to get informed about Thailand before I come over, I'll check out the discord too. With regards to the video, people need to be respectful that they are in another country and conduct themselves accordingly, doesn't mean you can't have fun, just means that you need to respect the environment and the people and customs of that country. Best regards Steve
If you dress and groom yourself decently and have a good attitude I don't think it matters if you're drinking draft beer. Never has in my experience. And as Buzz says, the guest relations staff definitely prefer customers who don't drink!
As far as I've seen the bars do everything correct. There's nothing much to be gained by over pouring ( making you wasted), or under (the booze is cheap)
Thank you for sharing. Good to know that those of us who are not big drinkers are welcome in the bars and won't be ridiculed for club sodas, ginger ale, etc. I'd have no issue with lady drinks.... That's part of the game. I have to ask - I know it sounds silly - has someone ever accidentally smacked their head on the bell - ringing it - in the course of a fight?
Ah great, we can play the BuzzPatt-drinking game again: Etcetera, etcetera = 1 shot You will be in a world of trouble, my friend = 2 shots Little pocket rockets = 3 shots It is what it is = 4 shots
Great topic and advice Trevor but as you know, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. Hopefully, you might have changed some minds about drinking but at minimum you made some guys think. Personally, I don't drink and now in my later life I travel alone, which is another thing I'm aware....if you're by yourself, all drunk walking back to your hotel, its the law of the jungle....you're more of a target to get robbed, etc than if you're walking home sober.
Good advice. It's a foreign country their culture, nuances laws and behaviour are far different from what we westerners are used to. Have fun but be cautious
I remember waiting in a hospital in Pattaya for an appointment . Nurses check blood pressure of all patients when waiting . All five Falangs waiting before me were told by the nurse "sir you should speak to the doctor about your very high blood pressure" Possibly result of drinking and the "healthy Pattaya lifestyle."
I wonder how many English-speaking people know that 'alcohol' is an Arabic word (كحول)? (It is pronounced 'Al-kuhul'.) Lots of words beginning with 'al' stem from Arabic (e.g., 'algebra', etc.). Anyway, alcohol is a mind-altering substance; legal in much of the world (though illegal in some parts) and socially acceptable in much of the world, but it is still ultimately a mind-altering substance. If it was a new invention I doubt if it would or could be legal in the West. I sat down with a young Brit once (who wanted the life I have in Thailand) and worked out how much he was squandering on bad habits such as alcohol. We calculated he was spending upwards of £300 a month in the UK on drink! That is £3,600 a year, or £36,000 in a decade! He was also forking out £7 a day (!!!!!!) on cancer-sticks! That is around £200 a month, or £2,400 a year, or £24,000 a decade! So he was spending (i.e., wasting) £60,000 a decade on giving himself a beer belly and lung cancer. He wanted to buy a home and start a small business in Pattaya and wanted to know how to do it within 10 years. My answer was to give up smoking and cut out - or at least cut back on - drinking. It is funny, I see online that people are whinging and whining about a possible THB300 tourist tax for Thailand (a poxy US$9 or £6.50, i.e., a pint in London) but think nothing of blowing THB2,000 or THB3,000 on ringing the bell in a beer bar!
Hmm, never understood why none of this advice was kinda obvious to begin with but …Look I’ve sat on the beach where the guy brings you beers all day and then proceed to bar crawl at night. Never sustainable and plain dumb. Nowadays, there’s a whole range of good zero beers which you can consume and still have the ‘real’ stuff later. I’ve also had hostesses quite happy to swap their regular lady drinks with a beer for exactly what I paid for mine. Sure, they skull down the beer before I get even half way, but they accommodated me. And sure, I’ve rung the bell too, but kept that to the latter part of the night when I knew how much I’d spent already and not that drunk and almost ready to go home. Cheers for the video 👏🏽👏🏽
My idea of a good time with beer, in a town about 45 minutes from Pattaya a nice laundry lady let's me sit in front of her shop and consume, it is next to a wholesale bottle shop and I watch people on their way to work, pretty inexpensive.
I learnt a lesson in Soi Bangla, Phuket about 15 years ago. I gave the lady 1,000 baht for a 90 baht drink and she gave me 10 baht change, yes 10 baht! I asked where was the other 900 baht and she said I only gave her 100. The mamasan got involved and what a dragon she was. Anyway I was never going to win that argument but ever since that time I make it clear to them when I hand over a thousand baht bill!
i recall when i was abroad in the past with plenty of cash i would avoid handing over large bills by insisting on smaller bills when changing my money then organizing my wallet ( in the day time at the hotel ) in order of bill size and separate out the money to be spent that day.
Moral of the story, the thai men may be small but they are fast and many are pretty good at muay thai, a very effective martial art. In other words, you will almost certainly get your ass kicked no matter how big you are.
Very good tips here. Pattaya and Thailand in general is an incredible place. But know your limits on booze, stay humble, avoid confrontation and even more so with Thai's....you'll always come off bad one way or another if you don't. Keep it simple and you'll have a great time.
you are amazed by thai ways and your thai lady will keep you on the right path so most guys will want be the gentleman for their tee rak but you will always get a few bad ones. pattaya is for fun and most nights you're meeting with other people that are here for the same thing 🙏
I'm the same and you're right, it usually is more fun because for me my inhibitions and anxiety lower but in the long run its just not worth it...but yea its more fun if there weren't all the bad things that come along with it.
Hi Trev. It’s not about teaching us to suck eggs, but informing those who have not experienced Thailand. I rarely get leathered in the uk let alone In Thailand. I’ve always been able to regulate my drinking. I may be on the vodka redbull all night or I may decide to just stick to the sprite. I love to bar hop so I may just alternate between the vodka and the sprite from one bar to the next.
Also. Those I’m over with if they never been before I tend give them the speech your giving. In the future I’m just gonna show them this vid. Cheers Trev 🤣😉👍🏻🙏🏻
Absolutely, after 27 trips to patts, I don't drink and the girls love it. But of course you need to buy their drinks. They've got a quota to meet after all. Lol
I have be coming to Pattaya for around 30 years and Trevor's advice is spot om heed and stay out of trouble :)

I have not done/seen this myself but I've heard it more than once that people do try to help, the person they help is seriously injured or dies, and suddenly the helper is blamed for the outcome. Hospital bills and/or compensation for the deceased. Maybe you could do a talk/video about this Trev.
Very good advice thank you
Friend of mine was stabbed to death while intervening/protecting girl being abused by aggressive male.
thanks mate
100% agree with every word!
Man’s got to know his limitations!
indeed
Cheers
Very good shout mate
Thanks for sharing mate, yeah always better to diffuse a situation than ignite it
It’s kind of an irony that everything in Pattaya revolves around drinking and girls yet the local people also expect reserved passive behaviour.
I AGREE
thanks for sharing mate, much appreciated
Hi Trevor
thanks for the fatherly advice 20 years ago I experienced an English gentleman on Walkingstreet who was beaten up like that by 20 Thai men he made problems in a bar next to P20 or maybe the bar was part of it. bar were not happy and I still wonder if that person survived. Indeed it is not worth making trouble in Pattaya. if you know yourself that you are like that when you've been drinking just don't come to thailand.
Happened to a mate of mine as well sadly
100%.
Another good vidio.
Been there and got the tee shirt.
Never caused any problems just walk away.
Seen it all over Thailand.
Walking away is always the best option
Great advice mate.
I stopped drinking 2 years ago,my liver was shot,.
It was either that or I would meet the grim reaper,
I still have a great time in bars over there,I drink manow manow,,,Schweppes lemon.
Well done for taking the action to keep you here respect
Shed load of sugar mind....nice though!
10:52 In Thai, the letter 'L' at the end of a word gets pronounced as an 'N'. That's why the 'BILL' is called a 'BIN' - it's not because the small wooden pot looks like a little bin.
Bill is not a word used by Thai people, they say gep-ngan meaning the bill please. Both Lor Ling and Lor ju La which is "L" both end as "L"
(Excuse me I'm sorry)
well said mate and spot on
Sorry It means " I dont want it but thank you any way., The salespeople on bikes trying to sell you sunglasses and anything else will leave you alone with that phrase xx
Alcohol is a demon that slowly creeps in….

Love the video layovers during the sit and talks. Great topic Trev. Very helpful to future visitors. I streamed you up on the 80 inch this time, let me tell you.....that was a lot of TK buddy! 🤣
haha bet I made ya eyes water looking at my beautiful face lol
Thanks Trev.. glad that when I was in Thailand, I always made it a point not to never get pissed. Good tips in the vid! 😃
Thank you mate
Really good advice Trevor 👌
thanks
You were spot on in this video, very well done.
thank you
Always fun counting all the different ways Trevor says "drunk" in his videos. 😂
lol
I so appreciate your Pattaya advice, always! From the girls to my physical safety, it all rocks like Hell's Bells! 🔔🛎️
Love AC/DC....... haha
Fair play mate at least you got it sorted
Hi Trev another great chat. One of my best mates doesn’t drink and he has a great time in patts. I enjoy a drink but I very rarely get hammered. Girls really get pissed off if they’re stuck with a complete drunk.
Nice one mate and thank you very much for sharing
there are som videos about foreigners doing crazy stuff after take meth (yaba), definitely you must to avoid that, and be aware of your drinks, maybe someone can put something inside
thanks for sharing mate
The problem is ‘too much’ you can do pretty much everything in moderation. There are many functioning, working Heroin addicts. Too much Sugar, Salt or MSG is bad. Its the word ‘too’ is the problem without moderation. Of course too much alcohol is bad and has bad consequences
Fair shout
Yeah almost got in trouble at one of the clubs. Was plastered and started to dance with one of the waitresses. The club staff was not amused. Thankfully, they just gave me a warning saying no more beer for you and told me I need to calm down. Was alright but definitely dampened the night.
Yeah can happen mate not to worry
@@Buzzinpattaya lucky to get out unscathed. A buddy of mine got beat up on Soi 6 a few days ago
As a young man getting a shit faced was a right of passage. As a middle aged man drunk is not good. NEVER!. I will be visiting Pattaya with my nephew as soon as the town reopens. See ya soon 🙂
Nice one look forward to meeting you
First trip to Pattaya I was sittin with a cockney guy in a bar soi 7.
seems he got what he deserved
I’ve seen a few Scott’s here in Australia act like that and end up betting bashed by the end of the night.
alcohol tastes foul, makes you dizzy, and then gives you a headache. what is the attraction?
I like it when the girls get drunk it makes me look attractive lol
@@Buzzinpattaya VERY TRUE
Any idea when the video was taken and the name location of the bar/club in the overlay video. Worth a visit?
Can you give me a time stamp as there are so many overlays
12:10 thanks
Great advice Buzz, you cannot beat experience, I have been there a lot and if ever I take someone new over there I always try to give them the same advice and to do a bit of homework.
nice one mate
You should start a one day course for newbies to attend:)
I have been asked but our weekly meet ups should cover this
The problems is a lot of people who come to live here don't have a job they have a lot of free time and nothing to do so they get boring for not doing nothing and start visit the bar more often and start drinking to much
You need to find a hobby like fishing or what ever make you feel good you don't need to go only to the bar to have fun there are alot of other places to have a good time
Back home you normally don't go out every night and drink build your self a day time routine
well said and yes they need to keep active
I don’t drink and I’ve always had great times in Pattaya it’s funny watching everyone else been stupid
hahaha some of the funniest moments
Very good advise. It all sounds like common sense to me. But there is an old saying. "Common sense is not very COMMON !"
Indeed
trevor-a rock of sense as always
Thank you
Never a truer word spoken or greater advice Trev.
Cheers mate much appreciated
I do not think Trevor can make it any more clearer in his posts about the pitfalls of Thailand & dangers to avoid , as well as showing us how lovely & beautiful the place can be. Clear sensible down to earth advice that you would be a fool to ignore when visiting there. I think after watching " Banged up in Bangkok " most UK men understand what happens when you step out of line over there. I have never been to Thailand ( yet ) but common sense dictates if the is a problem out there you back off, speak to the volunteer Tourist Police, or wipe your mouth and put it down to experience. Or simply make your way to the new " Buzzin Bar " and drown your sorrows in what I am sure will be a fantastic atmosphere a safe environment.
thanks for sharing mate, much appreciated
Good vid trev. I had gone over the top there too many times but always managed to respect locals and know when to eat humble pie to defuse any situation. There had been a couple of near misses in the past whereas I could have easily got a kick in though. Either the sheer size of me or my generosity throughout the night must have saved me lol
thanks for sharing mate
Its not surprising which types of your videos are popular. Thank you Sir
Thank you
Excellent advice, presented in your customary highly professional manner. Having spent about 18 months in Thailand in the past 10 years, I'd have to say that the only people I have seen drunk and behaving aggressively in and around the clubs and bars, have been Europeans.
Thanks mate and yes spot on
Well done mate good advice I don’t drink no more but I wish I had someone to tell me 20 years ago things to look out for great video keep them coming specially the walk around mate.🙏
thanks mate
I drink10 to 12 beers a day, mainly Singha light, I am in Pattaya to have fun and socialize. sounds alot but that is spread over the whole day. I love my beer , but I am there to enjoy myself, not to get drunk. As soon as I struggle to walk between bars, I know its time for bed.
But I do get shitty, when the bar does not sell it
fair play mate, you know your limits and enjoy yaself
Great advice on the drinks mate..!! And I watched the boat video, looked so fun and amazing.. Well done Buzzin team and Trev 🍻🔥
cheers, hope you can join us when you get out here
Great advice and totally agree! I've stopped checking the bin when drunk as it just confuses me. Generally drink at the same bars !!
Fair one mate
As he said, the point of checking is not to check but to be seen to be checking.
Lol! this goes for anywhere else in the world too. Good advice Trev. 👍
Thanks mate
Hi, Thanks for all the info supplied on the channel, am looking to come out in a year or two, [ That's come out to Pattaya, not come out in the other sense ;];];]. Always look forward to the videos, great way to get informed about Thailand before I come over, I'll check out the discord too.
With regards to the video, people need to be respectful that they are in another country and conduct themselves accordingly, doesn't mean you can't have fun, just means that you need to respect the environment and the people and customs of that country.
Best regards Steve
Thank you so much for sharing
Do they have like local coffee shops, not necessarily starbucks, but just coffee shops? I am not big drinker
Yes loads of them
Thank you. Be there for Valentines Day, boat trip on Valentines would proper make people back home jealous.
haha
Bryan said buying draughts makes you look cheap, does that not happen with non-alcoholic drinks?
Each to their own mate at the end of the day is what's in your wallet that really matters
@@Buzzinpattaya Cheers mate.
If you dress and groom yourself decently and have a good attitude I don't think it matters if you're drinking draft beer. Never has in my experience. And as Buzz says, the guest relations staff definitely prefer customers who don't drink!
Yes very good Trev . you sound like someone with some real experience in this area . I'm not fond of getting sloshed . 😀
Seen and done it mate, not pretty
I drink but 4 beers is enough for me and also I dont get drunk because I like my wits about me if something kicks off
absolutely mate
Eric Burdon taught me: "When I think about the good times that I wasted having good times..." Tru dat
Thank you
Great advice mashallah
Thank you
Trev is there a problem with the girls spiking ur drinks or the drinks being under poured or over poured?
Hmm not so much in the bars etc but Freelancers it has been known back in your hotel etc
@@Buzzinpattaya thx good to know.
As far as I've seen the bars do everything correct. There's nothing much to be gained by over pouring ( making you wasted), or under (the booze is cheap)
Bars, free Lancers, and even local restaurants will spike ur drinks. Basically when money is involved they will do it. Buyer beware.
@@MrDynasport How does a local restaurant win by spking your drink? And what will they spike it with?
Thank you for sharing. Good to know that those of us who are not big drinkers are welcome in the bars and won't be ridiculed for club sodas, ginger ale, etc. I'd have no issue with lady drinks.... That's part of the game. I have to ask - I know it sounds silly - has someone ever accidentally smacked their head on the bell - ringing it - in the course of a fight?
no probs, not sure on the bell i am not that tall lol
Ah great, we can play the BuzzPatt-drinking game again:
Etcetera, etcetera = 1 shot
You will be in a world of trouble, my friend = 2 shots
Little pocket rockets = 3 shots
It is what it is = 4 shots
damn I am in trouble etc etc lol
Very good information. Off topic.....Are there bars with darts. such as dartboards and darts in Thailand.
We have a few here like I-rovers and korandos
No matter what you do in Pattaya, there is always someone who has done something worse :)
lol, true
Great topic and advice Trevor but as you know, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink.
Hopefully, you might have changed some minds about drinking but at minimum you made some guys think. Personally, I don't drink and now in my later life I travel alone, which is another thing I'm aware....if you're by yourself, all drunk walking back to your hotel, its the law of the jungle....you're more of a target to get robbed, etc than if you're walking home sober.
thanks for sharing mate and well said
Good advice. It's a foreign country their culture, nuances laws and behaviour are far different from what we westerners are used to. Have fun but be cautious
Cheers mate spot on
I remember waiting in a hospital in Pattaya for an appointment . Nurses check blood pressure of all patients when waiting .
All five Falangs waiting before me were told by the nurse "sir you should speak to the doctor about your very high blood pressure"
Possibly result of drinking and the "healthy Pattaya lifestyle."

How’s u Trevor on a different subject do u think test and go be reinstated any time soon cheers
I hope so mate
Great video I have a question. My electronic ID has expired how do I get a new one?
Will sort mate
Thanks for sharing
Mate it maybe obvious but many get carried away
My idea of a good time with beer, in a town about 45 minutes from Pattaya a nice laundry lady let's me sit in front of her shop and consume, it is next to a wholesale bottle shop and I watch people on their way to work, pretty inexpensive.
nice one mate fair play
You can do that in Wolverhampton!

Nice one mate
I learnt a lesson in Soi Bangla, Phuket about 15 years ago. I gave the lady 1,000 baht for a 90 baht drink and she gave me 10 baht change, yes 10 baht! I asked where was the other 900 baht and she said I only gave her 100. The mamasan got involved and what a dragon she was. Anyway I was never going to win that argument but ever since that time I make it clear to them when I hand over a thousand baht bill!
Sorry to read about that situation that's disgraceful
i recall when i was abroad in the past with plenty of cash i would avoid handing over large bills by insisting on
smaller bills when changing my money then organizing my wallet ( in the day time at the hotel ) in order of bill size and
separate out the money to be spent that day.

What percentage of bars sell non alcoholic drinks?
At a guess I would say probably at least 50%
All of them sell none alcoholic drinks .... coke, tonic, orange, soda .... look in their glass fronted fridges ... you'll see lots .....
It's Jan 15-16 are bars allowed to temp open or did they push that back ?
no solid announcement as yet
Another brilliant video :)
Glad you enjoyed it
The question should be “what can go right?”

Very good tips here. Pattaya and Thailand in general is an incredible place. But know your limits on booze, stay humble, avoid confrontation and even more so with Thai's....you'll always come off bad one way or another if you don't. Keep it simple and you'll have a great time.
Absolutely!
you are amazed by thai ways and your thai lady will keep you on the right path so most guys will want be the gentleman for their tee rak but you will always get a few bad ones. pattaya is for fun and most nights you're meeting with other people that are here for the same thing 🙏

I'm the same and you're right, it usually is more fun because for me my inhibitions and anxiety lower but in the long run its just not worth it...but yea its more fun if there weren't all the bad things that come along with it.
drinking is fine as long as you are in control
WOW thanks for sharing
Find it annoying when the bar staff come over and pick up your bottle and inspect how much you have left to drink too!

Absolutely, after 27 trips to patts, I don't drink and the girls love it. But of course you need to buy their drinks. They've got a quota to meet after all. Lol
Indeed they have
@Duncan Donut Donut ffs, buy them a drink. I don't buy "alcohol" for me because I don't drink. You took it out of context
