Do they make this agitator for other spreaders?
What is the cotter pin for? The instructions said to put through the hole in the shaft but mine doesn't seem to have a hole. Is it for other models?
Does it help get the last bit of product out of the hopper?
I know the video is a little older. But I have to say, they are high as crap charging what they charge for this agitator. I think they want almost $80 for just the little piece of stainless steel punched out of plate and the fingers bent. I dont use my lesco often but wouldnt mind upgrading just for the heck of it. But not at $80.

@@peterfreeman3317 I am looking at site one’s website right now and it is $74.81. I understand if you are commercial you can create an account and get better pricing. But I am a homeowner. Unless someone has other advice.
My brother in law has an account, however if you have a $500-600 spreader what’s another $70-80? Pretty much cry once purchase.
@@peterfreeman3317 because I tend to look at what something is worth before buying. Sometimes it doesn’t matter and I spend the money. Sometimes out of principal I refuse to spend even though I have the cash if the seller/maker is being ultra greedy.
This literally is a little piece of stainless punched out of a flat plate and bent. I found the forum where the inventor was talking about it and got it patented. For residential use in my own lawn, the factory agitator works well enough. If this redesigned version was cheaper I could justify. If I was using it frequently or making money off of it in a business that would be an easy decision even at $80. Probably like your brother in law does. But I don’t make money with it so I will probably just make due with the stock part.

Thanks for the video. You put 150lbs of material in your 80lb Lesco? I'm about to purchase this spreader and that caught my attention.
Mr E, I have bought recently this spreader, and it's very hard to push the spreader when I load 50# material. I am 5 ft 6" tall and the slope is between 10 - 30 degree. Is this very common? I have to put so much effort while using this spreader.
If you put 50 lbs in any spreader with slopes that steep, it's not going to be easy to push. Whenever doing steep slopes, don't put so much in the spreader each time you fill up. That is what I've always done over the years and it's easier to push and less chance of rolling the spreader over.
Mr E Thanks. I also found I didn't install washer between wheel and drive axle which was rubbing plastic on plastic.
