I've hiked up Caps Ridge a couple of times. That first outlook has glacial potholes, which you can see in some of your shots. The second time I hiked up, the wind above tree line was so intense, we thought we were going to be blown off the mountain! Even though it was a clear day, we turned back. Thank you for posting all these hikes!
Oh that’s awesome! Thanks for the insight on the geological term!! I love learning about what I’m looking at! I saw those but wasn’t sure so I didn’t say anything. 😍
I've gone down Caps Ridge at the end of a long day in April. Love the big boulders on it. Looking forward to tackling it again one day - Ezri needs it for her 48 so that'll likely be how we tackle it. The Link seems like a cool trail - definitely the road less travelled.
I hope to do the Caps Ridge soon so all of the detail that you provide is very helpful. Even though it's steep it looks like there are lots of hand and foot holds on the caps to help with the ascent and descent. Slabs, on the other hand, freak me out a bit. I have also seen negative comments about the Link so I'll pass on that even though you seemed up to the challenge. You certainly picked a nice weather day for this hike, with hardly any wind.
Glad this helped you out! It was a nice trail up to Jefferson! Thanks for watching. 💗 Totally understandable that you aren’t feeling the link. Biggest thing about it was that it was really long for what you had to deal with every step.
Watching your video now!! Happy trails Amanda! Michael from NH and now living in VA. I know the Whites like the back of my hand and the same For Maine and VT.
"Thank You", once again, Amanda, for sharing Your Adventures, Your Commentary, and The Great Views! You do Such a Good Job of describing details, such as; The Route, Trail Conditions, Weather, etc. ... Another terrifying trail..wooooo WoOoOoO now...and i mean now is the perfect time to hit the trails..weather is cooling off a tad and the leaves 🍃 will be a turning colors soon. What pack you got there amanda.?
Hi Amanda. Another great video!!! I think you need to find a way to attach your camera to maybe a pack trap or something. Your climbing with the camera in one hand is dangerous. Just don't want you to get hurt or worse. Just care for your safety even though I don't know you. Just saying! Amanda nice footage and editing. Stay safe and happy . 😊❤ G
Always enjoy your videos Amanda! Have you ever descended Caps Ridge trail? Just wondering cuz I’m not sure about doing the Castle trail to the link. I believe there are herd paths around the steep parts on Caps Ridge that makes the descent safer. Yes?
I haven’t descended Caps Ridge. Though Caps Ridge is a much easier route than Castle Trail… I do better on the descent than the ascent so I didn’t mind. I also really wanted to see what all the fuss was about for the Link lol. There were parents with younger children descending Caps, it really wasn’t that bad at all. As far as herd paths, for the most part you go around the rocky outcroppings, there are just a few spots that require scrambling but with easy hand and foot holds - no smooth slab or anything. I think you would be fine to descend if you don’t have a problem ascending it. 👍🏻💗 Plus it’s a nice and short route, and elevation gain isn’t crazy. 😄 Hope that helps..? I didn’t do much exploring and was pretty focused when I was going up so I didn’t notice a whole lot outside of the main route.
@@AmandaDouin Thanks Amanda. Really appreciate your thoughts on this. You do such a great job with your videos by the way. Always a pleasure to watch them. Take care and be safe out there!👍🏻🙂
With you again Amanda. I can't believe how well you navigate through all that treasures terrain. You are so awesome. Again such beautiful coverage of your amazing photography. Stay safe and I'll watch for your next adventure ❤
Totally wonderful
Great video! A solid 50 years since I hiked Caps Ridge! Beautiful and challenging.
😄
Perfect day, I hope I have that weather next week 😄
Yess! Hope you do too!
Sold, did that rout a couple years back, great to see it again.
😄
Thanks for sharing Ananda
Thanks for watching!

You are so right! Can’t wait for the color.
This pack is The North Face Women’s Terra 40.
@AmandaDouin do you have stock in north face? Most everything you got is the north face.
@@StopcryinguwussI grew to love their stuff. I was part of the management team a couple years ago at one of their locations.
Great Job on another Terrifying 25 Hike!
Thanks Brian! Gotta catch up on your adventures - you keep crushing them!
Great view! But man, not a well worn trail that's for sure 😂
😄😂 The Link? lol It was fun!! There was a bushy part on the Caps trail too. Short and sweet little hike tho!
