Hi Adam. Thanks for the great (as usual) video on this interesting hike. I'm always impressed about your filming yourwelf coming up a steep section, especially since you have to go back and get the camera. Look forward to future videos, and hoping the Lord blesses you always with safety.
6:22 It's about time you came back, we missed you! Awesome video from the best hiker UA-camr out there. Watched it on the TV this morning, amazing camerawork.
🫣 Glad to see you back! I love hiking our mountains but do harbor a healthy level of fear of heights. I’m working on it. For now, I’ll continue the T25 vicariously through you 😅
Amazing views and video! I will not have this one on my hiking list due to that rock scramble. I loved the long distant shots. Keep up the good work as I am hiking these virtually through your videos😊
This is great! I always enjoy your videos because they're so well done. They also convince me that I need to find routes not part of the T25 list when I hike any of the NH48, haha.
Very cool and educational video. Thanks Adam. I hiked the presidential range about 5 years ago while hiking the AT. The wind gusts were over 50 and it was raining on and off. Hence I opted to skip Mt Jefferson and Mt. Clay. I'm hoping to hike the range again late Sept and tag both of them along the way.
Love that first outlook. Just got to watch out for the aggressive Gray Jays that hang around there. At that point you just don’t know how many false summits you’re about to encounter.😓 Big rock scramble - How many times did you climb to get all those shots? Excellent perspective (especially the far away shot where you really get a sense how long that goes). Thanks for sharing!
Glad you liked it! It was a fun and classic trail to finally film. One of the few on this list I had hiked before and its own popularity was the only thing holding me back until now haha.
Wow! Thank you Adam, great video! I watched because I am thinking of hiking this trail but now not so sure. In your opinion on a scale of 1 - 10, how scary was that rock face section that you had the footage from afar? It looks like you are rock climbing a cliff!
Thanks! I’m thinking about doing this hike in a few weeks, want to get a sense of it. How do the scrambles compare to Tuckerman Ravine or Lion Head on Mount Washington? I think those are the most challenging I’ve done in the Whites
Great video! Do you edit out all the other people hiking? When I took this trail a couple of years ago there were tons of people out hiking with me. Looks like you have to entire mountain to yourself…..
@@zerolimitsoffroad6346 For a time I contemplated the option of hiking over to the Jewel Trail to Boundary Line Trail to get back to my car instead of returning on Caps Ridge, but eventually felt that I could manage the route back down vs the longer distance to hike.
I really enjoy your videos and reels! I was hoping to get to the Whites this summer, but another foot surgery put an end to that idea. How did you set up that shot at 13:18???
I'm sorry about your surgery. Hope the healing has been going well and that you have still managed to enjoy some nature around yourself locally during your recovery! O the rock out cropping happened to be right near the slab and I watched a bunch of other people climb it while i waited for it to clear out. So I knew where I needed to point the camera before I started.
@@AdamHoyt Many thanks for your well wishes. I wrecked my ankle on an AT LASH summer '21 and had my 5th surgery jut yesterday! It really sucks, but videos like yours give me inspiration to get back out there (and what to avoid! LOL)
There was some serious work with those shots of you working your way up a scramble. Because you had to go back for the camera. And do it again. I think you do everything solo(?). But the real work had to be the descent. Did you make a loop with a different descent?
Yes I think it took me over an hour to film just that part. It was the main focus of the video and I knew I wanted it to pop! Yes filmed it solo and hiked the slab like 6-7 times haha. No I hiked out and back this same trail!
To the guy who said " screw that guy" I have been hiking these White Mountains since high school, I am currently 65 and still going, have done all the NH and Maine 4000 footers, some multiple times, you want to do a Hike? Try the Castles trail up Jefferson and come down the Israel Ravine back to Bowman parking lot, Much more scrambling on this one
The guy said "screw that guy" to you because your tone was obnoxious. The hike is on a list called the "Terrifying 25". That is not Adam's name for it,that's what it's called, Google it. This is amazing camerawork by an all-around nice guy. So congratulations on your achievements, but you sound like one of those people that have to always one-up someone and say you did it better. Adam Hoyt does fantastic hiking videos.

Great video Adam! I actually saw you when I was doing this hike, and it’s like finally seeing Bigfoot in the woods.
Wow that's so funny. Lots of people hiking this trail that day. Glad you enjoyed it and enjoyed seeing the video afterwards!
Love the distant shot of the scramble. Great video!
Thank you! I was so happy when I realized I could get that shot!
I think being in the scramble 4:35 is just terrifying because my energy would wane...

Glad you still remembered me! I bet it looked as good as it did when I was there on the big screen! More to come!
Wow great to see you back!!
Glad to be Back. The next video will be much sooner! haha
Thanks Adam. Always makes a good Monday morning to watch your weekend adventures in our Granite State wonderland.
My Pleasure it's great to bring you my adventures again!
What a brilliant ambience my friend! Shots and editing are flawless! Love it 🥾🥾

hahaha O this is the easiest route to Jefferson if you hike it by itself so you'll have to do some of them! Just the one slab and you'll be good!
55 yrs ago it wasnt scary !! Is now ! One of the great hikes.
LFOD !
Such a fun trail! Happy Hiking :)
It really is!

Those conditions sound so rough. I'm glad I wasn't dealing with that. You definitely have to come back and try this trail to Jefferson someday!
Yay! You're back!!
Glad to be back and happy you didn't forget me!

Its such a nice reward to prep you for the struggles ahead lol. I think its was like 6-7 times total to get all the shots lol.
Yessss more UA-cam content!!
Glad you didn't forget me!
Great video man, keep up the good work.
Appreciate it!
Great video...this is a trail I want to tackle soon. Thanks for the new content!!
How awful was the rock wall to go back down?
Glad you liked it! It was a fun and classic trail to finally film. One of the few on this list I had hiked before and its own popularity was the only thing holding me back until now haha.
O it was the same amount of awful as it was the other 6-7 times I did it when I filmed it. I was almost an expert at it by then!
Great video
Thanks! 😊

Glad to hear it I hope you enjoy it!

I found that rock face not so bad going up, but the hiking down part for me was where I was uncomfortably anxious.
I was going to ask how sketchy it was coming down.😅
@@zerolimitsoffroad6346 For a time I contemplated the option of hiking over to the Jewel Trail to Boundary Line Trail to get back to my car instead of returning on Caps Ridge, but eventually felt that I could manage the route back down vs the longer distance to hike.
@@zerolimitsoffroad6346 The footing as I can remember was OK. To me it was the steepness, or rather cliff-ness and height of spots.
It's always worse going down. My butt had a nice slide mark by the end haha
I found the ledges at White face a lot more terrifying than this trail. This trail just exhausted me!
This is awesome! What a hike!!!! How’d your knee hold up?
Knee felt great!
@@AdamHoyt that is awesome! I’m so glad you are healing up.
i just did this trail in june, its gorgeous

The camera view at 7:39! How many times did you do that slab climb to get all your camera views?
It was such a cool shot to nab. i think in total like 6-7 times just on that one slab to get all the shots!
What time did you hike? It’s amazing to see a nice day like that without a ton of people all over the summit.
It was a Friday and I just waited as long as I needed to for the people to go!
Can you please rank the 48 4000 footers of the New Hampshire?
I will once I finish them. I'm not even half way yet!
@@AdamHoyt Fair enough, I have only hiked Pierce.
No problems down climbing the scrambles?
It’s not too bad I have done this trail before, hardest cap to descend is the second one
This scramble is at 6:58
I have a nice big cushiony bum that sure helped a lot with this. Just took my time and it was all right.

Now imagine being 5'3" and hiking this horror. 😂😂😂😂😂
Great now I am going to have nightmares!
@@AdamHoyt How you think I feel? And when I go out? As a nature photographer? My pack weighs about 35-40 pds or more.

You have no idea!
looking at the introductory pic, it appears that you were in dire need of a handhold for support. I hope you came out of it okay.
oo Yes I played that up for the picture but it was a very very tricky scramble. especially having to do it so many times!
