  • Day 3 was yet another 12-mile hike, it was a hot morning as I headed through the streets of Newquay over to Pentire. Crossing the Gannel was effortless and I was soon following through woodland along the side of the estuary. Just before arriving at Crantock Beach, I found a convenient beach store and cafe where a welcome cold drink was had.
The next few miles to Holywell were relatively easy going and I was soon at the St Pirrans Inn. An extended break out of the sun with some very cold beer motivated me to carry on.
Passing the eerie Penhale Camp and then the big reward of the view of Perran Beach.
Approximately a mile of sand walking soon found me heading up a flight of steps back to the cliff tops and then it was up and over into Perranporth. I think I drank 3 pints of pop in the local Spoons when I arrived...
I stayed at the Anchor Barrow Campsite that night, a very large open field campsite with a lovely craft bar and a covered area to sit. The toilets and showers were spotless and the shower was excellent.
Filmed on a GoPro 9 Black & DJI Mini 3.

    Music from Epidemic Sounds.
