In Syndicate you find out that Reginald Burch (the guy talking to Haytham at the beginning) is the killer of Edward Kenway, father of Haytham and grandfather of Connor. Haytham (most probably during the story of AC3 or maybe before) kills Reginald after finding out who’s the killer of his father.

I know this is a late comment. But yes I feel we should’ve played as Haytham if it wasn’t about an Assassin going Rogue. But it would still be nice to see Shay as Haytham’s second apprentice alongside Charles during the events of the Seven Years War and taking down the Colonial Assassins.
You missed some good action scenes you could've blended in with haytham's story. like the start and end of the knife fight on the ship, and a few other scenes, etc.
Edward wouldn't be disapointed in Haytham. Haytham had no choice, initially. But even after the fact of once he became conscious to remain a Templar, he stayed true to himself. Edward would be proud in that of itself. It shows that Haytham has a lot of Zealous in him. A positive quality.

well why would he bury his father anyways? i never read the noval but in terms of story Connor has no reason to bury his father because why would he? the guys never been in his life, he joined the templars an was killing people, and left connors mother to join the Templars instead of being with his own son, he may have his reasons but even I know thats cold. one of the best charactors. but Connor understood everything. I dont know if you did maybe play the game again an pay close attention?
