Karissa Teixeira what shade of color corrector would you recommend for my dark undereye? It doesn't have redness but darker tone of my brown skin if that makes sense at all 🙂
This was one of the most helpful make-up videos I have ever seen! I too suffer from deep creasing (aka "tear troughs") and pink/purple tones under my eyes which actually look extremely similar to yours. I am 21 years old and my undereyes have been this way as long as I can remember (thanks, genetics :P). I never previously had any luck finding others on youtube who have undereyes that look just like mine but I am grateful that I finally did. I am going to be purchasing these products asap and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will be able to achieve the amazing results you did. :) Thanks again for posting this!

Me, too :/. Born with them so nothing to do but use makeup. Those "special under eye creams for dark circles" does absolutely nothing. I even got allergic reactions from them. So, this is a great video :)
+Arendis I me too! and the only think that helpes me hide it is revlon age rewind which has a very good coverage! and I also use a lot of coconut oil so it stays moisture
Oh yes I should def try the coconut oil! So far I have not found a good concealer/concealers to fully cover them without getting lots of wrinkles in the process. :(
I recommend not putting too much at first hand nor making any triangle. just put a little tiny bit and build it! be patient! try the revlon age rewind.. first mosturize your under eye area, then apply it, after set it with powder and it wont move!

This is probably the best video I have seen regarding this problem. I also have deep set hereditary dark under eye circles. Mine are mainly bluish/purplish though. Can't wait to try this.
Just bought the NYX green I can't wait until the morning to try it out I know I left a long thankful comment before but again thank you for showing the green being used I've always used yellow and the NYX pot peach corrector & still no help I know with the redish blue and almost brownish color will be gone with your techniques Again thank you so much I've been too embarrassed to get out since my under eyes have been getting worse U have saved me Thank you

I am 39 & have been using Benefit Erase Paste over my foundation & under my concealer- either shape tape or tarte maracuja oil creaseless concealer. Also use LM powder. New sub. Wonderful job.

This was incredibly encouraging and helpful. I'm 17 and my dark circles have made me so self-conscious the past few years. I, too, have deep, dark red/purple circles and have been trying to find a way to hide them. This video was very informative. I had been wondering if the NYX green concealer would work for the red, and this video confirmed it. I am now going to purchase it and try these steps. Thank you for this video...it really encouraged me to see a UA-camr with real dark circles and know that I am not alone.
+Melissa Kelly I don't have the Becca brightening concealer to put on top of the green concealer so I tried the NYX salmon colored dark circle pot concealer on top and then my normal concealer (Loreal True Match) but the green kind of gave me a funky look under my eyes, but it could be the NYX salmon concealer isn't very pigmented and I wasn't completely satisfied with it. I will play around with it more though and maybe some day splurge on the Becca brightening concealer. I have, however, been using the yellow NYX concealer and I absolutely love it! Still have some darkness by not nearly as much as before. I would definitely recommend the yellow NYX HD concealer...still playing around with the green though :)
The way you explained everything in this video is shamazing, unlike other dark under eye circle videos where they don't even zoom in to show you the result... if your bullies are watching now they will be gobsmacked to see how beautiful you were back then and even beeeyatiful now, gawd the insecurities in people turn them into FUCKING BULLIES they couldn't handle your beauty back then that's why they bullied ya babe, if ya get what am saying, #your beautiful it's true. Oh my god!!! You do this?! This is no joke the exact same thing I do! I only found the Becca corrector like 4 months ago which is when my finally perfected my under eye routine. I honestly thought I was such a weirdo for using all these products for my undereyes. so glad to see that I’m not the only one who is doing this.

Most you tubers recommends peach or orange correctors for under eyes but those are to cancel out blue while I felt my dark circles are actually red but I couldn’t find anyone using green under eyes.... I am so glad I found you... Thank you so much for the tutorial. BTW your eye makeup is gorgeous.
I'm super greatful to find tutorials from women with under eye bags and dark circles. I got them from my mom, had them all my life. I feel it ages me even though I'm only 25. Mine aren't as dark as yours but my under eye bags are much puffier, lower and wider than yours (without makeup) I hate it because I can cover up at least some of the darkness but the puffiness creates shadows, lines, etc. Ugh I just hate it. If I could change any one part of my body with surgery, it would be getting rid of these things.
Great to see full on action of a multi-step coverage. I have aging skin and dark circle issues from heredity and health issues. I think I will grab one of the smaller beauty blenders after watching your video. Great tips! I think the key point I take away from this: there can be more than one discoloration issue happening so no one corrector isn't going to do the work in that situation. Thank you.
+Wendy Misener Yes exactly! that is the main problem when I would look for direction from "experts" at makeup stores were they would sell me and think ONE product would cure it all but from teaching myself and being a makeup artist I have learned all types are different and need different corrections :)
I know this video is old but I just came across it. And want to say thank you I have been struggling with Dark Circles since I was young like yourself. Always struggled with them and made fun of and picked on like you were,even so when I became an adult i would not say picked on like in school but semi close. I now know what to use for my severe dark circles(which are bit worse than yours now that I have gotten older) I will be purchasing the products you use and recommend with one addition since I have redness and purple (love genetics) I just hope none of it settles into my fine lines,I will know very soon. Karissa, your story could be mine exactly. Thank you for the how to for covering dark circles,esp. without creasing. I did what you said and the results have been almost miraculous! I am in my 60's and I finally can have no circles. You need to patent this technique. God Bless You!

I highly recommended this tutorial for anyone who has or knows someone with stubborn dark under eye circles. You are vey genuine and I appreciate all of your in depth research . I think we are on the same wavelength about how to choose and apply the products. I don't like using too many high end products at the same spot. I always blend the crease before I use the powder the same way you do lol needless to say, I like the video!
I've had DC all of my life. AND now that I'm 50, i also have lost the fat volume under my eye...i hope this works for more mature skin. I feel i look old and hollowed out. thank you

I suffer from really bad dark circles too and even though having some kind of dark circles is normal, I haven't met many people with extremely dark ones like mine. It's just so frustrating having people ask you if you're sick of if you haven't slept at all or stuff like that. I think that finding the right way to conceal your dark circles is great and it definitely helps when you're doing your full make up, but sometimes I wish I could look like a normal person without having to wear 3 different kind of concealers :(

Thank you for the tip about creasing ( how you smooth the creases with your finger before setting the area) I also noticed that when I use a base under my eyes, it's much easier to work with the products and they crease less , Great job and cheers from Morocco :)
Awesome video - very informative! Im thinking it's the anti-redness piece that I have been missing! I will definitely try that green product you used. One additional trick I recently learned was to use an eyeshadow primer under the eye to prevent creasing. It helps a lot. I don't care if it takes 4 products or 40 - to eliminate those hereditary dark circles is worth whatever it takes!
Looks amazing! I have the same issues with my under eye area with purple but I have a lot more lines. Could you make this same tutorial using drugstore products? It would be helpful for my budget 😊

Amelia Martinez it is very sad. It happened to me as well, they bullied me for my dark circles which I never noticed before and couldn't change at the time (I was 11). When I think about it I just can't understand why people don't want to accept the way others look :(
I've tried a million different things too! That Becca just seems like it's not peach enough, I'll try it like you do. But I do love the erase paste from benefit, #2, bc #1 is more pink, and doesn't cover as much. I use the tiniest amount, then concealer :) Great video! Thanks!
Now YOU my dear girl have some dark circles. Good job on making them disappear. Yours are close to mine except mine are all blue/purple. No red, and go all the way across from inner tear duct to outer edge of the eye. Two girls at Ulta told me to use yellow to correct. Maybe had to do with my skin tone which is med with warm undertones. The salmon or peach just wasn't do it. I could still see them.
Thank you! Finally a step by step that actually makes sense. I do not suffer from the "born with issue" but I do have the aging thing against me. 51 now and finally actually wearing makeup. Now that I am wearing makeup, the under eye color and fine lines really are showing through. AND I have the whole "blind as a bat thing" going against me, so my glasses magnify anything that is going on under there. I am definitely going to try this. my dark cirles are heredity as well and it seems like everyone in sephora mac and ulta just doesnt understand. I have tried everything it seems but I never thought to use a green corrector. thank you so much for your video. i seriously almost started crying when I saw your before and after because your circles look like mine.

My whole life people thought I had been punched in the eye or had no sleep and when people didn't know my name they referred to me as "the girl who always looks tired". I have been doing things wrong, using the peach corrector then a skin colored concealer over it and the red/purple always still peeks through and all of that work is wasted (even when using a damp BB no amount of concealer covers and the peach does not stay put). Now I'm going to try what you're doing with the green fluid first, then the peach. Even Dermablend, Tarte Shape Tape, Lancome Ultra Tiente none of the heaviest duty concealers cover enough without the red/purple peeking through and I have to put so many layers that it accentuates all of my fine lines and wrinkles. I hope this works! P.S. have you ever tried laser correction for undereye? I signed up to get that procedure done and you look like you have broken capillaries underneath which is causing the blood to seep under the skin (like I have). I am going to try it because I'm so sick of spending an hour per day and lots of money on concealers trying to cover my "shiners".
Hope adding the green will work for you love! I have tried so many concealers as well I truly love the Kat Von D one in the tube shown here not the new formula in the wand. I did look into the laser procedure but honestly I am a BIG chicken when it comes to any non necessary treatments LOL so I don't think I could ever go through that but maybe ONE day we will see. Would love to hear your story if it does indeed work for you!
I have tried correctors over and over and it's a nightmare. I tried the green corrector of Urban Decay and I tried just enough to cover the red, but not so much that it covers the entire undereye. I let it dry and everything. But everytime I put the concealer over it, it turned the concealer yellow and I know I didn't put too much green, if I put any less green then it would not have covered the red. I tried so many ways. So as far as using the Becca salmon corrector, the same thing, as soon as I put the concealer on it turns the concealer pink. The other thing with correctors is no matter how lightly I pat the concealer on over it, it moves the corrector that is covering the red and dark purple, and so the purple seeps through. I tried all of the steps exactly how you do it. I have to blend the concealer but using a damp or dry sponge still sheers out the products and you can see the purple. No matter what I do it doesn't work. The only way to get the dark circles completely covered more than 75% covered, I have to pile on thick concealer like Tarte Shape Tape or creamy tubes/pots concealers, but then I quickly look a hot mess with creasing and accentuation of texture and wrinkles under there. Baking makes me look old and dry as hell so that is out, and I have to use the tiniest amount of setting or pressed power on a concealer brush or BB but no matter what I do everything wears off and separates in that area pretty quickly. I have easily spent $500 on products, concealers, correctors, undereye primers/smoothers, eye creams, etc. etc. just experimenting and trying something that works. Nothing works. The Becca I didn't buy it but I scooped some in a sample jar to take home and it really gives the scaley fish scale look it looks terrible on me, no matter how much or how little I use. I am 46, just wait until you get older and have crepeyness and wrinkles and fine lines under your eyes, everything you're doing now will accentuate the wrinkles and texture horribly. This is why I do not mind forking out the money for laser, I'm getting it Monday, it could not make the situation any worse than it already is, it can only improve it. I'm not scared, I have had lower eyelid blepharoplasty where they removed the fat underneath the lids, so laser is nothing compared to that and I'm excited rather than scared. I'm excited to get some results I can live with and so I can stop hunting for a holy grail concealer that works with all of my problems! They said it will reduce the broken capillaries and tighten the skin under my eyes so I have less lines and crepeyness that no eye cream has helped. Please wish me luck!
wow finally someone who post a video on dark circles that is helpful! after you put the brighten powder, do you brush it off and apply your foundation on top? or do you leave the powder on and put your foundation on top of the brighten powder ?
Yes you can dust off with a brush but I don't ever need too as I don't pack on a huge amount such as "bake" in this video in which when you do that you would need to brush off. My foundation is applied first then I do this concealing process, you can't apply liquids over powders. Hope that helps xoxo

I've battled since my teens and sometimes I'll find something that works then they stop making it and I have to start again :( mine are basically lined with purple veins so can be really hard to hide but your video was interesting and very helpful, Thankyou :)

Since yellow is the opposite of purple, I thought yellow would work better, but does it not work that way? I have light skin but I'm not sure if that would make any difference. :)

Most you tubers recommends peach or orange correctors for under eyes but those are to cancel out blue while I felt my dark circles are actually red but I couldn’t find anyone using green under eyes.... I am so glad I found you... Thank you so much for the tutorial. BTW your eye makeup is gorgeous.

I'm super greatful to find tutorials from women with under eye bags and dark circles. I got them from my mom, had them all my life. I feel it ages me even though I'm only 25. Mine aren't as dark as yours but my under eye bags are much puffier, lower and wider than yours (without makeup) I hate it because I can cover up at least some of the darkness but the puffiness creates shadows, lines, etc. Ugh I just hate it. If I could change any one part of my body with surgery, it would be getting rid of these things.

+Wendy Misener Yes exactly! that is the main problem when I would look for direction from "experts" at makeup stores were they would sell me and think ONE product would cure it all but from teaching myself and being a makeup artist I have learned all types are different and need different corrections :)
I know this video is old but I just came across it. And want to say thank you I have been struggling with Dark Circles since I was young like yourself. Always struggled with them and made fun of and picked on like you were,even so when I became an adult i would not say picked on like in school but semi close. I now know what to use for my severe dark circles(which are bit worse than yours now that I have gotten older) I will be purchasing the products you use and recommend with one addition since I have redness and purple (love genetics) I just hope none of it settles into my fine lines,I will know very soon. I think we are on the same wavelength about how to choose and apply the products. I don't like using too many high end products at the same spot. I always blend the crease before I use the powder the same way you do lol needless to say, I like the video!
I've had DC all of my life. AND now that I'm 50, i also have lost the fat volume under my eye...i hope this works for more mature skin. I feel i look old and hollowed out.

I suffer from really bad dark circles too and even though having some kind of dark circles is normal, I haven't met many people with extremely dark ones like mine. It's just so frustrating having people ask you if you're sick of if you haven't slept at all or stuff like that. I think that finding the right way to conceal your dark circles is great and it definitely helps when you're doing your full make up, but sometimes I wish I could look like a normal person without having to wear 3 different kind of concealers :(

That's the best video I've seen on dark circles here ! Thank you for the tip about creasing ( how you smooth the creases with your finger before setting the area) I also noticed that when I use a base under my eyes, it's much easier to work with the products and they crease less , Great job and cheers from Morocco :)

Awesome video - very informative! Im thinking it's the anti-redness piece that I have been missing! I will definitely try that green product you used. One additional trick I recently learned was to use an eyeshadow primer under the eye to prevent creasing. It helps a lot. I don't care if it takes 4 products or 40 - to eliminate those hereditary dark circles is worth whatever it takes!

I've tried a million different things too! That Becca just seems like it's not peach enough, I'll try it like you do. But I do love the erase paste from benefit, #2, bc #1 is more pink, and doesn't cover as much. I use the tiniest amount, then concealer :) Great video! Thanks!

Now YOU my dear girl have some dark circles. Good job on making them disappear. Yours are close to mine except mine are all blue/purple. No red, and go all the way across from inner tear duct to outer edge of the eye. Two girls at Ulta told me to use yellow to correct. Maybe had to do with my skin tone which is med with warm undertones. The salmon or peach just wasn't do it. I could still see them.

Thank you! Finally a step by step that actually makes sense. I do not suffer from the "born with issue" but I do have the aging thing against me. 51 now and finally actually wearing makeup. Now that I am wearing makeup, the under eye color and fine lines really are showing through. AND I have the whole "blind as a bat thing" going against me, so my glasses magnify anything that is going on under there. I am definitely going to try this. I have been looking for the NYX products but cannot find them in any of my local DS. Where can I get the NYX stuff? Thank you again.... this aging "beauty" thanks you. :)

My whole life people thought I had been punched in the eye or had no sleep and when people didn't know my name they referred to me as "the girl who always looks tired". I have been doing things wrong, using the peach corrector then a skin colored concealer over it and the red/purple always still peeks through and all of that work is wasted (even when using a damp BB no amount of concealer covers and the peach does not stay put). Now I'm going to try what you're doing with the green fluid first, then the peach. Even Dermablend, Tarte Shape Tape, Lancome Ultra Tiente none of the heaviest duty concealers cover enough without the red/purple peeking through and I have to put so many layers that it accentuates all of my fine lines and wrinkles. I hope this works! P.S. have you ever tried laser correction for undereye? I signed up to get that procedure done and you look like you have broken capillaries underneath which is causing the blood to seep under the skin (like I have). I am going to try it because I'm so sick of spending an hour per day and lots of money on concealers trying to cover my "shiners".
Hope adding the green will work for you love! I have tried so many concealers as well I truly love the Kat Von D one in the tube shown here not the new formula in the wand. I did look into the laser procedure but honestly I am a BIG chicken when it comes to any non necessary treatments LOL so I don't think I could ever go through that but maybe ONE day we will see. Would love to hear your story if it does indeed work for you!
I have tried correctors over and over and it's a nightmare. I tried the green corrector of Urban Decay and I tried just enough to cover the red, but not so much that it covers the entire undereye. I let it dry and everything. But everytime I put the concealer over it, it turned the concealer yellow and I know I didn't put too much green, if I put any less green then it would not have covered the red. I tried so many ways. So as far as using the Becca salmon corrector, the same thing, as soon as I put the concealer on it turns the concealer pink. The other thing with correctors is no matter how lightly I pat the concealer on over it, it moves the corrector that is covering the red and dark purple, and so the purple seeps through. I tried all of the steps exactly how you do it. I have to blend the concealer but using a damp or dry sponge still sheers out the products and you can see the purple. No matter what I do it doesn't work. The only way to get the dark circles completely covered more than 75% covered, I have to pile on thick concealer like Tarte Shape Tape or creamy tubes/pots concealers, but then I quickly look a hot mess with creasing and accentuation of texture and wrinkles under there. Baking makes me look old and dry as hell so that is out, and I have to use the tiniest amount of setting or pressed power on a concealer brush or BB but no matter what I do everything wears off and separates in that area pretty quickly. I have easily spent $500 on products, concealers, correctors, undereye primers/smoothers, eye creams, etc. etc. just experimenting and trying something that works. Nothing works. The Becca I didn't buy it but I scooped some in a sample jar to take home and it really gives the scaley fish scale look it looks terrible on me, no matter how much or how little I use. I am 46, just wait until you get older and have crepeyness and wrinkles and fine lines under your eyes, everything you're doing now will accentuate the wrinkles and texture horribly. This is why I do not mind forking out the money for laser, I'm getting it Monday, it could not make the situation any worse than it already is, it can only improve it. I'm not scared, I have had lower eyelid blepharoplasty where they removed the fat underneath the lids, so laser is nothing compared to that and I'm excited rather than scared. I'm excited to get some results I can live with and so I can stop hunting for a holy grail concealer that works with all of my problems! They said it will reduce the broken capillaries and tighten the skin under my eyes so I have less lines and crepeyness that no eye cream has helped. Please wish me luck!

wow finally someone who post a video on dark circles that is helpful! after you put the brighten powder, do you brush it off and apply your foundation on top? or do you leave the powder on and put your foundation on top of the brighten powder ?
Yes you can dust off with a brush but I don't ever need too as I don't pack on a huge amount such as "bake" in this video in which when you do that you would need to brush off. My foundation is applied first then I do this concealing process, you can't apply liquids over powders. Hope that helps xoxo

I have really bad dark circles as well, but they're more purple toned. Would you say that yellow or peach corrector would work best on them? Since yellow is the opposite of purple, I thought yellow would work better, but does it not work that way? I have light skin but I'm not sure if that would make any difference. :)
If they are purple toned than the peach would work best, if you have light skin than a lighter peach/salmon.
