Activates my braincell about how the framing of any outgroup as biologically “more dangerous” is disproven on its face simply by the fact we basically all have teeth and the human bite force is no laughing matter, but we all just trust that we won’t bite each other
My parents bought me one of their bags for high school. It was my first year and really wanted a cool one. I picked the one that had a cute spoon and fork on it that said “spooning leads to forking” and only in later years didn’t I realise I spent my early years of highscool with an innuendo plastered all over my bag.
The "Miss" characters are "bad/adult" versions of a childs book series call "Little Miss ..." Little Miss Bossy, Little Miss Neat, etc Little Miss Late, etc
My grandfather bought me a “boys are stupid” sticker to put in my locker right before I started middle school. Looking back, it felt like it was intended to discourage me from any growing interest in boys by making the idea of interacting with them more childish and antagonistic
It may have also been an attempt to pre-empt the kind of tween boy bullying he knew you would begin to receive. Anything they did or said to try to hurt you, you could just recall that they're stupid, so it doesn't matter.

@@juliacondensada I mean, that's because murders against women are taken much more seriously. Men tend to make up the overwhelming majority of murder victims, at least in the US, UK, Canada, and similar western countries.
@@Raphe9000no they aren't. men are more likely to be murdered and overwhelmingly more likely to be murderers because they're more likely to be involved in violent / criminal activity, gangs, etc, and theyre more likely to respond to confrontation with violence. they're also more likely to put themselves at risk whereas women are taught from a young age to stay in groups and what areas to avoid to keep themselves safe. the reason why women being killed makes the news so often is because of the *reason* why they're killed. women are overwhelmingly more likely to be murdered because of sexism and domestic violence than men are and another woman being murdered by her boyfriend, husband, ex, etc is a bigger story because dv is such a huge problem. this is like during the blm movement how ppl would say "we'll police abuse white people too" like yeah cause police are terrible, they aren't targeting and abusing white people for being white though that's why it's not about them rn
Because "boys" is the only targeted group he and his mostly white male audience used to be a part of. @@AprilBorealis You're right. As kids, we don't know better. We look at what our peers are doing and we get our morality from that. If an adult gave you that journal, a kids' reaction is usually, 'If a grownup approved of this, it must be okay.' The failure here isn't the kids, it's the adults who thought it'd be cute to sell inappropriate jokes to kids. They thought, 'Isn't it cute how little girls and boys hate each other? Let's make merch of that?' Never considering that, maybe there'd be LESS of that if it wasn't intentionally normalized. In general, I get upset at things where, any one person's conscience might be uncomfortable with [hurtful thing], but then if everyone else says [hurtful thing] is okay, that individual conscience gets squashed down. Back in middle school, I had a classmate who multiple times wore a shirt that said “cool story babe, now go make me a sandwich”. Mind you this wasn’t in 2004, this was in 2014. With how much influence Andrew Tate and the like have on the minds of young boys, maybe these shirts should make a return!

Isn’t it super fascinating that in the 2000’s pointless racism towards Asian was so common you could get away with selling shirts like these 3:13 but two decades later Japanese manga are outselling American comic books in the US and every one loves bulba tea
theres a very ironic pattern ive observed with a lot of racists where theyll appear to love aspects of another culture, but then also belittle the people the culture is from. an example being there were a few guy students (they all knew each other) @ my old high school who were Sooo nauseatingly immature. i'd overhear them make comments about the asian girl students, calling them all sorts of names including the c slur, but at the same time they loved reading manga and would obsess over anime girls? ??😭😭shit used to trip me & my friends out BADD LMFAO.
in a similar vein; i had lived in south virginia for a time and you can already imagine the type of people you can encounter there 😭i had lil nasties insult my appearance, such as my skin, and tell me to "go back to africa" becuase "i dont belong here," but what was funny asl to me is that some of these same people would have tans ?>?@? As an Asian American, I wonder if the reason as to why the really racist shirts didn’t get as addressed in the public eye is because racism towards Asians in white america is kinda seen as “acceptable”. Faux Asian accents, China man jokes, and racist t shirts kinda just… happen and when I try to explain why they make me feel uncomfortable to my white people I know it’s definitely a bit of an argument. I think there’s a sentiment that you “can’t” be racist towards Asians in America. I’m not really sure why, but it’s just something I’ve noticed. I’ve had to explain to people my age why you shouldn’t call actual humans “oriental”. The response usually isn’t embarrassment or “Oh shit ok”. It’s usually more “Well, the orient refers to the west,” or “Well Asian people call themselves that”. Well I’m Asian and I’m telling you I don’t :/
"The orient refers to the west" (i think you meant the east btw) "ok so do we call everyone from australia "southerners" now since they're in the southern hemisphere?"
I think the fact a lot of Asians helped build the railroads plays a part, besides "Taking our jobs" The press literally talked about them like they were machines. Because unsurprisingly, immigrants will break their backs trying to secure a place. And then came the "Chinese" Exclusion Act, it's all beyond messed up
I don't remember anything about the company, the products, or the character Trendy Wendy, but I definitely remember my best friend from high school saying, "Boys are stupid, throw rocks at them." There were so many sarcastic t-shirts they all kind of blend together. I do remember Happy Bunny pretty well.
I haven’t thought about David and Goliath for a long time! Unlocked a core memory here! I used to have a t-shirt which I adored which said “Come to the dark side we have cookies” 😅 going to the store was so much fun but everything was too expensive when I was a child
I doesn't surprise me that during that time the more concerning t-shirts (like the heavily racist ones and the one with "except when I'm drunk") weren't the ones to recieve backlash. It may only have happened in my circle, but I remember the 2000s being really mean-spirited, in the sense that unlike nowadays corcerning yourself about certain subjects like consent and mental health made people call you exaggerated or too sensitive. Only a person who is already controversial during that time would've made people notice other problematic stuff. That's why this story disappoints me but doesn't surprise me either. It was two decades ago but the contrasting differences to what's considered sensitive nowadays make me loose a little hope
I take it more as a sign of progress, personally. Most of us KNOW this stuff isn't good now, and the majority of peoples' reactions are gonna be a similar amount of discomfort or disgust, and those whose reactions are anything else are seen as in the wrong. What was once seen as just "edgy" is now seen for what it actually is: gross and insensitive attempts at humor under the guise of dark comedy.
My sister passed down a "boys are stupid throw rocks at them" shirt and I still have it. I've worn it out and to sleep before. I still find it kinda funny but of course nothing beyond being satire
New childhood memory unlocked: I had a notebook with this exact design but nobody could figure out how on earth it got there. My mum was horrified and took it away when she saw it (so it clearly wasn’t her) and my dad would NEVER promote something that encourages violence (very much a pacifist). This must have been in 2014ish, so that notebook had likely been sitting around for years before I somehow found it in the closet of my room. The only thing I can guess is some kind of Christmas present in a past year, but I never recall opening something like that, nor did my parents recall seeing me receive something like that-
When I tell you that I looked up the Blah girls about 72 hours ago because U randomly remembered them, please believe me. I can’t believe you made a video at the exact moment I remembered them. That is so strange and awesome!
I had no idea these were a thing but I do remember a t-shirt trend among boys in like 2004/2005 that were these pink shirts that would always say something along the lines of “Real Men Wear Pink” or “Tough Guys Wear Pink”. The 2000s were truly a wild west of stereotypically gendered things…
Omg, this unlocked a memory for me! I remember trendy wendy stuff being at hot topic when i was a kid and seeing that "throw rocks at them" design on shirts. "You can well imagine what would happen if we had boys wearing t-shirts with slogans that were anti-girl; we simply wouldn't allow it." 2000s boys' t-shirt: "I mIss my sIstEr bUt my AIm Is ImprOvIng"
That's about siblings though, not girls in general. I saw sibling rivalry shirts that had to do with all genders. The shirts that were actually sexist against girls were obviously bad, but so were the shirts sexist against boys. The siblings shirts were not bad in either direction though.
I remember the David and Goliath shirts well, they were everywhere. Everyone at my school wanted 'spooning leads to forking' with a cute cartoon spoon and fork on it My mum said I wasn't allowed lol

This reminds me of something I went through in middle school that is honestly so stupid that it feels like something I made up. On my first day of middle school, I wore one of those Happy Bunny shirts that said, "I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter." Apparently, one of the cheerleaders in my class block somehow took offense to my shirt and made it her life goal to absolutely ruin my life. She befriended me, himg out with the group of friends I ate lunch with, and then slowly poisoned the water by spreading rumors about me and talking behind my back. By the end of the year, I was a social pariah with no friends, and it was bad enough that no one wanted to be my friend the next year either. 👏Over 👏a 👏Happy 👏Bunny 👏Shirt! 👏 Bro, cancel culture today has nothing on how we treated each other in the early 2000s. We all just kind of low-key hated everyone while picking who this week's Villian was. Glad we've evolved since then, even if it's just by a smidge.
"But you see, we NEED rich people cuz it trickles down" doesnt hold water when your average rich person is investing in detached-from-reality, anti human nonsense like ai and nfts (It doesnt hold water regardless, just an extra kick in the nads)
OMG. i remember in 2008, i went to the stupid factory shop in hawaii and my mom bought me the "boys are stupid throw rocks at them" shirt. idk what happened to the shirt, but this just unlocked a deep memory.
I don't remember the "throw rocks" shirt, but those "funny" Asian shirts gave me a truly revolting flashback to the worst of 90s/00s edginess. Everyone who lived through that era (myself included) didn't even question this kind of stuff, but looking back, it's at minimum exceptionally embarrassing.
I was surprised you didn't bring up the art theft! This guy was an infamous art thief (and probably still is.) I remember there was a big thread comparing his "designs" with all the shit he had traced.
i hate how the exact same company was putting down women, asian people, and indigenous people, but as soon as they put down boys, THAT’S where people drew the line and it became a big controversy. like, i don’t think the throw rocks at boys shirt is a good shirt nor do i think the message is good, but the lack of controversy for all the other stuff reeks of misogyny and racism. it seems pretty clear to me why this is the shirt everyone was up in arms about :/
Making this a “boy bashing” issue when I literally had a shirt as a kid that said “I miss my sister…but my aim is getting better.” Both genders had shirts like that and they were funny.
when i was really young i was in the mall with my mother and she found a pin on the ground that said "boys are stupid, throw rocks at them" and i remember how delighted she was, and how she loved it for like a decade.

As a guy rocks are my weakness plssss dont throw it at me
The Rock? I'll like that
I'd love to see a video on Happy Bunny, some of the slogans remind me of them
Same!
Happy Bunny? I used ta read th' Dumb Bunnies book series when I be a tiny landlubber, but I only be hearin' of Happy Bunny technically yesterday.
I used to have a “Who Farted?” t-shirt as a kid. Was always a conversation starter.
My sister passed down a "boys are stupid throw rocks at them" shirt and I still have it. I've worn it out and to sleep before. I still find it kinda funny but of course nothing beyond being satire
Can't imagine pointing out a shirt to my dad and watching him standing there getting so mad that he schemes up a media blitz campaign about it
New childhood memory unlocked: I had a notebook with this exact design but nobody could figure out how on earth it got there.
WAKE UP BABE, IZZZYZZZ POSTED
THIS IS THE BEST THURSDAY OF MY LIFE
@@Salix_babylonica ALSO SIGMA CUZ MOTHER MOTHER POSTED ‼️‼️
I had no idea these were a thing but I do remember a t-shirt trend among boys in like 2004/2005 that were these pink shirts that would always say something along the lines of “Real Men Wear Pink” or “Tough Guys Wear Pink”. The 2000s were truly a wild west of stereotypically gendered things…
My husband’s mom got him a shirt that's neon pink and it says "Don't Laugh, This is Your Girlfriend's Shirt" 💀
Omg, this unlocked a memory for me! I remember trendy wendy stuff being at hot topic when i was a kid and seeing that "throw rocks at them" design on shirts.
See, this is one of the many reasons why I like your videos -- they're not only entertaining but they also unlock memories about things I had forgotten LOL
I’m from England and I had that “boys are stupid throw rocks at them” on a CD case! On the other side it said “boys belong behind bars”. I still have it 😂
9:47 "Boys come from the stupid factory"
Don't we?
New band name: "Stupid Factory."

I used to have a poster of the "boys are stupid throw rocks at them" poster up in my room, yet i am boys!
My mum still has a drinks glass with that design I got as a kid.
Butcher: oi eugie, we gotta kill omelanda
M.M’s shirt the next scene: 19:09
Doesn't he usually wear band/rapper shirts? I don't recall any of them being in particularly poor taste save for the dead prez one when they were literally in a safety bunker protecting a presidential nominee.
"You can well imagine what would happen if we had boys wearing t-shirts with slogans that were anti-girl; we simply wouldn't allow it."
2000s boys' t-shirt: "I mIss my sIstEr bUt my AIm Is ImprOvIng"
Lmao
Boys 100% had their own versions of these shirts at that time
That's about siblings though, not girls in general. I saw sibling rivalry shirts that had to do with all genders. The shirts that were actually sexist against girls were obviously bad, but so were the shirts sexist against boys. The siblings shirts were not bad in either direction though.
It's funny how a design about throwing rocks at boys was where people draw the line!
I remember the David and Goliath shirts well, they were everywhere. Everyone at my school wanted 'spooning leads to forking' with a cute cartoon spoon and fork on it
My mum said I wasn't allowed lol
4:00 OH MY GOD I HAD A BOOK WITH THAT CHARACTER AS A TWEEN
It was literally called "Boys Are Stupid Throw Rocks At Them" oh my god the memories are flooding back what the hell
EDIT: 9:23 OMG THERE IT IS THAT'S THE BOOK I HAD
EDIT 2: 20:36 After this and seeing the comments, JUST HOW POPULAR WAS THAT BOOK?
@@CaitlinKoi it’s honestly kind of concerning not just how many people had this book but how many people have like a strong emotional attachment to it
This reminds me of something I went through in middle school that is honestly so stupid that it feels like something I made up.
Bro, cancel culture today has nothing on how we treated each other in the early 2000s. We all just kind of low-key hated everyone while picking who this week's Villian was. Glad we've evolved since then, even if it's just by a smidge.
Jesus Christ, man, middle schoolers are monsters.
Nothing like Izzzyzzz bringing up something from my unconscious
I might have an AP essay due tomorrow but we always have time for Izzzyzzz
"But you see, we NEED rich people cuz it trickles down" doesnt hold water when your average rich person is investing in detached-from-reality, anti human nonsense like ai and nfts
(It doesnt hold water regardless, just an extra kick in the nads)
OMG. i remember in 2008, i went to the stupid factory shop in hawaii and my mom bought me the "boys are stupid throw rocks at them" shirt. idk what happened to the shirt, but this just unlocked a deep memory.
This guy was an infamous art thief (and probably still is.) I remember there was a big thread comparing his "designs" with all the shit he had traced.
i hate how the exact same company was putting down women, asian people, and indigenous people, but as soon as they put down boys, THAT’S where people drew the line and it became a big controversy. like, i don’t think the throw rocks at boys shirt is a good shirt nor do i think the message is good, but the lack of controversy for all the other stuff reeks of misogyny and racism. it seems pretty clear to me why this is the shirt everyone was up in arms about :/
People, especially men, love to mock everyone until someone mocks them.
omg, I've always wondered what people meant when they talked about Goldman Sachs!
Making this a “boy bashing” issue when I literally had a shirt as a kid that said “I miss my sister…but my aim is getting better.” Both genders had shirts like that and they were funny.
It's funny because siblings are terrible.
when i was really young i was in the mall with my mother and she found a pin on the ground that said "boys are stupid, throw rocks at them" and i remember how delighted she was, and how she loved it for like a decade.
