My grandfather ordered a new 1969 charger when he had a mid life crisis. It has since been passed down to me. It has 82k miles and besides maintenance items it is all original. Every time I drive it I smile. It doesn't handle or stop worth a damn but you always feel like a boss when you roll up next to a prius with the big block mopar rumbling under the hood. I'm so happy that other people enjoy these cars as much as I do.

I want a 68 more than almost any other car. The only car I would ever choose over a 68 is a 1970 Buick GSX with the Stage 1 performance package. That's it.
As for me, my fav and most iconic movie cars are: 1.- This 1970 Charger for F&F saga. 2.- 1958 Plymouth Fury for Christine. 3.- 1970 Dodge Challenger for Vanishing Point. 4.- 1976 Ford Falcon XB GT for Mad Max. 5.- 1967 Mustang Shelby GT500 (Eleanor) for Gone for 60 seconds. 6.- 1982 Pontiac Trans Am (two tone black and silver for KARR in Knight Rider).
It's very nice, but I am not sure, what about Ford Mustang 68 and Pontiac Firebird 400 turbo 73. I am not telling that they are better, but they are as good ass the Charger 70. In my opinion.

Pugrug 420 They want you to think that Dom was in a Charger in Tokyo Drift. And maybe the guy even thought it was a Charger. But it wasn't. It was a Plymouth Roadrunner. Which I'm sure you knew, anywho. The Roadrunner is still badass but the Charger is so much better.

I was fortunate enough to buy a 2013 Police Pursuit Charger in 11/2013 with 4,000 miles (now 22,000 miles- hey, you can't enjoy it if you don't put some miles on it :) ) It really is only a Charger in name only, because the car came with 3 pages of heavy duty/ high performance options, and NO high speed limiter chip :) This car drives unbelievably well, and if this car doesn't pump up your adrenaline, you had better check your pulse to see if you are still alive :) I had a 1973 Trans Am with a Super Duty 455 (1 of 252), built for street racing, that hit 155 mph, but I haven't pushed my Charger that hard.... as I don't want to get a super speeder ticket, or end up in jail. I get just as much of a rush in my Charger, as I did in my Trans Am :)

I've talked to every builder from the fast and furious franchise, Eddie Paul and Dennis McCarthy. One was never built that survived the movie. Check out my furious 7 charger video and Dennis explains it. They always wanted to build Dom's charger with a real blower. Dennis built only one and then production crashed it as soon as it was done

Once you get above a certain point of HP a typical clutch cant handle it. All very high HP cars are automatics even more so for a drag car. Also while you are wasting your time shifting a manual automatic(think modern super cars transmissions) have already shifted and are pulling away.
zazuch You don't waste time shifting if you know how to shift properly. Plus, it gives you a better feel and control of the car, you can go to the limits with it. Also,for example, an 69 charger with a 440 isn't too hard to handle with a clutch, since it has what, 300 HP?
