I think this one might be too out there for me, but I do really like how they seemed to accurately depict how bizarre dreams/nightmares are... while you're in them, everything seems normal, but if you try to tell someone about them when you wake up, you realize just how extremely weird and non sequitur they are
This looks great, although I see a lot of people misunderstanding the theme of this game. The game isn’t about dreams but about a man who grew up with a lot of childhood trauma, instead of facing it he turns to drugs. Which is why his “dreams” are so dark and horrifying, the smiley face entity could be personified as drug influence. How it keeps forcing him to relive bad memory’s and constantly laughing at his pain, so be warned this is not a happy game.
got this today since it's on sale! i've loved amanita design's games since i was a kid so seeing they made this made it worth checking out just for that! i love the aesthetic and vibe of this game, it gives me mad david firth vibes and that's definitely a compliment in my book!
On a side-note, if people stumble upon this game and love it, another game I would recommend looking into is Bulb Boy. As I was playing through this, I was sure it was the same devs, but it turns out it was not - Either way, they hit very similar notes, and are both short but sweet playthroughs...
@@SwitchStars yeah i had to look up for the answer three or four times, some of the solutions were a bit obtuse but the world building and the story were worth the trouble but yeah this one seems even more inviting just from the looks of it. really interested in it.
Certainly is different to most games. Maybe one to play on Halloween. It is good to see a game that is not an asset switch of mobile phone port. So I compliment the developers on making an original game. Well worth supporting them.
Thanks March, glad you enjoyed it. The puzzles in this one aren't overly challenging, its more about interacting with stuff to work things out rather than really having to think to solve them.
Given the themes it has and what it delves into, I’ll be giving this one a miss. But it looks great for those who are looking for this sort of thing and I think you’re right in that it does seem to work well in portraying how strange a dream or nightmare can be. The visuals work for it as well. Thanks for the review.
I’m just very disappointed on its ESRB age rating. I was wanting this to be rated M but instead is rated T. I think the reason why is because of the cartoony imagery. Still, it should’ve been M rated.
It's quite dark but I personally wouldn't say there was anything to push it in to M terratory, there are probably only 2 small sections where I would say it gets a bit more gory.
Yea, I remember playing a little Machinarium years back but never finished it, I haven't actually played any of their other games but I really like the look of Creaks, the visual design is awesome.

Yea Kacheek, I think this will be a bit too much for quite a few people 😂 I really enjoyed it though, I'm just messed up lol

The review is happier than the game itself. And we all know how furious/fierce you can be in your reviews.
Haha 😂 Yea this was one of the happier ones.
@@SwitchStars Agreed.

Yea its one of the most interesting and weird games I've played this year, well worth giving a go especially if you can grab it on sale.

Thanks for the recommendation Pooki, I have seen Bulb Boy before but never played it, will have to take a look.
looks great. machinarium was amazing back in the day, this one looks just as solid. probably going to pick it up during sales.
Yea Dih, I'd say that Machinarium had more difficult puzzles than this one, but I prefer Happy Games atmosphere.

Yea I've not played their other games bar a little Machinarium but hopefully they work on more dark projects like this, I enjoyed it.
Right up my alley. Wishlisted. As usual, great review, Luke. :)
Enjoy Melissa, and thanks 😊

What a review! I really liked it. I kinda like puzzle games but I'm not good at them, maybe I'll check this game out

Thanks for the review. It definitely looks interesting. Maybe when there's a sale.
Youre welcome Nate, Its a good game, though understandably a little expensive for some people.
There should be a warning to not use drugs before playing, great review
Yea, I forgot to add that one, only the brave should attempt it 😂 thanks Wez
Hello random youtuber. I watched a full happy game playthough today. Also youtube ads are swearing at me
Hi random commenter, did you enjoy it? If I were you, I'd swear back at them!
How bad can it be? He has his dog to help. Certainly is pretty. Thank you for the review.
Haha he does, I tried to avoid showing any of the puzzles and most of the creepy bits 😉 you're welcome Lun.
Well, he has a dog, ball, and a bunny plush too,
