    Do you need a memory saver if your changing the battery yourself? Will you lose any important information if you don't use one? Thank you.

      The biggest pain in the ass that will happen to it is that the code reader they plug into it to pass emissions inspection will throw at least 4 to six codes..which will have to be driven off of it. Usually 2-300 miles to get that done. So, unless you have a LOT of time between the time you change it, and your inspection date..plan on spending at least two days getting rid of the codes!! There are sites on line that tell you how to drive your vehicle to clear the codes. You WILL need a code checker so you can test it yourself to know when they are clear..don't spend more than $20 on one..you can get them as low as $10..they all work the same. Even if you have to jump your battery..odds are you will pop up codes on it as well. They should sue Chevy for that crap!!

    our equinox had a difficult time removing the negative cable end is the cable supposed to expand when 10 mm nut is removed my cable end had a lot of green build-up around it i cleaned it with vinegar & old tooth brush the positive cable went much easier.

    • @TheBatteryShop
      @TheBatteryShop  3 роки тому +1

      Hi - Thanks for watching and sharing your experience! The green build-up is corrosion that can deteriorate the cable clamps over time. One of the best stuff to use for clean-up is a baking soda and water solution because it is a base that neutralizes the battery acid that causes the corrosion.
