At the same time, it's the optimal play. If the opponent decides to stay in with Ferro and click a move, it's not going to be getting much value against Zeraora, and it's still okay chip damage. Comparatively, if the opponent swaps out, you heavily swing the game in your favor by limiting the offensive pressure the opponent can output.
Tbh I didn't think anyone would risk pelipper there because it's such an obvious predict to make right, it's the only resist to cc except zapdos w But letting toad get chipped also isn't worth it, so idk. didn't seem like the play to me on the opponents part tho still Was so surprised that that predict worked out
@@inazuma-fulgur I agree with you. Switching in a pelliper on Zerora is risky considering he is threatening your Ferro with CC and your team is susceptible to plasma fists. Toad would’ve been okay but I’m sure you want him healthy to click earth power and weather ball. Zapdos would have been a nice mid ground if it was EV’d with Defense. Pelliper literally makes this team function so that was a bad switch imo.
I think Freezai has the best commentary of anyone on youtube. Would love to see more third party commentary like France vs China I feel like I learn a lot from that
Sacking Zeraora to Seismitoad to pick your switch-in was the right play. There was too much to lose on a bad prediction with icy wind and earth power at play.
Turn 2 I might have thought to plasma fists into an expected zapdos switch (into close combat) to scout the set but tbh I probably would have gone Ferro expecting the seismitoad (to block zeraora's volt switch) or to absorb a potential leech seed/power whip because I would assume zeraora takes a lot from whip at -1 defense (if you had gone for close combat) and would never ever have actually fisted there
I hope you will fight Redemption for France in WC after is ban, is a very good player who loves the beautiful game Is also a UA-cam guy with 3 good channels : Redemption ; Le pote de Fildrong ; Redeon
8:40 I would have never traded zeraora for damage because it was your best win condition. I would have switched to volc or lando directly and sacked one of them for damage on toad.
The only special coverage it gets is focus blast, sludge wave, and icy wind. Sludge wave covers grass types, but icy wind also covers 4x weak dragons so the low power doesnt really matter. Thats just my guess on why they chose icy wind though
@@voidroad Grass knot is basically useless in ou. You already have sludge wave to deal with fini, grass knot would only really help against other rain teams, but even then you have earth power to deal more. Rain always struggles against defensive offense, where ice is potentially 4* against 2-3 mons (lando/gar/pult. And also helps put rillaboom in a speed tier/damage range of your other mons/surprise toxic. Almost neccessary to use it.

@トーン No they don't. They ban anything they are to autistic to deal with. And competitive pokemon has been doubles since like 2008 or 2009 and smogon STILL hasn't adopted even a single doubles format. Gamefreak literally does what little balancing they do around DOUBLES and smogon refuses to accept it. They just sit in the corner and REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE like jackasses about everything they don't like. And banhammer it. Don't even try to have an intelligent discussion about it. Banning greavard instead of last respects was a prime example. Greavard is a middling pokemon. Last respects is fine in 2v2, bring 4 format where it doesn't get over 150 power until greavard is literally in a 1v2+ situation, and the pokemon its on isn't very good anyways. Then just straight up make shit up. Its like playing games with my fucking 8 year old and his friends who make up fucking rules in the middle of the game to benefit them. They literally cannot cope with how the games actually function and make up their own fucking stupid ass rules, or just ban shit they can't cope with full stop.

that zapdos hit every hurricane and thunder except two* =O.
Thats the problem, is that 80% accurate moves only have 50% accuracy, unless your opponent is using them, in which case they have 100% accuracy.
