So happy to have found your show! I praise God for every true Christian I come across . We can hold each other up in prayer and our country ! Thank you for your show and may God Bless you greatly ! If we focus on Jesus everything in our lives will fall into place, peace and joy 🌝❤️
YOU ARE A SWEET WOMEN AND I LOVE TO WATCH YOUR SHOW. AND I LOVE THE WAY YOU TALK ABOUT GOD AND PUT HIM FIRST. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU IN EVERY THING YOU SAY AND ALL YOU DO.
Looks delicious my grandma is 95 she would make this she just had to move to assisted living but may get moved to a nursing a home please pray for her she is not doing good her name is Maxine
If you make it, try the pastel colored marshmallows! They make a beautiful salad for an Easter meal and no one has ever said the taste different from the white ones, but I haven’t made it in a few years so you might want to sample them before adding!
This has to be in every "church" lady cookbook I own!! Those cookbooks are a treasure trove of old time recipes. Recently I came across a church lady that belonged to my Grandma's church in NC and she had a cookbook from the '50's that had recipes from not only my grandma but my great-grandma!! Thanks for the recipes, our old time recipes are going to go by the wayside before long. My cousin and I have threatened to fix up recipe books but we can't ever remember to write quantities down since neither one of us measures anything🙄!!
I'm an E. TN native but have family that grew up in NC. I love church cookbooks. I'll never have a problem getting all my mom's church cookbooks when she passes. My sibling looks up recipes online. I use them as a guide because I'm not one to measure anything.
I do not even cook, having been blessed with a wonderful wife who very much enjoys cooking, on top of everything else she already does, still I love just watching these videos. Everything feels so wholesome and, as my Parents were from the South, so like home.
Thanks you for the ambrosia recipe. I LOVE your show and YOU. You care about people. Your kind words are always appreciated. God bless you, your family, and everyone watching.
I will be praying for you and Bret this Easter week. There has to be a way we can start a prayer book on the internet. With all the things out there I pray we find a way.
YAY OUR GIFT FROM GOD AGAIN! RONALD COOKED YOUR BAKED CHICKEN & OH MY GOD DELICIOUS. GOD BLESS YOU SISTER BECKY & FAMILY IN JESUS NAME. WE ARE EATING SO GOOD NOW. YOU ARE A GOD SEND.
I haven't had that since I was a young child I'm 52 now thanks for the recipe thank you for all your videos and recipe's all so close to mommas cooking
Wow, I haven't seen this stuff since I was a young guy in Maine in the 1960s and going off to Episcopal church dinners and pot lucks. I loved it back then. Thanks for the memories and the recipe! I love watching your videos, they remind me of growing up in Maine which is kind of the hillbilly area in New England. You remind me so much of the church ladies I knew back then!
I'd love to try Ambrosia in America I love America. I remember watching Joyce Monroe in (Edward Scissorhands) making what I thought was coleslaw with Marshmallows . I didn't know it was Ambrosia a (fruit salad) until many many years later. LOL
You are so precious, Becky! Be blessed this upcoming Resurrection Sunday and every other day as well. My Mamaw used to bring Ambrosia at holidays. She died in 1992 and was sick quite awhile before that, so it’s been a very long time since I’ve had any. It’s a beautiful dish as well as tasty. 💜🙏🏻
This is so VERY good... WHY do we make it just for holidays??? Why not everyday eating at home??? My mother and I used to "batch", my dad worked away from home, so we were there on the farm by ourselves for a couple of months at a time. She would make this weekly and we had it nearly every night. We had a pecan orchard, so that helped. It is so very good... We ate a lot of cranberries in it around the fall and winter. Try this, yours looks so delicious and thanks for the great memories... God bless...
I used to put white grapes halved and banana slices , last minute , as well in mine... haven't made it in years though ... seeing your great recipe has inspired me to make it again.
Ambrosia. Haven't had that in a while. One of the things I love about your channel, inspiration! I look forward to your videos and I love when you talk about God. May God continue to bless you and your channel. Have a blessed Easter.
This a little similar to a salad my mom got from my aunt mary. Hers takes fruit cocktail, crushed pineapple red grapes cream cheese. Whipping cream and mini marshmallows and maraschino cherries.
Thank you ... this was at lots of summer get together ... my grandmother brought it... thank you so much she left us to be with the Lord 15 years ago. You are a blessing to us also. Happy Holy Week loves and hugs from us in Maine!
amen ! Looking forward to Easter and the focus of our loving Savior Jesus Christ ! Thank you my husband and I have enjoyed many of your recipes !! God bless you and your ministry
Deacon wife lady here again it has been a while since I commented but still see and love every video you make. Amen the bible says 1 John 4:18 KJV There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
Wow so different. Mine is 1 bag of mini marshmallows, 2 cans mandarin oranges, 1 can crushed pineapple, 16 oz sour cream. Mix up the night before and chill. We used to make it with coconut but I'm allergic to it now so we leave it out. I'm going to try adding cherries and pecans! God bless
I learned about Ambrosia when I was a kid from my Aunt Janet. She always made homemade cheesecake and ambrosia with Christmas dinner. I often made ambrosia for office parties and such. It was a big hit. I never added nuts and didn't even think to use whipped cream to help sweeten the salad. I did use the juice leftover from the fruits mixed together sweeten this lovely dessert. I love your channel ❤ Best wishes to you and your family this upcoming holiday and always be safe and well 🙂❤🌺🌹🌻🌟☮🐥🐰
Ambrosia.. always a Family favorite. Yum. Haven't made it in years. My Aunt Nina made a Pistachio pudding, whipped cream & chopped pistachios & mini marshmallows. It was pastel green & scrumptious. GOD BLESS YOU Becky & your Family. 💖🕊️🙏😊 Much Love.
My mother made a variation of this but it was called glorified rice. Used canned fruit cocktail, marshmallows, cooked rice and homemade whipped cream. No cool whip with my mom! I still make it and my kids enjoy it like we did. I also really enjoyed your"Preacher's Cake" recipe. It was the only cake my mother ever made. She called it "boiled spice cake." She lived thru the entire Great Depression. When she died in 2009, we lost her recipe book. Your recipe for that cake was exactly as she made it and I made sure to share that video of yours with my brothers and kids.
This is one of my 5 cup salads. 1 cup each : Mandarin orange's Crushed pineapple Coconut flakes Mini marshmallows Sour cream Cherries & nuts optional ( I dont use) Triple or quadruple as you wish, it's so good you'll want plenty . Adjust the ingredients to taste. The next days it might seem kinda worn out (😆) so just refresh w/ more marshmallow.... ENJOY ! HAPPY EASTER & GOD BLESS US ALL !!!
I haven't had this in a long time. I had forgotten about this. My mother used to make it. She's been gone 10 years. Thank you for reminding me of this.
I just received your first cookbook, Becky. It is so easy to read and is so well laid out. I'm so eager to start using it! Congratulations to you. Looking forward to Easter--He is risen!

Oh, my, I love ambrosia! I haven’t made it in a long time, but after watching this, am going to make it very soon. I do add halved green grapes to mine, because my family likes it.
Becky- you are the Light to my day. God has given you a special gift... besides sharing recipes. Keep up the great job. My mother-in- law used to make this recipe on holidays. I miss her making this recipe. She’s now in an assistant living with dementia. Glad you had a recipe just like how she use to make it. Thanks for sharing your recipes and the Lord!
I just made it! Its currently chilling in the refrigerator, kids are excited to have for Easter desert. It looks wonderful, thank you for the recipe. HAPPY EASTER to the Hillbilly Kitchen!
This or some form of appears often at holidays and special times in our family. Enjoyed the video. Always like to see your smiling face and your calming personality. Looking forward to doing a little baking this week for Easter. Thanks again and God bless
At every church function, in every meeting, and family gathering, there's always Ambrosia. I enjoy it very much. Although I have to say. As I get older, I find that it's a little too sweet for my liking. So I like to try to cut down on some of the sweetness. A little bit of mayonnaise in their helps to do that. And makes it extra creamy too.
