What an awesome performance.

It was like he was sticking it to any haters who may have before doubted that those who sing mainly country don't have incredible chops....or lungs. Hell, I'm a singer & a marathoner & I've never been able to hold a power note 3/4 as long!

I was at work and the t.v's at the bar, and surround had the Grammys blasting all night.My over the top flamboyantly gay manager loves all awards shows and does this for every one, even non music shows,like Oscars. Anyway, I usually just grin and bear it,and do my job. But this song just caught me totally off guard.The sound, the lyrics..I literally stopped what I was doing and went back in time to my time with one ex in particular, who I haven't even thought of in quite a while. I was with her again for a minute and by the end of the song and that final note, I literally had to get off the floor and go out back, cuz I had tears in my eyes. Like tears streaming down my face.lol. I had to comp drinks cuz I had to just chill out back and recalibrate.Then splash water on my face,etc. It is just one of those songs that grabbed hold of me and took me back to very specific memories and times. And it's not like I even considered reaching out to my ex or calling her. Us being together didn't work. But, just being back in those moments because of this song, just for a minute or two was beautiful and bittersweet. It reminds you of something very special that you once had, just a perfect moment in time that you can both look back on in moments like these, and smile..and feel. Music is such a gift, that I often kinda'take for granted. But when it gets you, it can make you feel anything!
