This song means so much to me, because I relate to it almost 100%. " Iwas living in Breckinridge, (where this was filmed) acting at CEO for my grand fathers company. He had just passed away, and named me as CEO until they found someone else to take my place. I was 22, and I had no clue what I was doing. I flew out there, and purchased a cabin using some of my inheritance money. I traveled through Breckenridge that same day, driving through dirty snow and dead grass. I came into a bar, and met a beautiful blonds girl. Lauren. Although she wasn't deaf. I ordered a tequila, and so did she. We hit it off well, and we related on almost every subject that we spoke of. We ended up going on a few dates. I fell in love with her. She moved into my cabin with me, and we had separate rooms at first, but that later changed. At one point, we fell into an argument, and she exclaimed that I paid more attention to work than to her. (About four months had passed since I first there.) I told her she knew how much the company meant to me, which by this time I had decided to run it permanently. She didn't see the importance of my grand fathers company. I worked my butt off everyday to ensure the future of it. But unfortunately, she thought work was mote important than her. Let me step back two months. One night, it was cold, snowing. I broke out the tequila just as the clock hit 11 at night. We sipped our tequila, and I sat in my chair, and just stared at her. Her beauty, her eyes, her hair, her Oklahoma Sooners jersey. She looked amazing sitting there, and I knew it wasn't the alcohol making me stare at her. We spoke softly to each other, very tender. That's the night that concreted my love for her. To what I was saying earlier; She talked a lot about how she thought I loved work more than her. Another two months passed, and finally I broke. I told her I was leaving. I couldn't take it. Then I was too dumb to open my eyes to true love in front of me.. Right there. So, I left. I left her the cabin, and I purchased another one on the other side of Breckenridge. 3 years passed. I hasn't seen her, but I didn't forget about her. I sat one night, realizing how alone I was. I stepped out into the snow, and the cold gripped me tight. The cold even brought back memories. I decided I wanted tequila. It had been three years since I last had tequila. I drove to the all night bar, depressed. I missed her like crazy. I chose work over her, my Lauren. I sat down at the bar, and asked for tequila. A hand gently landed on my right hand. I slowly looked up, and there, in front of me, was Lauren. The love of my life. I chuckled, and she smiled, then I broke down. She cried with me. She poured me a glass of tequila, and first sip was all those first memories, and that night I remembered so well, the same night I knew I loved her, but was too blind to know the full extent. We ended up back together. Married. Going on two years now. We have one kid, Jessica. She was born December 11th, the same day me and Lauren met. Kids, life is complicated. Being rich isn't the most important thing in the world." With the one you love by your side, you are already the richest person in the world.
I love the song and video equally! I love the actors they chose for this particular video. It is amazing that a scent,a smell,a drink, food and a house can bring you back to a particular memory.
Good old Colorado. Looks like a typical CO day-hiking in the snow and going to some random mountain town to get a drink or two after an exhausting excursion. I love the visuals-captures the Colorado life for sure!

He played in a another show called Switched at Birth. But you wait a long time to see him. Ps :) It's about how these girls got Switched at birth. And its all deaf people only like 8 hearing people. It has a lot of drama and love
Tears rolling, heart beaming... I'm loving this so much. Wish there we're more people who knew Sign..... May people learn sign and open the world up even more to the deaf and hard of hearing. :)
This song gets my every time. Reminds me of my ex husband.. no matter the bad there were many good and this songs got home for me everything. We always had a signature drink and he'd have it waiting for me on me bad days after work.. 3 years later, still hits hard.
I am Italian, and I'm an English teacher. I used this song together with the video for a learning activity based on speaking and with a focus on pronunciation.. needless saying my student absolutely loved it 🌞
I found this song accidentally on Spotify and fell in love right away a couple months ago. When they sang it at the Grammys, I sang it too like a crazy girl. Now I just found the video and the story is perfect. I love how they potrayed and visualized it well. The song is perfect too. Hope to hear more from this duo
I wish everyone could understand the things being said in their argument. If you know sign language the things shared during that conversation make the song even deeper. She says it's not fair and asks him to tell her why he is scared. He replies that she doesn't know what has happened (in his life) up to now.
Tell and answer used to be two different signs. Tell can be declarative or can interrogatory. Answer me me is interrogatory. It also depends on local areas just like any language with it's different localities. Watch the Chinese Deaf Dancing Troupe that danced during the Olympics. You find that they are using either ASLor a version similar to the US
I love this song and when I first saw this video it made me want to cry because it had a great ending and they met up again!! Favorite song EVER!!😄😄 The 6 minutes of this video was worth the watch. Thank you Dan and Shay great song!!👍👍
Because of him, she makes an effort to learn sign language so she can speak to him every day and when he's gone, she then asks for the bartender job and works at the same bar where they had good times together just to wait for the day he comes back to her again. 4 years later, she still recognizes the man she loved. 4 years of waiting seems hurtful but it's worth the wait. All I can say is that this persistent love is as solid as the fragrance of tequila.
As someone who prefers very heavy hardcore music. This is perfect, and never fails to bring a tear to my eyes as i listen over and over. This is my moms favorite song, so singing it with her compared to my usual of Knocked Loose, ETID or TAS. Always makes her happy, maybe its the fact i love good country along side 'demon music' of my usual but damn, this song is such a banger, plus being a colorado county born kid doesn't hurt.
as mexican🇲🇽🇲🇽 let me tell you that I never listen to such a romantic song that talks about tequila🤣 all of them are always about partying and drunk🤣 thank you is beautiful
Never tire of this…love to listen on repeat while watching the sun set behind beautiful Longs Peak Mountain, from the peace and comfort of my backyard....sigh. Much Love...from Colorado!
There are football leagues for deaf people where a big drum is used in place of a whistle. That is where the football huddle first started, to hide what they were signing to each other on the team.
I'm just now discovering these 2 brilliant men and I wished I found them sooner! This song and the story in the video that goes along with it makes me want to know more about them! I'm a fan now for sure!! 💗💗💗

It’s haunting. How many of you have turned right when you should have turned left? It comes back around later in life. Hmm. I think that’s why so many find this song intriguing.

I can't imagine having to live in total silence not being able to hear a baby cry wristle of the wind someone telling you they love you for the first time even this beautiful song.... touching...
Yeah, or hear a bear or mountain lion running up behind you when your out hiking alone like in this video. Guess this guy never heard the expression, 'keep your head on a swivel', otherwise he would've seen these girls coming instead of allowing himself to be being surprised by them.
No matter what happens.... This will forever remind me of the good time me and my Lady Kakes had in El Paso Texas in April of 2021.... Magical place...

I don’t know if my ex will ever realise how important he was to me. Or how much i loved him. He let me slip away. I hope by the time he realises it won’t be too late.
I'm from the UK and my co worker had smooth country radio station on at work, and this came on, and it's been stuck in my head all day. Sang with the heart this one. Much love from England.

Would listen to this when I was drinking thinking about a lost love. Now years later I'm stone cold sober and I just heard this song and it still hits me the same. The only difference is now I can't drink to numb it away. Still bri gs back memories 😮💨😔
Love this song! It's the partial inspiration for my book that I am writing called The Sound of Love. Thanks Dan and Shay for this song, it tugged on the heart strings!
I'm moved by this beautiful gesture that only persons who are deaf know best. I hope there's a version that has the song in sign language too, asking too much maybe but that'd be pretty cool
I’m usually a Mopar guy, but just about every truck from like 1990 and earlier looks pretty good. Especially the stuff the companies are passing off as trucks these days.
This is still to this day one of my favorite songs. So beautifully written and sung and the music video is perfect. I agree that this should become a movie.
watching this after Stagecoach festival, because its portion was in the a DJ mixed session, it was so f good, LOVE IT!!! that's why I listen it again here

Nyle is a very talented guy. He shows that we can't let the disability define our road, use it as an opportunity, open the new door. We are special and we are capable of everything. Keep it up. I love your job.
Had a romance with someone that lived in CO. It was one of those “you know this relationship is bad for you but can’t see straight or think about anything else” romances. I flew there (for the first time!) to go see him. Just a weekend. After that our relationship gotten more toxic. I wanted more and he was indecisive and really screwed up from serving time in the Marines. I’ve never felt so... controlled over this newfound romance ever. Learned so much and now I am happily married and in a healthy relationship. CO forever holds a place in my heart, the aesthetics are so surreal and the beauty of that place is mind blowing.
wow..coming across your comment.. I'm on the east coast and the person swore "baby, I'll never leave ya"... is in CO. I was so willing ,giving,forgiving..to hold on to him and help him rebuild himself ..as a team. He chose his life of drugs and blaming, and pushed me away.. I have no hate in my heart for him.. I choose to remember the real him and what we had....but*I cannot deal with "sky high in Colorado"... the thought or images...i was high, on love and all the hope that it brought...i just wasn't enough of a high at the time. this song makes me smile/cry at the same time... the bittersweet is real.. I wont let bitter overshadow though...
Really liked the song when I heard it on the radio here in the UK so Googled it. Found this video which really impressed me. Stunning scenery and moving story. After getting married my wife and I decided to have holidays before children came along. After sorting out my wifes papers (long story short she was a runnaway Filipina that I met at a party here) we first visited her home country, and when still no children booked another fly drive holiday to Alaska which at the last minute they told us had been overbooked, would we like to choose another. We did, called Rocky Mountain Explorer which was brilliant. It started in Denver Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming again, Utah and back to Denver. Have since travelled Alaska and the Yukon with our children but don't think its as beautiful as this, we both want to revisit. Now I know a location to visit!
That’s terrific! I have wondered if this track was released in the UK 🇬🇧 and if it was at all popular across the pond. I’m happy you’ve been to visit the mountain west on holiday. I’m certain I’ve taken the scenery for granted growing up in southern Utah and later, settling in Arizona. I would love to visit the UK 🇬🇧 in the coming years. Cheers!
@@trooperbaileybear Nice to hear from you, look us up if you come. Norfolk is not the most stunning part of the UK, but it is pretty and has some really nice coast. I would have to say the lake district or the west coast of Scotland (also the wettest!) are the most dramatic. However, since COVID everybody is trying to buy houses here and a few film stars have homes here so that must say something. A couple of weeks ago the village of Brancaster was the most expensive place to buy in the country.

This song is so underrated and it brings back nostalgic feelings 😥💙.
I hope the success of this song offers generational wealth to Dan + Shay’s children’s grandchildren. It’s that damn good. Thanks guys!
I found this song accidentally on Spotify and fell in love right away a couple months ago. When they sang it at the Grammys, I sang it too like a crazy girl. I wish everyone could understand the things being said in their argument. If you know sign language the things shared during that conversation make the song even deeper. She says it's not fair and asks him to tell her why he is scared. He replies that she doesn't know what has happened (in his life) up to now.

Today is the first time I’ve ever heard this song.
This song always makes me cry ;( Just really tugs my heart strings...
Fuck that guy, good for you for speaking your heart
Always makes her happy, maybe its the fact i love good country along side 'demon music' of my usual but damn, this song is such a banger, plus being a colorado county born kid doesn't hurt.

when I tast teiqal baby i still see you
I can still shut down a party
I can hang with anybody
I can drink whiskey and red wine
Champagne all night
Little Scotch on the rocks and I'm fine, I'm fine
But when I taste tequila, baby I still see ya
Cutting up the floor in a sorority t-shirt
The same one you wore when we were
Sky high in Colorado, your lips pressed against the bottle
Swearing on a bible, baby, I'd never leave ya
I remember how bad I need ya, when I taste Tequila
When I taste Tequila
I can kiss somebody brand new
And not even think about you
I can show up to the same bar
Hear the same songs in my car
Baby, your memory, it only hits me this hard
When I taste Tequila, baby I still see ya
Cutting up the floor in a sorority t-shirt
The same one you wore when we were
Sky high in Colorado, your lips pressed against the bottle
Swearing on a bible, baby, I'd never leave ya
I remember how bad I need ya, when I taste Tequila
When I taste Tequila
I ain't even drunk, I ain't even drunk
And I'm thinking
How I need your love, how I need your love
Yeah, it sinks in
When I taste Tequila, baby I still see ya

This video and song are just simply beautiful
