This for me is the best Bruce Lee movie. I'm glad this came out
I know your 29-minute cut is a passion project, but you should seriously consider applying the upscaling to Lee's 34-minute cut for its historical value. It could be _The Game of Death Redux 2.0 Extended._
For years I’ve wanted someone to add the music from the ‘78 version and the new voice overs of Dan Inosanto and Kareem to a version without the annoying sound effects taken from enter the Dragon. They needed to use the war cries from the ‘78 version, not war cries taken from ETD.
wow, they really used fighting sounds from Game of Death 78 for Bruce's character? Even Warrior's Journey and Bruce Lee in G.O.D. dubbed fighting sounds done by Lee from his other films. Weird.

That's what i'm saying. With today's tech, just redo the scenes that they needed Bruce in with Deefake and some other stuff. Might as well.
@@HardCold-Alquan I have a feeling that if they did do that, the films quality would be that of a video game cutscene, and besides if they did deepfake Bruce Lee, and the other original actors, there’s no telling how accurate the deep fake would be.

As someone else commented already, using those terrible fake 1978 Bruce cries and sounds??? Only he can do those. Nobody can do them like he does so they stand out really badly here…

I can already tell by this trailer, that the bruce lee catcall dubs are going to be terrible, they sound nothing like bruce lee's original catcalls from previous films, thats why in several cuts of game of death, bruce lees cat calls we're taken from other bruce lee movies, because they sounded accurate to the ones that would be in this movie. Personally I'm gonna stick with "Warriors Journey Remastered". Because it doesn't feel like the 78 film, which is in no way is the intention of bruce lee.
Yeah I agree "Warriors Journey Remastered" is the definitive game of death movie for me.

Honestly, the re-dub to me just sounds terrible, as if they changed the entire actor. He does NOT sound like Bruce Lee anymore.
The intensity, the feeling, the power and fluidity, it's gone and instead sounds monotonous.

I'm gonna stick to Redux 1.0, or at least mix the sound from 1.0 with the "enhanced" image of 2.0.
In surround sound - I prefer mono if the film was recorded in mono! Center channel speakers work well!

Finally got to see this after wasting money on the boxset. Absolute shit. The only positive is the use of John Barry’s soundtrack. He mixed the shit sound affects they use throughout different versions of Bruce’s movie that are hijacked from Enter the dragon. In enter the dragon they are brilliant, but when you have the Great War cries made for the 1978 version, there’s no need to add affects from other movies that don’t match the way his mouth is moving. At one point when Bruce does a flying kick on Kareem they use the sound effect of Bruce side-kicking Bob Wall in ETD and didn’t even bother removing the sound of the crowd saying woah after the kick landed. At times the cuts are held too long, actors hold looks longer than needed until cut is said, but you don’t keep all of those long stares in, an example of this is Dan Inosanto talking about not going near the staircase and pointing at it, not great acting but to reduce the bad acting you cut it immediately after he finishes his line, don’t keep the footage in of him still standing like a twat pointing at the stairs waiting for Bruce to call cut. They also cut some of Kareem’s lines. They could’ve improved how his eyes look cos the purple drawn on crap is laughable. And the last thing that annoyed me was Ji Han Jae’s voice dubbing. Instead of using the version of the actual actor doing his voice they used an awful American dub. What was wrong with his real voice that was filmed years later I think for the John Little version? I hope the 2.0 version corrects all of these parts. Then it truly will be the best version out there.
2.0 is much MUCH better. The audio mishaps that you saw in the Criterion edition was a result of super tight deadlines.
@@cityonfirevideo why release it if its not complete? And I take it they haven't added Kareem's lines back in or sorted out the long cuts that need shaving off such as the Dan Inosanto stair case part I mentioned? And he hasn't gotten rid of the ETD war cries?

They should just leave Bruce alone full stop. The constant exploitation of him under the disguise of being fans is bs, it's nothing but money grabbing exploitation. Bruce would be turning in his grave now, he never wanted to be exploited like this.
