Hi Dan, Another funny video with f's and bo//@# everywhere 😂😂😂. I'm not sure about that egger board stuff, looks like somit you would slip and break you're bo//@# on😂😂, but time will tell, if it doesn't work out, you can sheet over it with quarter inch ply, also get plenty of vents along the front bottom of the loft and same at the top of the back, fresh air in, and stale air out the back. A little tip about ringing, use a feather or small nail and leave it 2 hand in the loft, helps get the back toe out with ease especially if u have 1 that should have being done a day or 2 before. Really looking forward to news of new baby's on the way and to see what perches you choose and how many in each section
@@howtotrainyourpigeon what I'm worried about is the droppings dry'n out on that surface, the grills are great, plastic or wooden, keeps you and the birds off the droppings, but they still need 2 dry. If u cut that over lap for vents properly and it's fixed either end you can open 3 or 4 up and stick a wedge in-between each one to let air in when you want 2, and cover it on the outside with a dark sheet/material and tack it to a long dowel or bamboo stick, and hang it on a hook at either end, enough to cover the vent for the darkness but allow fresh air in, tack it above the top vent and get your Mrs to open it up at a chosen time, and close it down at you're chosen time to darken the loft every afternoon/ evening, when I worked my dad did it for me, and the same at the back also, just means they don't have 2 go into the loft, you could do the same with you're perspex also DAN
Thanks. Yeah I'm trying to make what I would want to watch myself. It takes a lot of time and effort and when I watch it back I see all sorts of errors that I didn't spot at the time, but filming is secondary to the enjoyment of the sport I guess so I'll have to live with it 😁
Great video again very funny but very true when your under the weather can't wait to see the loft finished try using a match stick to pull the back claw through
I have one but for only 3 cuts I decided to use the hand saw. As it happens I had to run it circular saw around the edges the next day anyway because I forgot to cut off the tongue 😬
Your doing a fantastic job. As a novice in your first year you got some very good results that only comes from hard work and dedication Keeping pigeons no matter how long we are in them we will never know enough about them all we can do is enjoy the journey it takes us on by meeting new friends . Your video's are excellent and I applaud your efforts. Keep up the great work. And thank you for your video's .👍
Shed looks good, keep the kids interested and remember that bringing birds in from different lofts may cause problems, when you've got them altogether treat them for canker plus anything that feeds milk to their young are prone to getting worms. All the best
Use a toothpick and some wd40 to get those rings on. When the chicks are to small the parents tend to pull the rings of and toss them around the loft. Make sure to check the rings every day the first few days. Great episode
Have you started using iodine in the birds water it does wonders for your birds when Breeding keeps there feathers good condition, and seems to give them clear sparkling eyes And do a more concentrate mix put in garden sprayer pump type and do the full Loft in All the hard to reach places that might build up with germs when they are out keeps germs right down and sickness hope this helps you 👍
Hi MATE ONE OF THE LADS I KNOW WENT down to the local council about that thick 7mm reinforced clear plastic they use in bus shelters seen the Lads think you no what am saying 😉 it's brilliant even if it's broken just cut with grinder to cover full Loft hope this helps you worth a ask 👍
Loft is coming on great. I’d go for one long aviary split in two with traps above. But just do what you think is best for you. Looking forward to the next video.
Excellent video mate, enjoy your humour, but also great to see how you are embracing your new hobby and all the effort you are putting in! The camera shots you are getting are terrific, and editing is fantastic too. Do you have any background in video creation or have you learnt it all from scratch doing these videos?
Hay mate I grew up with race birds now I am in my next stage of life I'm in the next few weeks building my own new loft and start the process of racing racing again thanks for the reminder of the pain in the ass that it is to build the lift but. I'm really looking forward to starting up again I really appreciate your interest and your videos it helps me out with remembering all that goes into it all keep your videos comen from Australia thanks again mate Aneurin Goff yes I'm Harf a Welshman yes the name sorts of gives it away
Brilliant as always.....might haven taken you 3 hours to do the trip in the car but the footage was awesome! I'm guessing some of them are drone shots?? Love the comedy element as well 🤣 The loft is looking great, can't wait for the next update.
Just need turn the other loft round to join up to the new one now your job for next winter lol box perches I found better as you can play with them and they can't get away as easy as v perches
Ps put a longer and deeper Landing board will help when there coming in fast save them circling around and think about putting a big capital letter on the roof in something that can be seen at distance hope you have cut the trees 🌳 😉
For got to mention mate in one of your videos you said that you couldn't tell if the bird was a hen or cock they way I was taught in the 80s was the hen head will be slightly flat on top cock bird more round try it with the bird in hand run your finger over the head hope this helps you for separating the young birds faster
Good job. Thanks for sharing Happy 2023 ! Cheers !
Hi from D.Ks pigeon lofts, I use a toothpick, take the sharp end off with wire cutters use the pick to pull the third foot though.?
New loft looking good,

I've got grates to go over the floor. I'll give them a try. Otherwise it'll be a bit of kiln dried sand to help with grip 👍

Brilliant that fair play, I'm sure your hard work will pay off, hope you have another successful season 👍
Use (no nails) construction adhesive, very small Bead, not pva/ white wood glue.

That’s looking cool 👍🎉🔨🍺💥
Turned out very good!

Very good loft, congratulations.

AWESOME............... Building loft is the best thing which we can do / experience. Hopefully you will rock in future races. Good Luck.

Thanks. Yeah H&S executive might frown upon it 😁

Great episode
You know I did think it was the parents pulling them off
@@howtotrainyourpigeon You may be banding them too early if they are falling off?
@@NE_Pigeons definitely, but it's okay. I didn't want to leave it too late so it's all a learning curve 👍
Good one Dan nice one.
Alright you build it :)
Thanks for an entertaining video; your editing skills are impressive. The loft looks great.
Cheers 👍

Nice work my friend! I went through the same mental struggles two years ago: build or buy? Really glad I built it. Yours is shaping up nicely!!
Hard to justify buying one if you're able to build one I guess. Spend the savings on Pigeons 😁

Yeah drone got a bit of use. Had to rope in a mate to help with filming this one 😁
@@howtotrainyourpigeon ...and there's me thinking it was the wife 😉🤣
Keep a eye on the chicks as sometimes the rings can fall off
Yep finding that out every day 😁
Little tip, if your a bit late putting the ring on and the chick is a little too big, a little touch of WD40 and it goes on no bother.
Wd40 on pigeons that'll be a first for me 😁
@@howtotrainyourpigeonI just use a toothpick to get the back toe through the ring and it works much easier
