The clan ranking/clan representation topic is honestly such a good fucking idea, especially for all those social reasons you listed I do hope one of the future RTS implements that honestly
Uh that is an awesome take about sc2 being a very isolated experience. I had the exact same feeling and it is crazy that it even felt that way for a gm level player… yeah I guess if you don’t happen to have some nerd friends who are also into rts and even the same rts you are playing it’s gonna be this way… and the joint probability of all of this becomes very low it feels like 😅 it’s not 25 years ago where everyone was playing the same 3 multiplayer games and 1 or then was an rts. I think it is an awesome point you are making about the plat player who has to have some purpose logging in that is not „let’s get my few shitty noob games over with before I jump over to UA-cam to watch pros play ‚the real game‘“
I 100% agree, i feel like theses features are added in afterwards has an after thought and they don't care that much about them. (talking about social, chat, clan wars, team leagues and tournements). My favorite experience in sc2 was playing has part of a team/clan and havign clan wars or clan leagues every week and you have player cheering you on and talking about biulds with you... it's still 1v1 at the end of the day but that changes your experience, completly. I hope The devs of thoses new RTS hear Vibe feedback cause he makes a really good point.
I love battle aces. It's a very well designed game with a focused goal of what it wants to be. It makes stormgate look so confused in comparison. I'm definitely on team Battle Aces for the future, it's a game that I know i will just pick up and play if i have 20-30 mins free, where other games I enjoy like StarCraft BW and WoW Classic I can only play when i have 2-3 hours free.
I had so much fun in the beta. I love the time clock and the focus on micro. One thing i think would be cool is in ranked 1v1, a best of 3, and between each game players can edit their deck and ban one unit per game. Just my opinion.
Mechabellum is great, such a simple but effective tournament system to give you that little bit of community. It's automated, low overhead, not hardcore, yet people care about it and you get a little badge next to your name until the next tournament to brag about if you get a good result. And they had mini touronaments more frequently and weekly tourneys that have a bit more 'prestige'. A good balance. And there's enough people that you don't feel like you're fighting the same people every time but few enough that you do get to know some of your opponents over a few matchups. I gotta start playing again :)
It seems like everyone has been going for Swiss army knife, and Battle Aces was just like "what if we just did one aspect of RTS really well?" I don't know if it will work, but it's a bold move that makes a lot of sense.
@@しらこ-465 yeah, i didnt watch casts closely enough to actually say, but it doesnt seem like the game is good for competitive play, even though some casters seem to be pushing for it a lot.
That's an interesting take to me, as I felt the opposite after 52 hours of game time and I just want way more, even after after attaining top ace. The quicker optimized game format made for a more satisfying improvement of my game play that made it addictive to keep trying to improve and seeing results. The learning cycle was much quicker, that If I was determined to fix in flaws in my play, In 4 hours I could spam out like 40+ matches and really evolve my play style developing optimizing multiple decks in real time to counter multiple kinds of threats. That would take a week of solid testing and practice in other RTS games or even longer. Also, the deck building system allowed the game to not feel completely solved. There would be a changing meta but with occasional opponents always trying off meta deck ideas, it would keep things fresh enough, at least for me. A part of me think that if you where to seriously grind out a few hours to see your assumption was correct, your opinion may change after being more hands on, but hard to say as maybe my positive experience I had would not necessarily be replicated for everyone.
@@Driuxthat short and focussed feedback loop sounds awesome to me. Exactly for the reason that „a week of solid testing“ sounds very silly (because wholly unrealistic) for many of us who have a career, family and work out few times a week (like, actual physical workouts not build order grinding)
It's fun in short bursts, but micro wars is a pretty hardcore game mode. I'd probably pay $15 or $20 for it, but if they expect constant buying new units to be able to have a competitive deck I'm out.
its fun but its very very shallow. i was very bored at the end of my couple like hour long sessions...the game is literally 2 factors deep; the dice roll of your deck vs theres and then who micros better...fun little arcade game to hop into for a half hour here and there but i dont think a lot of people are gunna buy this period and certainly not for over like 15 bucks.
These r great ideas but....The problem is there wont ever be a decent sized community in Battle Aces StormGate or Zerospace because as much as Content Creators want to hand-waive it off. People care about Concept Art and they dont want to play a game that makes them feel childish or silly for playing.

Battle aces is definitely a lot of fun! I am also very impressed with immortal gates of pyer

"If you not pro u are irrelivant" artosis mentality
Harsh, but fair.

I'm definitely a lot more optimistic about it than stormgate, I had a lot of fun during the test
I wish stormgate would look visually as good as battle aces...
it looked fun but also like i would get bored after 10 hours. Which is fine but its not great in terms of longevitiy.
I also don't see how 1 race decks turns into anything but either rock-paper-scissors or mirror matchups in the long run.

vibuuu 😊 Does Battle Aces feel play2win at all with the way units are locked?
LMFAO
Hope they listen the part about purpose

What about Age of Mythology?
I would love that topic.
