@@mikeschaner5853 Dowg, are you carrying around lead plates in your q70? That car weighs at least 1000lbs less than youre claiming. Its around a 2 ton vehicle varying by trim level and options. Theres no way its even 1000 lbs more than any modern era accord.
I own both of those cars. It’s super hard to get traction in the 56s from a start not to mention it’s super heavy but the top end on the m56 will take my 2.0t. Also Nissan put everything possible to keep the luxury driver on the road from fishing tailing thanks to all the bad g37 drivers of that generation.😢 The m56s is the same engine as the Titian just there was like zero aftermarket support for that model.

Infiniti driver on the third race tried manually shifting when he was better off letting the transmission do the shifting for him. Second race was a perfect race between the two and expected outcome as compared to race 1 and race 3.

I agree. In a perfect flat world with no governing agencies an 1/8 mile track doesn't make sense. In reality, by the time governing agencies, environmental concerns, noise pollution, design distance and geography.. all you're left is an 1/8 mile. Better than nothing
Honda is the master of power to weight ratio, the confusing part is how in the world did a sedan that was not a muscle car which is very heavy and very comparable to a Honda Accord with a bigger motor being a V8 lose so bad?
It's not about horsepower but about the engine configuration and torque, I will give u an example, military tank has 1500 HP, cylinder size 500MM but the engine torque was comparable to turtle speed. Another example, motorcycle has very little horsepower number like range from 20 to 150 something like that and the size of cylinder is 12 MM but the engine torque is extreme so it's not abt horsepower.
@@cordinate81 well I get that part, but I'm looking at these 2 specifically, SSD's Accord has a small turbo, with vtec, the infinite had a V8. The weight of both cars I'm assuming is the same, and the v8 being a V8, I'm assuming it would be faster in the infinite than even a mustang because it's less weight, unless the V8 is just less powerful than the mustang. Either that, or the Accord weighs way less than the infinite.
@@senormrzone The difference between Accord and Infiniti here is close to 700lb so that's huge. Infiniti carries tons of unnecessary weight that contribute to the speed reaction, doesn't matter it has V8, Accord is very light and that's the difference.

Pretty sure that m56 is a RWD with an open diff, all that power and it has to cut it to keep traction or it'll burn tires all the way down, that Accord is surpsingly good at hooking up smoothly which is why it seems to always blow the doors off of everything else
Even an M37x has a better 1/8 time. A stock M56 can do mid 8s easily. I seen them around around the 13s quarter mile mark. Don't know what's the issue here.
My mom has a m37x and I've timed its 0-60 1/8 1/4 etc and the best I've got on a preped surface was 8.9 and that was 1/4 a tank of gas a with sport more auto shifting
The driver of the infiniti was driving it like a bitch, I have a M56 my girl has a 2.0T and truthfully the infiniti is so much faster and handles better
Yeah, even in the older Ms, it's faster if you just let it do its thing. it lets the car rev out to redline so you don't really need the paddles unless you wanna downshift aggressively.
That Infinity is most likely a MT. Once again... The equipment is only as good as the driver... Especially on a MT. 1st and 3rd race both missed gears. I love my Accord 2.0T, but I'm also realistic about it haha Good runs though

@@Boost_ej1 DS is drive sport and it stays in auto but let's it shift at redline . I hate using that manual shifter . Regular drive shifts too early but you probably knew that .
@@Boost_ej1 have you ever put it in DS mode and not use paddles ? It has a more aggresive shift in auto DS . There is regular auto , DS auto , and then DS paddle shift which is the worst of the 3 . DS auto being best of the 3 .

Many guys are running high 12's stock in absolutely perfect conditions. Tuned versions are low to mid 12's. Def not bad for a 4k lb lux car.

The 7 speed in the M56s/Q70s works best when left alone and in sports mode. I used to own the Q50s 3.7. However, it's definitely not a Honda 10 speed.
