Ya idk about climate change. I remember a few scientists that talk about the 89 year global warming cycle. Did you know Kansas got to 115 degrees during the Great Depression when the 89 year weather cycle hit? Kansas got as hot as Las Vegas or Phoenix. No wonder we had a dust bowl. They blamed it on farmers tilling in school I remember. It’s true farmers could change their methods or not till and just grow grass but the heartland has very little actual irrigation. In the west like Utah everyone has pivots haha. Like if there’s little water or if the jet stream in the atmosphere changes while temperatures go super high fields aren’t going to grow unless if you’re by large rivers or lakes. It’s interesting Indiana doesn’t care about conservation. I remember the story cause how shocking it was. I dislike mitt Romney but when a senator from Indiana said we need more wilderness in Utah right after they already pushed a huge wilderness area limiting access and banning everything but hiking and some simple things, mitt Romney told the Indiana senator ya if wilderness is so important I think we should make the 75000 of public land in Indiana turned into wilderness. The Indiana politician didn’t push for wilderness in Utah after he was threatened with wilderness in his own state. It’s shameful and shocking how politicians treat states if you live east of Colorado where 5% of public land is or if you’re in a state Colorado and westward where there’s 95% of public land. If conservation is so important which I think it is we should push for equality and make public land equally divided into all states with massive parks and monuments in all states. They keep pushing new monuments in Utah because land is sacred to native Americans they say, but that’s a total irrelevant argument. There’s sacred land in Indiana and every state East of Utah that’s considered sacred by Native Americans that totally could be taken by the federal government and made into monuments cause the land is “sacred”. It’s disingenuous and manipulative to keep saying there’s sacred land in Utah that needs to be conserved when literally there’s sacred land in every state East of Colorado. It’s a huge lie they use to lock up the west while the eastern states continue to be developed and destroyed. I remember living in Delaware and new subdivisions were built in the middle of farms and even in forests. It was shocking cause only a few cities out west are built into forests but in Delaware it seemed common to see a stand of trees and roads and houses in the old forest. The government totally could make new parks and monuments to conserve areas before it’s literally all developed or at least before large unbroken areas are broken up bit by bit.
