- Constructs (IE spirit boxes and time banners) can be damaged by Melinoe

honestly, the surface path is much harder than the underworld path. the surface has fewer biomes, but comparatively, the city and the ship are much harder than Erebus and Oceanus. Polyphemus and Eris are also much harder than Hecate and Scylla. there are fewer healing opportunities (no Charon wells) and the enemies hit harder and seem to spawn more endlessly.
Fair enough🤷♂️ I suppose I just have a lot more practice with the surface compared to underworld -- new video coming out soon about that btw🤣
Btw you can give up when you see a viable start and get the exact same seed when you return, amazing run btw
Unfortunately not, the seed is only the same for the first room and the second reward - ie if the second room contains Zeus, it will continue to contain Zeus, though the boon he offers may be different. Anything after that is completely different in my experience!

only other toula thing id try is white antler crits? i doubt it lets toula crit tho
The fact that the reason Toula stops attacking is only because she loses attention and has to be re-riled up is a real "she's only using 1% of her power" situation. Neither Time nor Strife can stop a cat that has help staying focused.
Honestly, the surface stresses me more than the Underworld. The only times I've ever died to a non-Guardian is on the Surface, once while trying 32 Heat, once while attempting one of the Pitch-Black trials. I also find that Polyphemus is way harder than any of the non-Chronos Underworld bosses, and while Eris is easier than Chronos, it feels like she punishes mistakes more harshly (aside from Chronos's insta-kill).
In-game timer pausing: It wasn't during a Heracles or Icarus encounter, was it? They (like Nemesis and Artemis) will cause your timer to pause. You can actually use the in-game timer to tell when a room will turn out to be an Icarus room, because the timer will pause before he shows up.
Aphrodite Dash only run: Hm... the only obvious thing I can think of (besides taking advantage of Phoenix Skin as you do here) is trying to proc Origination? But I'm not sure that's possible...
Scorch, Vent and Blitz deal damage. Slip, Freeze and "Chill" (or whatever the debuff from Demeter's cyclone is called) can't be applied without dealing damage. Daze and Hitch require your Sprint slot to be applied without dealing damage. So yeah, I think you're out of luck there.
Hephaestus has defensive boons which could help, Aphrodite can make +HP pickups worth more, Poseidon can potentially Double Up your +HP pickups and poms... Demeter could potentially make your Dash boon Heroic if she hits it with Winter Harvest...
Charybdis still feels tough to me! I feel like I still struggle with the range/timing of the tentacle's attacks, as well as dodging the projectiles if I don't have Frinos or a strong enough -Enemy Projectile Speed effect (which is hilarious when it completely trivializes those projectiles).
Typhon is my best guess too, for the moment. The mother of all monsters seems like an appropriately powerful figure for Melinoe to confront. That would be wild too, if we had to fight Cerberus in one route and his mom in the other. The one thing that has me uncertain about it being Typhon is that Chronos mentions wanting to resurrect some of the other Titans, which might mean that it's another Titan who serves as the surface's final boss?
The other major clue we have is that it seems certain that defeating the Surface boss will drop Entropy, so a boss with a connection to Entropy would make sense. I'm less certain of this, but I wonder if defeating the Surface Boss will let us contact the Fates?
Great run! I hope when the full Surface is released, your attempt to Toula-only it goes well... I have to imagine it'll take a lot of patience, given how long everything else took... here's hoping there's nothing quite as bad as the Satyrs and their rat summoning!

For the in game timer, it does pause for special encounters but Ive also experienced it pausing during completely normal rooms with no encounters? May be something they have to fix.
The surface definitely took me longer to beat than Chronos, though nowadays I find it to be so much easier - at least easier than Tartarus and Chronos.
Yeaaaaah that dash only is going to be rough, I'll probably try to knock it out again this week.
I'm real excited for the surface to be finished, hopefully sometime this autumn. Typhon would be an amazing boss

Tbf, they consume magick. And Zeus and Poseidon don't trigger Hera's regen so you would need another regen for them (Hestia or Zeus most likely).
i feel like since we *know* she can beat the first two rooms and that the run is p much impossible without phoenix skin, skipping over them to see if the run was even viable seems like totally fair game to me. it was just a time saver since you were already restarting runs, I think it's valid

The in game timer pauses periodically during certain events. This includes loading screens, while in the presence of Charon, and while fighting rooms with other characters around, like Artemis, Heracles, or Icarus. If you want proper RTA you would need an external timer

Also when you defeat a guardian (Boss with healthbar) in the boss room after they are dead and in the fountain room afterwards. Note, this does not affect fountain rooms found in the middle of a region
