- welcome to my new zealand vlog ₊˚⊹♡ we rented a campervan and did a 10-day trip during may 2023 around the south island! not a professional vlogger at all but i wanted to share some of the fun stuff we did and maybe help you out with ideas if you ever want to visit!
just discovered this chanel; i'm travelling to south island next month and i can't wait! i absolutely love this video series and it's making me more excited to travel :)

Hi!! How are the roads? I’ve read it can be dangerous at times. I never drived in a campervan before so just curious! Thanks a lot😊
hi! It was also our first time driving a campervan, which i was nervous about... BUT! New Zealand (the places we went to) were pretty campervan friendly. Lots of spots to stop by the side of road, nice long relatively wide roads. There are some areas that were tighter and winding, but if you drive slowly, it's not a problem at all! Also, it helps if you schedule your itinerary so there's no driving past sunset.

hi! that's so exciting! and YES it definitely was. There was a portable heater connected to electricity or you have a gas heater so you have both options. We just used the portable heater and it was perfect!
Can you share your site for rental? I couldn’t find anything for less then $300 USD/ day in Feb for 2 people.

1. Plan your days well so that you won't be driving in the dark/past sunset.
2. Pick the highest insurance possible (if you can afford it).
3. Drive slow, take your time, respect the road rules and pull over.

Hey! We went for our trip mid-May :) Temp averaged around 10-15 degrees Celsius which we loved because it was cold enough to see some snow top the mountains but not too cold for outdoor activites and just enjoy the campervan. (Plus it’s a quieter travel season!)

@@jkml8855 Absolutely - we booked with maui Rentals NZ, we highly recommend them. We booked the highest insurance level and a 2+1 Berth Ultima Plus :) (from my memory).
So the reason you chose camper van because it's cheaper than staying at hotels?
Hi! Not really the main reason, we just wanted to experience a bit of campervan life and not have to go through the hassle of constantly booking accommodation :) It was easier to book powered campervan sights plus the views we got to wake up to were amazing!
How much is the rent for the van
Hi! It was around $2.4k AUD for a 3-person campervan, 11 days, and the highest level of insurance. Not including what we spent on fuel! Hope this helps!
