The second half of the "Evil Within" DLC was released today. We pick up right where we left off in "The Assignment." Kidman is the main star again, and the majority of the gameplay is in stealth as it was in "The Assignment." We learn a lot more about Kidman's past and her purpose in the main story. The DLC is expertly interwoven with the main story, and it'll be fun to piece together the "Complete Edition" of the Evil Within to see how everything ties together. Ready for some scares? We hope you enjoy the final piece of content that is coming from last years Evil Within. It was an excellent game and we hope they make more in the future.

17:05 was when Sebastian and Joseph discuss the loss of his daughter and disappearance of his wife. It finally makes sense in the 2nd game. I never really knew until I played this DLC, and it caught me by surprise that this was acknowledged before The Evil Within 2. It also explains why Seb is more emotional, as the effects of drinking seem to have worn off. I like to think he sounded boring/not interested in the first game because he was able to cope with the drinking, while in the 2nd game (after Beacon) it no longer helps.
The main game already explains the loss of his wife and daughter, the DLC didn't add that

This explains why they didn't just unplug Leslie. He was brought in through the wireless STEM at Beacon. The question I still have is: how is Kidmann supposed to "bring" them Leslie? Both she and him are inside the STEM world - how is she supposed to get them out? Leslie is apparently the key, being compatible with the system, but he hasn't shown any hints that he knows how to leave STEM. So how does Kidmann "bring" Leslie to Mobius?
If you play evil within 2 it makes sense. In it they state that if you just unplug someone while in stem then they die and their mind is left there forever. She has to bring Leslie to the "extraction point" so Mobius can bring him back to te real world and take him or whatever. Kidman's mission is to bring Leslie to said extraction point
Huh, interesting. I wonder what makes the "extraction point" so special - what allows people to safely leave stem from there? Thank you for clearing this up for me!

*Potential Spoilers*
The story is indeed complicated but not as much as it is made to feel due to long and confusing gameplay. STEM is a chaotic device kinda like the one from Inception, where you enter it with your consciousness and leave a living mark of it that remains lingering even after you exit. The process of entering is injecting you with a substance and connecting you with the machine. It (the machine) needs a 'compatible' consciousness if it is to ever function (Leslie in this case), and that's why the Corporation needs him. Ruvik on the other hand has been trapped inside due to some experiment that involved himself and Jimenez and also probably because he intended to stay inside himself in the first place, to 'live the life he was meant to live'. But seeing that the community inside the STEM is a bloody horrory mess (due to the fact that all participants were psychopaths and lunatics even more so would their projections's nature be, right?) he decides that he wants out again I guess, and to do that he needs Leslie's consciousness and body to physically exit the device since his own body is dead and rotting. Question I still have is where is the device physically located and how did some (Sebastian for instance) enter it without them knowing.
The real truth is that probably no substance is needed to enter STEM. And the machine didn't need a compatible subject originally. But Ruvik made the machine only compatible to him, so they wouldn't be able to continue research without him. So they killed him, took his brain and used it to activate the STEM without him. But his conscience became trapped inside the STEM and started killing whomever Mobius connected to it. That's why Leslie is important. He's compatible with Ruvik, so he can be used to control STEM. And he also can be used by Ruvik as a means to escape to the real world. Mobius can't get a hold on Leslie because Jimenez is using him as leverage, inside Beacon Hills. I guess Mobius has a STEM too, since they always call the one in Beacon Hills "a" STEM and not "the" STEM. And they also say that Jimenez has "a" prototype. The prototype that, is explicitly said in the video above, can connect people via wireless. And Kidman, Sebastian, Joseph and Oscar were connected because the police car radio catched the STEM signal. STEM world is a mess because is controlled by Ruvik and because it is a system based on fear.

People just love complaining just about everything these days. The game made perfect sense to me even without playing the DLC's. Stop nick picking every little thing about it and enjoy it for what it is. A game.

Yeah, all of this really should have been in the game. I get it would have been difficult to blend it together and this does raise more questions (like why didn't she shoot Leslie when she had so many chances after knowing he was connected to Ruben). I guess the ending implies that she thinks Sebastian killed him? But how could she have known that? Why is an all powerful entity able to be defeated in their own world that they can manipulate? Good survival horror stuff and what looks to be cool levels though. Just not paying for it. Thanks for the upload.
i think maybe when he took control of leslie he became more human than his current state thats why guns and all of the weapon on the final fight were effetive on him , or maybe just a memory or spilted his human form and let part of it in the stem so he can he can get out to the real world using leslies body

Damn! What a good ending!! That bitch, her husband is right their!! So many questions answered but now so many more are made by this DLC!! For example, why did Myra not recognize her husband or why didn't she care? Is she being brain washed by Modus? If Juli has that mark on her hand does that mean so does the other opperatives as well as Myra? Is that Mobus guy permanently apart of Kidman? Why does Sebastion see Leslie escape in the end if the agents said they would take care of him? And I think that Ruvik is alive possessing Leslie's body but does that mean the mind of Leslie is gone forever? How did he escape? Hope some of these about Myra and her disappearance answered in The Evil Within 2!!! Really excited to watch!!

Am I the only one who thinks the Administrator was a far more interesting villain than whiney Ruvik? Damn that Mobius guy is like a horror movie version of Don Draper.
Actually, he seemed more like a Slender man ripoff, and for all of Ruvik's grief, at least he had real power in the STEM.
+Rogue Pylon for all his ramblings, Ruvik's story was pretty cliche and straightforward. "Boo hoo my parents never loved me and my sister died and that's why I have so much angst and torture people, emo girls please love me". The Administrator was part of an organization much bigger than himself whose intentions were only hinted at but he clearly had a much broader vision. Who are Mobius? How many agents do they have? How do they recruit? Now that's what I'd like them to explore in a possible sequel. Ruvik created STEM, but Mobius could see its potential uses beyond Ruvik's own petty revenge. I think the administrator was the only one in the entire game that could actually see the big picture.
+Visiting Statue isn't Möbius one big cliché itself? Not that it's lost its intrigue, considering how many movies and games have incorporated the same for the past two decades. That said, Ruvik is indeed cliché, but it's hard to call anything original these days. Revenge may seem petty, but it's a natural response to having had your life's work as well as your life taken from you. I'm not saying it's not overdone, but it would have been unnatural for Ruvik not to dismantle everything he himself created. His actions might have even done the world a favor.
I will say this though, both the Administrator and Ruvik are the most human in this game to me. In the STEM, their both portrayed as absolute monsters, but their base character and desires reflect upon human nature.
+Rogue Pylon fair enough. I admit nothing in this game was particularly original, but the execution was fairly good. In the beginning of the game you think it's the average detective story and that it's something personal between Ruvik and Sebastian, but then the DLC comes out and reveals that it's something much bigger than that (and it turns out that Seb was just an unfortunate bystander and the tragedy upon his family might have just been collateral damage!) It's interesting how the twist is that Kidman was the actual protagonist and driving force of the events all along. Ruvik was like the Robert Oppenheimer to Mobius' Manhattan Project. And as for the Administrator, I think he has some kind of twisted messiah complex. He says to Kidman at one point that he wants to use stem to save humanity from themselves, so he basically wants to create a global hivemind.
