One thing that also gives an edge to the H2 sword, is the attack rate is really high, and it stays that way even when the battery drains in campaign. IIRC, they changed that starting in H3 to where when the battery is drained, the attack rate is slower. Something I remember doing back in the day (particularly on the Arbiter levels) with the sword was using it like turbo-speed brass knuckles after the battery drained out. Also, something that changed starting in H3, the melee attack is quicker than the lunge attack by a small amount. Enough to beat someone lunging most of the time.
I never heard of Sword Flying either and i've been playing this game since it came out Infact neither did i know i could melee to defend myself against sword attacks in what was it? Reach? (I played Reach ALOT too but never knew that)

Halo 4 energy sword may be the best but if you hit solid objects it will lose battery so if you use the energy sword on halo 4 did not hit solid objects.
Fun fact: On Halo 4 campaign playing legendary, you can survive a hit from the sword if you crouch right as they are swinging. It takes your shields down though and it worked for me a few times.
The Field Marshall at the end of "The Pillar of Autumn" right before you get in the MAC gun, I think he takes 3 plasma pistol overcharges to drain his shields on Legendary, he's the only Field Marshall in the game as far as I remember unless there's some BOB ones that are easter eggs.
@Maydelcore Zone I know Field Marshall is at top I am moreso wondering which has higher shields between Generals and Zealots, and between Spec-Ops and other ranks.
@Maydelcore Zone Wait, Ultras have stronger shields than Generals? Rangers have different shields than Officers? Spec Ops shields are stronger than Minors? Are you sure?
it is worth noting that the halo 2 energy sword is the only one that can swing as soon as you pull it out and that it is a one hit kill if you sword lunge, or jump before swinging it
I kinda wished you went in-depth to find out which weapon is most powerful in their respective games. E.g. how much max ammo, how many hits it takes to kill a certain enemy etc
No it wouldnt be the same. Say halo 4. One hit equals minus 10 energy. Halo 2 if you hit with the B melee it only used like 6 or 7. Then less on the flood.
That wouldn't really provide any meaningful information though when comparing between games. But what I could do is take each weapon from each game and compare them against a single enemy in a single game. For example, I could get the time to kill against a Halo 3 brute for each of the weapons from each game. That'd yield better information. But it doesn't really matter because at that point you already have the damage levels from each weapon.
All joking aside, in my opinion halo 2 has the best energy sword because you can sword fly with it and you can immediately melee with it when switching to it without having to wait for it to come out. Also infinite ammo in multiplayer
Your intro Needs a update that’s just my opinion but besides that your the only reason why I still play halo and I appreciate It and you one of the most genuine UA-camr around
I loved the halo reach sword clashes and if you managed to block a sword with just a punch it was pretty badass. Plus the health and shield drain was a nice mechanic for making duels more fun. On infection I managed to block an energy sword twice in a row (after I let my shield recharge) I was left with a magic pixel of health afterwards.
I prefer the way the sword is held in Halo 2. The way it's pointed further downward right at the enemy is more menacing and badass, and it also makes more sense to hold it like that considering it's mostly a stabbing weapon.
In the original Halo 2, the energy sword looked like a toy made out of plexiglass. Or a light up toy you'd see at a carnival or amusement park. The first game had the coolest looking sword imo, because it looked like it was made of "Energy".
There is something you're not mentioning, Halo 2 is also the fastest. You can switch to the sword in Halo 2 and lunge (fire) immediately, something you can't even do with other weapons. In Halo 3 and beyond, you had to wait for the sword to fully expand, or unsheath, before you could lunge or attack, which took even longer than other weapons. In my opinion, aside from the obvious removal of the broken glitches, even in basic usage they nerfed the hell out of the sword after Halo 2, and there was never really any reason to, since the shotgun was better no matter what. (Shotgun was hitscan, if the opponent had a sword, and both players pulled the trigger, the shotgun would always hit first).
I hate how after 2 it's pointed up, blocking part of the screen. I loved when it was center to the screen and a bit down. Always felt weird having it closer up to your head in later games. Like if you tripped and fell it'd cut your head off easily.
The hilarious thing is, when cert testers run into bugs like that sword flying thing, if it doesn't harm the gameplay, it will actually be passed as a feature. So if testers did discover this, they probably had a really good time with it. :P
General, my friend and I thought about trying to destroy the AA wraith at the start of the covenant on halo 3 with small arms but only shooting it in the nose. After about 15 minutes of shooting it, it lived on, just an idea for a video? To see if you could destroy it with things like ARs and BRs
Halo 2 had the best sword. It attacks faster than the swods in the later games.
