had a 63 gold metal flake, 409 dual quads. set up for the drag strip. put it on the road for a summer. screwd up my license but it was a blast. no other car has that sound. yours is sweet.
In High School (1968) I had a '62 Impala SS 409 2X4carbs and 4spd with 411 posi. It passed everything on the road except a GAS STATION! It came stock without PS and man was that a drag!!! ;-)
I drove a red 63 Impala when my wife and I were dating. It was only 12 years old at the time. I gave it to my brother so I could buy a VEGA. Must’ve been dropping on my head when I was little.
The were two that were made by Chevrolet. One was not only a true dual quad 409 but it was a convertible, an automatic and had factory AC. I saw it for sale in autotraderclassic magazine for $125,000 dollars. The other I heard was in a Chevy museum or something like that. EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY RARE CHEVROLET AND THEY'RE WORTH A LOT OF MONEY
I used to drive a 19 56 shevy convertible. in the 50s in England I got it off a UASF guy who was going back to the states. it was a great car I ovd it. I ould pull any grls with it ..wish I had it now lol
I guess Im randomly asking but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me
@Kai Zaid i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and I'm in the hacking process now. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
What are you talking about? Those chrome cross bars on the front on the fenders? Think those are stock. Or are you talking about the alignment of the chrome along the EDGE of the hood? Maybe the hood is slightly out of line. Easy to make adjustment there.
notice how the chrome molding on the front edge of the hood does not line up with the corresponding chrome molding on the front edge of both front bumpers
Nice. Don’t know who owns it now but I’d lose the low prof. wheels and get the right moldings on the hood and fenders and possibly put the correct exhaust in there. Just saying. Love the car though.
To Hopkin 104. Around 14mpg and 8 in winter taking the kids to school. Some 20 years ago my pal had a chevy and I had a RR Shadow 1. Same fuel consumption approx.
The hood lines & molding looks to be near a inch off lining up with the grill, trunk doesn't line up & is way off. Look at when he closes the trunk, its not even close. Things this obvious, I wonder what has been covered up with that thick coat of undercoating & the trunk "splatter" paint as he calls it.
Always Impala ss4speed I use to drive one myself back in 1970 is the first car the I drove and the learn how to drive was a 13 years old kid old the car it was my father's Impala he bought it for $ 625 cash man it was lots of money back then I remember 1 time seeing the sign gas prices said premium 20 cents one gallon and Regular 13 cents a gallon it was two brands of gas back in 1970 seems like if it was yesterday 50 years ago now I'm really old 61 my Dad 91 This summer so one of this days I'm going to get myself a 1963 Impala ss 409 450 horses with ac -4 speed my dream car ◕)ノ*.✧◕ヮ◕)ノ*.✧
Good question. It's because prices can change. If we do work to the vehicle that increases the value and the price goes up, we can't note that in the video. However, if the price goes down, we can't note that either and that means someone that may be interested in the lower price could miss out. Every price is always on the web site, and always up to date!
My mom sort of said she would co sign if I could pay the insurance premium the joke was on me the insurance was double the cost monthly so no 63 vet for me
The trim around the headlights and across the front of the hood is not lined up. It looks like the headlight trim is at fault. It is too wide. It is probable not original OEM part.
Front hood is sitting too low ....come on guys as an old 1967 Pontiac GTO general motors guy if your going to show off this car at least get the basics correct....thanks GM forever fans.....can't beat a good old apple pie chevrolet......
Looks great if you are driving past it, don't stop. The body guy that put the hood on missed an easy one, what else?? Undercoating is a cheap way of hiding rot, never touch one that has been "freshly undercoated". Probably a decent buy at a price but not what he is pitching for I'll bet. This car has an A/C dash but no A/C, why? It is only the 340 hp version so why take out the air?
IF YOU PUT ON THE DUAL QUAD ALONE WILL NOT MAKE IT A 409 HP BECAUSE YOU WILL STILL LACK THE OTHER COMPONENTS, DO YOUR HOME WORK ABOUT THE 409 BEFORE YOU MISLEAD PEOPLE THAT DON'T KNOW, SOME PEOPLE HAVE 348'S AND THE WILL CLAIM A 409, NOT GOOD. HAVE A GREAT DAY
This guy is a shady car salesman that will say just about anything to make a fast buck. I've caught him saying things about other cars that just simply are not true.
SS should have 2 antennas, the bezels around the headlights aren't sitting horizontally leading to it not lining up to the hood trim, trunk gap fitment issues, missing rubber pad on clutch pedal.. I'm sure there's more, but I felt inclined to answer your question with a few of the more obvious flaws
I have the same car 63 SS but sadly mine is a 327 2 speed powerglide. My car is the same color and looks the same exept I have 17 inch rims. They're 5 spoke too but my bars are much thicker. I love my car but I do envy this one.
never had trouble with the 10 commandments but have a problem with the 11th , you know that one , when Moses went up the mountain and brought back the 10 and found out they'd been ridin round in his Impala , so he went back up and GOD gave him #11 : Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors 409 SS
had a 63 gold metal flake, 409 dual quads. set up for the drag strip. put it on the road for a summer. screwd up my license but it was a blast. no other car has that sound. yours is sweet.
Those early impalas are the best looking cars ever
63 is the finest year of any American car
In High School (1968) I had a '62 Impala SS 409 2X4carbs and 4spd with 411 posi. It passed everything on the road except a GAS STATION! It came stock without PS and man was that a drag!!! ;-)

I had one 283 was my first car loved it
A stunning ride. Sounds fabulous. Much respect
Beautiful Impala, love the 63-64s, great pumas too

my brother had a 64 dual quad 4 speed 425 horse factory car that was bad ass
Right at the same time he says "the trunk light works", the lights on the ceiling in the building start blinking :)
I had one of these. The gas station attendant would always ask me to shut the car off so he could fill it up.
engine sounds like a beast...
I drove one of these, probably the 340 horse, in 1965. I needed a co-signer for the loan. My dad said no, so it was no 409 for me.
Good comments
Amazing sound!
63 impala SS 563 7000 HP
I recall Chevrolet running out of 4 speed transmissions and built some Impala 409s with three on the tree
My BS meter started moving before the video started

I would trust this guy about as far as I could throw an elephant. With one hand.
I guess Im randomly asking but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account..?

@Kai Zaid It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thank you so much you saved my account !
@Davion William Glad I could help :D
What's up with that trim on the leading edge of the hood???
What are you talking about? Those chrome cross bars on the front on the fenders? Think those are stock. Or are you talking about the alignment of the chrome along the EDGE of the hood? Maybe the hood is slightly out of line. Easy to make adjustment there.
Got too excited , missed the fit of "fit and finish "
Look at the trunk molding too, about a inch off
The reason for the sound is only because of the cut off modified tailpipes. For my money I would prefer the full length tailpipes .
Yup, pretty cheesy,
Doesn't SS have dual Antenna ?
I'd never buy a car with new undercoat , thats a red light of something they are trying to hide .
Lance Manyon b
That undercoat looked real rough actually looked a little rusty underneath I’m not sure but it was bubbly and chipped.
@@russmonte7072 It didn't cover the fugly below either, shady practice
Midnight Gambler that’s right
Video ten years old but you have any more impala’s
why didn't they fix the clutch pedal?
Front hood is out of alignment .
In one second
The 409/348 was unique in that the left bank and the right bank were 70 degrees
The hood doesn't line up with the grill
It's one of them built otta DAH junkyard rides they dropped a motor in , stay away !
UTUBE Flea Market car .
So what!
Your a real used car salesman
Honest Tony the workin man's friend AAAA
All that money spent and no pad for the clutch pedal.
How much?
notice how the chrome molding on the front edge of the hood does not line up with the corresponding chrome molding on the front edge of both front bumpers
how come the top of head light chrome don't match the chrome on the hood,?
it is not a straight line across the whole front of car, lousy resto
That was my first take. The chrome never match up on the hood. BS
Concur
Nice. Don’t know who owns it now but I’d lose the low prof. wheels and get the right moldings on the hood and fenders and possibly put the correct exhaust in there. Just saying. Love the car though.
I agree.
I think I hate sales people after watching this ...... and quite honestly the 1959 , is a more desirable body style .
To Hopkin 104. Around 14mpg and 8 in winter taking the kids to school. Some 20 years ago my pal had a chevy and I had a RR Shadow 1. Same fuel consumption approx.
Sweet!
Sweet
One sweet ride
Chrome across the hood doesn’t line up on both sides
Or even across the trunk that lines up to the quarter panels.
Beautiful and my favorite year.
Is the 409 a four bolt main?
Damn! Sounds killer
I think there are issues there as well. Seeing it up close with a magnet would tell a lot.
Interior dome light did not appear to work as did the footwell lighting.
Attention to detail - people notice these things!
Old school rules new school drools
That is a 340 HP not the SHP 425 HP or the 400 HP with a 4 barrel .
For that price you should include a a rubber foot rest on the clutch pedal.
Why you can't put a price on it, in the video
Good question. It's because prices can change. If we do work to the vehicle that increases the value and the price goes up, we can't note that in the video. However, if the price goes down, we can't note that either and that means someone that may be interested in the lower price could miss out. Beautiful car that would stop on factory drum brakes, lose the big hood wheels and put normal sized disc brakes on it.
Failed to see a jack usage tag on the trunk lid 🤔
My mom sort of said she would co sign if I could pay the insurance premium the joke was on me the insurance was double the cost monthly so no 63 vet for me
I personally like the '63 more than the '64.
Me too
Which was better a 409 or a 427 ?
The trim around the headlights and across the front of the hood is not lined up. It looks like the headlight trim is at fault. It is too wide. It is probable not original OEM part.
I have one just about like yours looks good
M I ne is a 409/425
Looks like a nice drivers car. Not perfect by any means, but the problem with perfect is people don’t drive them.
One of my wish list cars. Ohhh yea shes hitting a lick man thumping
nice car. but the hood is set too low, easy job, should have been done
Front hood is sitting too low ....come on guys as an old 1967 Pontiac GTO general motors guy if your going to show off this car at least get the basics correct....thanks GM forever fans.....can't beat a good old apple pie chevrolet......
He's the sales manager that opens your wallet after the sales rep befriends you

Please fix the misaligned hood.
That’s a cool car man wish I had it.
Who needs MOPAR!!!.
That's what I have 409 SS with factory AC and power windows? I have had many offers. Six3Impals

Reminds me of the guy on "Road House"...…"She's a runner!"...……….
Exaust should not exit in front of the rear wheel, looks cheap!
I agree that sucks
Shaky trim work that should tell you right there to "about face"!
Saw that where hood and fender meet
Hood chrome misaligned with fender chrome.Quite a bit, too.
Very nice......
Car porn! I love it.
Nice car what's the price
Most muscle car dealers have overpriced mediocre customs give a '61 bubble top

my dad was going to trade our 56 chevy for a 63...i said no ..hate the frame ,, hate the drive shaft on this car
I wish more people hating them because this prices are up in 40s 50s.
But it doesn’t have original wheels and hubcaps
I what to count my fingers just after listening to that guys spiel.
It’s spatter paint.....not splatter. 🤦🏼♂️

Then why does'nt the hood line up
My factory '63 SS 340hp had no tach... guess I was robbed.
No, he is wrong, they were an option.

How much you to restore one? And Where are you located?
More than you can imagine
Thanks for the info.
Your headline says 450hp, that's not a 450hp 409.
Has a dash for an AC car but no AC?? Was this a real 409 SS or a clone? He never said did he?
It used to be a street dancer with a 230 cubic inch inline.
Vin would tell
Hood chrome doesn’t line up with the headlight chrome and you spent all this money on it???
Jimmy Sapien ,trim on the left side also
Why does everyone that restores a car and paint it freaking red
BECAUSE the original paint code was FREAKING RED ill bet.
Bright orange with white top is my prefference thàt Impala needed to be Ferrari redFire Red
I need one

I had one with a 230 6 cylinder, gutless, took skill not to kill the engine starting in first gear, what a piece of junk
I have a 1977 Caprice Classic 350 Quad. You can have for $5000.
right on the air cleaner it says 340hp........not 450 !!!
Best way to tell on a rebuilt engine is to put it on the dyno. Stickers are just stickers.
top 1 or 2? No. Maybe top 25-30. Spatter painted correctly? Only the original factory can do that. The rest is simulation.
