91 Hiace regearing update #2 4/16/23

Im gaining but everytime I get closer I find more to modify. When Im done its gone be a sweet Hiace. Next update, suspension and tires. Seey ya then.

Thanks for these videos, I'm hoping to one day get a truck like this, and it will be nice to have references if I need to modify it similarly. I'm not a mechanic so I just want to be clear, the modification you are doing now is to change the gearing in the diff on the back axle to match the front so that you can run the same size tires as the front, and to do that, you are swapping the axles to go from 5 lug to 6 lug? I'm also curious about the speed of these trucks, I'm sure they are all different but can I ask if you have reached a top speed with it yet? And do you think the work you are doing now will effect the speed? If not, and you wanted it to go faster, would it just be a matter of re-gearing both the front and back diffs?

Matching the rear gears to the front wont affect the road speed. But Im puttin 31 inch tires on it and that will. I should be able to do 60mph comfortably. the way it was 55 was pushin it. Thanks for ya interest.
