changing the electric brakes on a trailer with dexter 10k oilbath axles

- my friend Maxit16 wanted to rewire my 10 ton Deck over (thank you brother ). This past summer the front driver axle was smoking so we figured the brake was toasted. we finely got around to checking them and yep we had to put a new brake assembly on her. to adjust the breaks theres 2 small windows on the back side where you take a small flat head and adjust the adjuster lever toothed wheele. (had to look that up ) i was thinking it was like a car's drum where you back up and pump the brakes . hope this helps some and thank you for watching.

I'm a Dewalt guy but my wife is a Milwaukee impact person for the truck work and she LOVES her Milwaukee 18Fuel tools. Headlamps and dedicated axle nuts are a major advantage in the shop.

Nice job man. I don't envy that chore.. Trailers are not very bad most of the time, but having the wet axles makes it a bigger mess, thats forsure! Hope you all are having a great week and take care!

Brother no lie I just did this exact same job on one of my trailers lol. I got the entire works new backing plate , pads, drums etc and re wired the entire thing. What a pain but definitely worth it!!! Some guy down the road has a identical trailer as yours, I'm thinking about getting it for a back up , but it's in pretty bad shape. Hi. Thank you so much for the video. Quick question. By looking through the wheel (without taking the wheel off) is there an easy way to tell if there is a brake system?
aniyahudi go under your trailer and look at the axles from the back. if theres brakes there will be wires or a spot where there were once wires . if you mean if theres is any brake pad left i cant remember is there is a window like on my dump truck. but if theres now window you will need to get the drum off to see the pads . hope this helps some and thank you for watching

Thanks for the video!! What size socket was needed to remove the axle nut and what are they supposed to be torqued to when reassembled?
Display sorry i dont know off the top of my head 2 5/8" sticks out but deff dont quote me on that . the torqued is at the end about .10mm play on a dial indicator or so. let me know if i can help with any thing else. and thank you
