At 15:40 I almost defended the game. Dan thought his weapon disappeared when really an enemy picked it up. Then the enemy died and the weapon disappeared.
@ThatOneShortie idk, I think it's sweet that they were looking for some kind of competency. There could've been some poor sap at one of these companies that put some effort into the little bit of the game they were given
i know im randomly asking but does someone know a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly lost my login password. I appreciate any help you can give me
Yo know that there are microtransactions when there are TWO currencies, one that is worth a dollar in thousands, and one that you can buy for 20 for 0.99$! Also if you want a GOOD mobile game, get 80 days, it's worth the five dollars.
This is exactly what I was telling my friend. Like currency is easy to obtain and you can get thousands of them the other one is fucking rarer then the big foot and you can buy them in large sums with real money
Pumpkin Pie Also games made by Kariosoft (Game Dev Story, Grand Prix Story, Pocket Adademy etc.) are pretty good too for the amount of money you pay for them.
Scott Reynolds Well, there was Gladius on the Xbox/PS2 called Gladius, which was a sort of RPG/Tactical game where you lead a school of gladiators to glory. From what I remember of playing it, it was pretty good.
A Plastic Spork because someone was too lazy to design an armoured skirt thing like they used to have in those days, could also be that the designer liked the look of his low res butt
I feel like a lot of people don't give the mobile/tablet platform enough of a chance. Yeah, most of it is uninspired freemium shit, anyone can see that, but I've downloaded some absolute gems for mobile/tablet. Monument Valley, Rymdkapsel, Sword and Sworcery, Device 6, Ridiculous Fishing, Boson X, Badland, Hitman GO...not to mention the many ports from other platforms that actually work fine on tablet - Limbo, Bastion, VVVVVV, FTL, Turbo Dismount, Thomas Was Alone, any Telltale game, and so on. It's easy to generalise, and obviously just having a touchscreen has its limitations (although I don't think the one-button comparison really works) but there are devs out there who can do some pretty innovative things with the platform. It's just unfortunate that the genuinely great experiences are completely overshadowed by the shameless money vacuums pumped out by companies like Ketchapp, and in that respect I totally sympathise with Dan's frustration - that shit is poisonous to the industry. Only my opinion though, so no angry responses please!
I understand where you're going at. When you brush off all of the shitty developers pumping out freemium games and start disecting the market to find something valuable you just might get something worth while. I've heard Hearth Stone just gor placed on the android market and I'm obviously going to get it because it's a game that can work on the platform. Danial's disliking of mobile games can seem a little bais but there is still fun to be had on a cellphone without coughing up $30 just to actually get ahead.
DaddyC00L666 Monument Valley isn't, Badland isn't, S&S isn't, Rymdkapsel was ported from PlayStation Mobile, Device 6 isn't, Hitman GO isn't, Ridiculous Fishing isn't...the only game I mentioned on the non-port list that might possibly be a PC port is Boson X. Some of these games were later ported to PC, but that's different.
When Dan was complaining about the play button turning off the sound does he not see that it was plainly speeding up the cutscene. That's why the sound went. Jeez.
Glad to know that they at least put in a "How to hack and slash in a hack and slasher game" tutorial. Imagine how long it would've taken to figure that out, thanks lads!
Anybody else notice when his sword "Had just gone hadn't it", the other guy actually picked it up and duel wielded it? Hm. At least they tried something like intelligence.
I loved the beginning of the video, mainly because he went full on TotalBiscuit and stayed on the menu for almost a fourth of the video unfortunately he didn't go to the actual options
My favorite phone game was Infinity Blade 3 just because it felt more engaging than most phone games, hardly any waiting for the most part and was well worth the money for me.
Thomas Wildrabbit He did Akinator, Evie, and, what, maybe 60 to 70 Free Game Fridays on games that were roughly on scale with S&S? Plus the other UA-camrs who made fine quality videos of such games.
Quick list of mobile/tablet games I own that are worth your time; -Kingdom Rush Series -FTL -80 Days -Battleheart -Battleheart Legacy -Pretty much anything by Kairosoft (Take your pick of which appeals to you the most) -Calculords -The Sonic Remasters -Slayin' -Knights of Pen and Paper There's definitely more, but these are the ones I own that stand out.
ah, shadow of rome. a game where you can cut someones arms off and beat them to death with one while they literally piss themselves in pain and fear. LOVE that game.
The best gladiator themed game I ever played was shadow of rome on ps2. A very good hack and slash with a named point system for doing different moves, (Such as 'feed the people' for cutting of somebodies arm and tossing it into the crowd) And aside from the occasional overly difficult stealth section, it was a really solid game. Its a shame that rather then make a sequel, they made dead rising.
The only mobile phone game I've ever played and continue playing even now, almost a year later, is the game 1010!. I haven't spent a single dime, cent, dollar or pound or anything on it. It's a free puzzler with some ads but the ads appear only after you lose. It's a sort of new spin on Tetris. It's only like 120 Mb's or something and I really recommend it for everyone who likes Tetris.
I kind of want to see a Nerdcubed FW Neopets just out of nostalgic interest to see what he thinks about it now. That is, assuming he played it as a kid!
I feel like Dan almost forgets that its a port from a mobile game and that sometimes clicking on things works... For example the "skills" menu. He had 3 skill points and instead of using them by trying to click on the skills itself he clicked on buy skills saw money and immediately threw shit at it before working out anything. Also at 15:00 you can clearly see the AI picking up the sword. All I'm saying is that Dan is giving it too much shit. Yes its a mobile game with a PC Port, no I will not allow you to shit on it for the wrong reasons.
I'm sorry Dan but you're wrong about the best gladiatior game, the title actually goes to Colosseum: Road to Freedom on the PS2, that game actually had a fantastic story along with amazing combat.
Dan, if you want to play a fun Gladiator game, play "Colosseum: Road to Freedom" It's a Playstation 2 game that came out in 2005. I used to play it all the time and I think you'd enjoy it too.
Haha, when Dan switches out the sword for the trident it doesn't disappear, one of the ai come and pick it up so they have 2 swords. Then the other ai killed it and he went over to pick one up and they both disappeared.
Challenge idea! "Nerd3 Challenges: Bareknuckle Beatdown-Oblivion". He would have to beat everyone up to the Gray Prince with only his fists. (Note: The name for the challenge is not my own. Props to whomever thought it up).
Dan, as far as I am aware, that 'play' button on mobile games speeds up cutscenes. And, because Mobile Game Developers are either, A- Lazy or B- In need of more space for gameplay, don't just speed up the audio as well.
NerdCubed should play AdVenture Capitalist, it's free on Steam, and is most likely the only good mobile port in the universe. It's very forgiving on the microstransactions. Not once while playing will it say "Buy more gold! Buy! Buy! Buy!"
Edwin Usprich it's pretty much just a cookie clicker clone game, which he's already featured on his channel so what's the point? uninteresting video that would be.
"oh. i got my genitals caught in a beartrap" -daniel hardcastle, whatever year this was made. the best part is how bored he sounds when he says it, hes like "oh. i burnt my toast."
1:40 the good Mobil phone games came at the start of the smart phone. The last none I can think of is angry birds Star Wars one, and if anyone says flappy bird you should know that that is a rip off of the older game helicopter.
galaxy on fire 2 HD is pretty good, it's free with two dlc, i'd say it's best on a tablet, not a phone because a phone is just too small, but it's pretty good. it is a mobile port from pc but they did a good job.
At 15:40 I almost defended the game. Dan thought his weapon disappeared when really an enemy picked it up. Then the enemy died and the weapon disappeared.
The fact you saw almost 16 mins of this game and still decided to find a point to defend it.
Yes, I am judging you for your decisions 7 years ago.
@ThatOneShortie idk, I think it's sweet that they were looking for some kind of competency. There could've been some poor sap at one of these companies that put some effort into the little bit of the game they were given
Thanks for making me the mystery video dude!
i know im randomly asking but does someone know a method to get back into an Instagram account??
I stupidly lost my login password. I appreciate any help you can give me
@Nathanael Bishop Instablaster =)
@@nathanaelbishop5480 strange place to ask mate I can't lie but it got results

The port of Terraria is pretty good too, if you get past the glitches.
Oh god I love kariosoft. There prices may seem a bit high but the gameplay
Is worth it
Do yoh know what would be fucking awesome? Combining the Arena system from Oblivion with the MyCareer mode from 2K15 in a Roman Gladiator setting!
Yes, please.
The game that can finally make Roman look strong.
***** Thx bro. Real useful!
Thx fake account! Real stupid!
Scott Reynolds Well, there was Gladius on the Xbox/PS2 called Gladius, which was a sort of RPG/Tactical game where you lead a school of gladiators to glory. From what I remember of playing it, it was pretty good.
"All of the crowd are behind something thats in front of them.
Thats cute"
-Dan
Anyone else thinking what I'm thinking... Oblivion Arena Permadeath
Yes
James Malony But oblivion has level scaling, as long as he actually has a weapon, he would be fine.
*****
well he would probably say he won if he reached grand champion, maybe even before hand if he found out about the gray prince
Yes!!
"As long as he actually has a weapon, he would be fine," huh? Then the answer is simple, "NerdCubed Challenges! Bareknuckle Beatdown! - Oblivion."
Why does the main character have no leg armor? It looks like he's just in his underwear! Any of his opponents could just slice off his legs.
A Plastic Spork This is olden times, no one really attacked the legs, they mostly went for the chest and head...
A Plastic Spork because someone was too lazy to design an armoured skirt thing like they used to have in those days, could also be that the designer liked the look of his low res butt
FAPPERCRACKER so in the medieval times nobody had the brains to go for the weak point?
FAPPERCRACKER Well, regardless, he takes off all armor in the second battle to show off his painted on abs or something before they get sliced off.
FAPPERCRACKER You clearly don't know what you talking about....
"Salvia Potion?" Ok, so apparently to heal themselves in battle, Gladiators get high as hell and hallucinate that their injuries don't exist.

Cal P Notice how most of the good mobile games you named happened to be on PC originally?
Little did we know. This humble gladiator would go on to join the WWE one day...
How DARE you compare The Great Scipio Africanus to Mr Jank Man over here
When Dan was complaining about the play button turning off the sound does he not see that it was plainly speeding up the cutscene. That's why the sound went. Jeez.
So they were copying shadow of the colossus?
To be fair, it was a single triangle, whereas everyone except lazy, crappy devs use *two* as the fast forward symbol.
JamieFailsAtGames he also complained that his sword disappeared when the other opponent picked it up
He didn't know that »_»
+Connor Hickman the weapons vanished anyway later on so he has the right to bitch about it
I gladiator. Do you gladiator?
yes
+Ernests Stroinovs only on thursdays.
Si, yo gladiato mucho
White Flag Gaming only on sundays.
Nah, ice cream
I, Gladiator
You, Gladiator
Were, Gladiatoring
There, Gladiatoring
Holy *fuck* your grammar is terrible.
Your Mom BTW , I dont give a fuck
holygamingbc You should've said 'We're gladiatoring' and 'They're gladiorating'
Actually it goes: I, you, we, you (plural), they

I wanted Will Smith to reprise his role in I, Robot into this game, but I guess not. Color me disappointed
I dont like the Hell videos... not because i dont like the content. But because the developers got money because dan payed them...
Exactly! When he played accidental runner, I was furious he payed 2 dollars to the developer.
Dylan Coull After steam and publishers had their cut, I think it would e less than a dollar.
Jorn He only does it so he can warn everyone else what games not to get
Jorn Agreeing with TalkingTurtle, it warns people to not buy that game as he showcased how bad it is.
TheDumbus it would have been 180
Under 301 club! may I take your order am the waiter
I loved the beginning of the video, mainly because he went full on TotalBiscuit and stayed on the menu for almost a fourth of the video unfortunately he didn't go to the actual options
The game should be called Hack&Slash
Jim Lazorbeam nah you only need to slash *:)*
Left click and Right click simulator.
Jim Lazorbeam Already taken, by a not shit game
Fuck yeah. Hell Video.
You missed out on the pun of a lifetime. "Hell yeah, a hell video"
Nah, would have been a bit much.

3:00 I am glad everyone appreciates oblivion like I do.
When he mentioned the ES: Oblivion Arena
I know that feeling Dan. I spent at least 12 real time hours feeling like a gladiator!
Search for Cocoman in Appstore. It's one of the amazing game I've ever played. Feel like Flappy Bird all over again.
"lel under 301 skrubz! i got a tiny weewee and tis is teh only ting tat makes me feel special!"
I kissed the screen when Dan said oblivion had the best gladiator combat, this is why i watch you...
The thing that dissolved at 6:10 was a head that Dan cut off.
That opening voice, to quote Tear of Grace:
"Had more gravel in it than a fucking driveway!"
Hey dan, for another gladiator game, play Swords and Sandals, it's amazing
you can get a downloadable version
Thomas Wildrabbit He did Akinator, Evie, and, what, maybe 60 to 70 Free Game Fridays on games that were roughly on scale with S&S? Plus the other UA-camrs who made fine quality videos of such games.
The full game isn't a browser game, it's downloadable
Oh man I remember that game :D
He dropped his sword for a spear and some other guy picked his sword up and started dual wielding.
My laptop gave me the blue screen of death so i watched this video to cheer myself up and it did thx nerdcubed
Yes! Love these, never stop making them!
*laughs in 7 years later*
Man, even 10 year older, the PS2 game 'Colosseum: Road to Freedom' absolutely shits all over this. Can we just have a HD remake of that please?
Your rant in the beginning is flawless.
"Ryse: Son of Rome came out, and it fell over" I can't breathe, send help!
Gotta love the gaming industry at the moment...
I quite like the mobile port of oddworld strangers wrath, once you get used to the controls it's really good.
I saw the AI pick up your sword Dan, so at least it did that right.
16:30 But your leg! AH! its caught in a bear trap!
hehe
I think the HELL series is definitely getting better games. that's pretty good
edit: I REGRET COMMENTING BEFORE WATCHING
lol.
Quick list of mobile/tablet games I own that are worth your time;
-Kingdom Rush Series
-FTL
-80 Days
-Battleheart
-Battleheart Legacy
-Pretty much anything by Kairosoft (Take your pick of which appeals to you the most)
-Calculords
-The Sonic Remasters
-Slayin'
-Knights of Pen and Paper
There's definitely more, but these are the ones I own that stand out.
at 12:31 it is just the skyrim steel armor with a iron helmet
So many WWE references! I didnt think there was a way I could love your vids anymore
12:38 the game just called Dan sensei..
it makes so much sense now
21:56 Hey look, it's discount Strong Belwas
the play button didn't turn off the sound, it fast forwarded the cutscene
PLOT TWIST: We don't procrastinate whilst watching your videos, hello no longer procrastinating procrastinators, maybe? no? ok
4:08 is when he starts playing, your welcome
ah, shadow of rome. a game where you can cut someones arms off and beat them to death with one while they literally piss themselves in pain and fear. LOVE that game.
"There's good mobile phone games Out There!" - great, but unintended pun.
Being a philistine i'm probably wrong but I want too see a childs drawing of the mona lisa way more than the real thing.
The best gladiator themed game I ever played was shadow of rome on ps2. Oblivion's Dark Brotherhood quest line was amazing. Oh, and the Shivering Isles Dlc... Oblivion was actually a good game..
I love your analogy at the beginning.

Nononononooooooo, the greatest gladiator game EVER has to be Colosseum: Road to Freedom.
Worst offender of the "start badass then spend whole game getting there" thing is [PROTOTYPE].
The game links in the hell videos are the best bit

this game in a nutshell
A gladiator game I played was Mount and Blade: Warband, it's not the main focus of the game but you could play it like a traveling gladiator
NerdCubed loves Shadow of Rome.
My day *AND* my life, is now complete.
An amazing Colosseum game is "Colosseum: Road to Freedom." It got got really difficult at times, though.
"I gently, heh, admit that." -Dan 2015
"I'm gonna lure this guy into a trap while I can't even see where OW GOD MY LEGS!"
I kind of want to see a Nerdcubed FW Neopets just out of nostalgic interest to see what he thinks about it now. That is, assuming he played it as a kid!
Four words:
*Shadow Of Rome, Capcom.*
This looks pretty good for a mobile port.
12:25 Mook chivalry.
I feel like Dan almost forgets that its a port from a mobile game and that sometimes clicking on things works... For example the "skills" menu. I'm sorry Dan but you're wrong about the best gladiatior game, the title actually goes to Colosseum: Road to Freedom on the PS2, that game actually had a fantastic story along with amazing combat.
***** I came here just to say this. Man, that was a good gladiator game.
The Art Style ls Alright
Dan, if you want to play a fun Gladiator game, play "Colosseum: Road to Freedom"
It's a Playstation 2 game that came out in 2005. I used to play it all the time and I think you'd enjoy it too.
That game was amazing
When you dropped your sword some guy immediately swapped his shield for it... the shield that YOU picked up.
Remember days when a game had two different currency and the though was "Oh one must be harder to get" and not "Which one must I pay for"
He says "Big Button"like the Tenth Doctor.R.I.P Ten
I have a quick question Dan. Have you ever tried Mount and Blade and its Arena/Tournaments?
Haha, when Dan switches out the sword for the trident it doesn't disappear, one of the ai come and pick it up so they have 2 swords. Then the other ai killed it and he went over to pick one up and they both disappeared.
Challenge idea! "Nerd3 Challenges: Bareknuckle Beatdown-Oblivion". He would have to beat everyone up to the Gray Prince with only his fists. (Note: The name for the challenge is not my own. Props to whomever thought it up).
I played through the entire Oblivion arena in one day cause I loved it so much
Ok i am now convinced Nerd is a fan of Jim Fucking Stirling son.
iGladiator.
huh...
Renko Usami
The best gladiator game ever is the Areena series, bar none. I think Areena 7 even has the English language support for everyone to enjoy.
The reason the sound cut out at the beginning is because you hold it down to fast forward
Bring back the Hell series please!
Buy! Buy! Buy!"
Edwin Usprich that profile picture matches so well
Edwin Usprich it's pretty much just a cookie clicker clone game, which he's already featured on his channel so what's the point? uninteresting video that would be.
StephenWasHerelol Never said he should make a video on it, I was just suggesting a game he would like
Dan the guy stole your sword.
how ironic is the line looking good as ever XD
1:40-1:44: and they are in my opinion the Kingdom Rush games
10:29 is that me or do those loin cloth physics make it look like a wang
"oh. i got my genitals caught in a beartrap" -daniel hardcastle, whatever year this was made. the best part is how bored he sounds when he says it, hes like "oh. i burnt my toast."
Thank you, so Much, Dan.
The somewhat sequel to I, Frankenstein.
1:40 the good Mobil phone games came at the start of the smart phone. The last none I can think of is angry birds Star Wars one, and if anyone says flappy bird you should know that that is a rip off of the older game helicopter.
when he mentioned shadow of rome i just felt the need to cut someone in half with a giant axe...
galaxy on fire 2 HD is pretty good, it's free with two dlc, i'd say it's best on a tablet, not a phone because a phone is just too small, but it's pretty good. it is a mobile port from pc but they did a good job.
The weapons disappear to force you to buy them, classy.
When dan put down his sword one of the Ai picked it up..
I like how he couldn't find the sword someone took
