I am in awe of the astronomical amount of time this must have taken, between writing the script, designing the spoiler-free assets, animating it, and recording the audio, and editing the video. I hope this garners more views than any other video you have made! Just amazing.
Took a lot longer than the 21 minutes to watch, pausing to read all the delightful custom-made spoiler-free cards and text. Excellent training video! (Ps, we need more videos with NZ accents)
Thanks! That means a lot, coming from you, as I really enjoy your channel. (In fact, I've just finished watching your "Stop maxing out your credit card on crowdfunding" video - great stuff!) By my calculations, ISS Vanguard should hit the doorsteps of us Kiwis early next week (ish)... can't wait!
@@adventuresincreativesoftwa6283 Ummmmm...... Well, in the hour since you posted this comment i got a courier knock on the door and its here. I might be getting mine a smidge early as its a review copy. But i doubt the rest will be far away.
!!!! I for years have been talking to people about a British scifi called "Blake's 7" and NO ONE, EVER, Has ever heard of this show I watched when I was young. And Now i see one of your crew members at 10:40 is Avon and even has the selfish trait! I wasn't imagining it after all! Avon for me was the most impactful character in that show and to this day like 30 or 40 years later I still remember him distinctly .
@@adventuresincreativesoftwa6283 Man, when I saw it i about jumped out of my seat. I remember loving that show as a kid and I've always used it as a writing SHOULD be "unapologetic" . Bad guys stay bad, Selfish people stay selfish. American writing / t.v. shows always ends up being where the bad guy redeems themselves in the end. A cute girl hands the biker gang guy a flower and he goes soft and fights for good. Not Avon! I love how the literally ended the series with him........ doing what he did.
Well slap me silly! I am torn between being flabbergasted and frozen with plain astonishment in regard to the quality and depth of this tutorial. The production quality is beyond insane and the effort made is just unbelievable. It was a lot of fun watching this and I definitely feel ready to go and enjoy this masterwork of a game. Thank you very much for all the work, heart blood and time that went into making this tutorial. All I need now is the actual game. 🥴
Probably the best board game tutorial I've ever seen. Just watched all three parts. Such a flawlessly concise way to explain the rules. Loved, the flow, production was amazing, and the sheer effort is commendable. Thank you very much.
just parroting what everyone else as said. very well done. I have watched several setup/startup tutorials. All seemed to gloss over stuff very quickly, or assumed you had a lot of information (like having read the rulebook!) this answered several questions and clarified many more! Well done! and it is obvious there was a lot of planning and work in presenting! Thank you!! PS: and the humor;-)
Thank you for taking the time to do this. There is a colossal amount of work in these videos. And props for including Liz Shaw. I knew I was in the right place when I saw that. My Dreadnaught wave 1 pledge dropped last week and I haven’t had a chance to do much more than open the boxes and take a look inside. This series looks very helpful and will make the mammoth meal more digestible at the start.
This was phenomenal. Easily one of the best "how to play" videos I've ever seen. The assets, the animation, the writing, were all exceptional. Thank you!
Great walkthrough and excellent production. Really helps bring all the pieces together by methodically going through the steps. As others have commented, outstanding work on creating this spoiler-free example. Looking forward to the other 2 in the series. Cheers!
I will heap on the praise of many others. This was one of the best tutorial videos i have seen. The fact you made all the elements to show this game spoiler free is awesome. Well done.
This could well be the best 'how to play' video ever made. Astounding production values and an absolute joy to watch. Apart from that, it also taught me how to play the game!
OK, I work in TV internationally so I've seen a lot of production work. This is exceptional. I am astonished that you made so many cards, so much funny content, and so many graphics and put it all together for an unofficial video! Truly, TRULY, terrific work. If you wouldn't mind sharing, I'd love to know how long this took you!
Thanks for the feedback - much appreciated. I don't know exactly, but creating these videos seemed to take ages: many dozens of hours over nearly 2 months. (In my defense, I didn't have a copy of the game - just some public PDF files to work from).
Glad the handling of Pizza's, kittens and pewpews while handling this game are covered... hopefully also kittens with guns 'for science purpose' .. kinda need a paper on that one.
I'm impressed by the time investment this video represents! Thanks a lot! A small correction: when playing solo, you can use 2-4 crew members (around 17:00). I'm curious about your accent: where is it from? New Zealand??
Thanks for the feedback! And nice accent-spotting by the way - I am indeed a Kiwi. Regarding the away team size, I was just going by the shipbook text (17:02) which says "Note: If playing solo, you must select 2 Crewmembers from 2 different Sections." But I share your philosophy that in a co-op game, solo players should be free to run as many characters as they want to.
this is amazing. The only problem I can see is that the video title does not contain kewords "how to play", so it is not included in the resoults of search for "iss vanguard how to play"
I cant figure out how to set it up. after following the directions, I have a huge stack of injury cards, many stacks of discovery cards (and unique discovery cards), and an entire large black tray thats never mentioned. no clue where the dice and puch-out tokens go either. no idea what goes in bag. Any help appreciated
I just got my delivery a couple days ago. Unfortunately, UPS damaged the box and 2 of the section trays. Speaking of section trays, mine look nothing like yours. I have the basic and the upgrades. Am I dense and yours are just CGI? Also, I now know what the section sleeves are. OK. Dense. lol Alos, my wife loves Blakes 7. I've never seen it. But we have all series of Red Dwarf. I like the original Marven versus the new one.
Sorry to hear your copy suffered some damage, hope it doesn't lessen your enjoyment of the game. Yeah, the Section Compartments in the video were just a bit of fun. :-)

+1. Definitely pro level.

I love how you included the Towel as equipment. It is the single most useful tool you can have when traveling through the galaxy
First Oathsworn, how this. Your videos are amazing.
What a great intro to the game. This should be the official "how to play" video. I am so glad Dave Lister was promoted to the engineering section!!
Go Listee!
Agreed, should be official!
Great video! And loved all the little Easter eggs in your cards and characters!😂😂😂😂

Amazing video, so much effort and it really shows
This is without a doubt the best guide to the ISS Vanguard game I have seen, well done!
This was not only informative to watch, it was also very entertaining. Love the style - thank you very much for allt he work you put in :)
Didn't know what to expect going into this, but that was so good! Thanks for the amazing quality walkthrough!
What a brilliantly written and executed tutorial. Funny, clear and concise!
I hope awaken realms send you every game for free, this video is amazingly made. Thanks!
Thanks! Awaken Realms prefer to work with other channels, but some other publishers have been really supportive and helpful.
Fun, informative and a sort of geek-test to see who laughs at which parts.
This is so well done. Thank you for your hard work. I legitimately laughed out loud when you were loading the lander.
Avon. Nice.
This is in my opinion the best video tutorial for a game I have watched so far. Thank you for your work
